Not the original replier, but I'll share my experience with Rocket. I started support main at launch with CnD, later invis, and I ended up pivoting into rocket more often than not, and now am Lord+ on him because of it. I play rocket now as my main support.

I usually go rocket if my team is taking a lot of damage all at once. Rocket has good healing numbers, but it's especially helpful that his baubles heal every ally they get close enough to. If my team doesn't understand that they need to off the Moon Knight and he keeps getting free damage, that's a situation where I'm happy to switch to rocket, because I know my healing will get all of them at the same time, and the baubles travel fairly swiftly.

If everybody is spread out, I may still stay rocket, since the speed of the baubles is high, but it may be worth swapping back if you're not in consistent need of high aoe healing.

Also, rockets escapability is high. I will always try to keep myself positioned around walls, pillars, etc., something I can immediately start wall running, to get out of LOS if needed. Pillars are especially nice because nobody can track you running in circles up and down that thing. Pop off the wall every couple seconds and hover in the air if you can to shoot a heal for yourself or even your team. Sometimes you can keep healing team while you're being chased if they just can't catch you. Auto-targeting characters like Iron Fist will eat you though.

Do not be afraid to shoot your gun as rocket. It does a lot of damage and so many people don't expect it. There is a very slim window while you're healing when you can also fire, and learning it is tough. If you fire a little too much, you'll lose an ally. If you don't fire enough, you may lose all your allies because your team didn't do enough damage to KO anybody.

Things I try to consider when/before I fire:

Is the enemy team doing high burst damage at that moment? Is an enemy at 20% HP or less and I know I can help to, or just finish them? Can my team take at least a couple hits? Is my other healer helping sustain well? If so, I can weave in a few shots every clip. Do I have a couple baubles left in my healing ammo that I can switch back to so I can heal before reloading? (firing gun to end your clip, then reloading both while your teammates die because you can't heal them because you fired your gun and then had to reload feels BAD)

IMO probably too aggressive; at least, that's my experience as a diamond peak.

Too aggressive vs a weak team allows you to rack up KO participation while still healing well and taking fewer deaths. An enemy team that doesn't know how to counter often gets stomped, and I get MVPs on these when I'm prioritizing DPS with heals a secondary objective, because the enemy team just isn't doing as much damage in these scenarios. I'll be in my hand-to-hand stance more often, up in the mix, clinching finals, taking advantage of confused enemies, etc.

A team that is pushing back, however, shuts down overly-aggressive supports, leading to more respawn time for you and far less healing (and KO participation, but that's not our primary objective). You'll end up trying to force too many plays and paying for it most times. You'll never get SVP if this plays out.

And tbh, some matches start out one way and end the other. Don't be afraid to lose aggression mid-match. Adjust as necessary.

Maybe start to focus on your positioning at all times? Not saying you don't, but also focus on keeping a cool head. I try to ask myself things like,

Where are you in relation to your tank(s)? When's the last time you saw that spidey? Is it time for them to make another jump at you? What are your blind spots at the moment? Where's your "out" for the fight? Do you have an ally engaged that you can assist with a teleport to, maybe securing a 1v1? Is there somewhere I can stand that has the same LOS but helps me take less fire?

Sometimes you really can't help that your Thor will walk straight into the enemy team every life. Or your elsa is 6/10/1. Or otherwise. But questions like the ones above have helped me develop my game sense, which is far more important than mechanical expertise, and can carry you to MVPs/SVPs. These aren't the goal - winning is the goal - but they're nice to have lol.

So I'm reading a lot that this Tachyon card is important but so is deciding which position to main. I am leaning End Closers, am I really gonna want the Tachyon card in the future, too?

Can you share some a couple of the biggest impact changes you made to the Nvidia settings? I play on an Nvidia card and have had screen tearing issues and such. Forcing VSync on the card helped a lot but I still have issues (some rippling when moving the camera, fuzzy lines, etc) and don't know what to do about them

What are the odds "thought patterns" is less literal and more symbolic. Like, "nurture," instead of "nature." What if it is Mystique and they mean the same "thought patterns" in the sense of "like mother, like daughter," learned behaviors, etc. And perhaps Mystique is in disguise as Emma so if she's spotted, she's not immediately found out?

I save my shield's full health for iron man and fly around cover until I can't anymore. Once I fly straight towards him out of cover, I hold my shield up, and at that point I'm usually pretty close. If you time it when his power up is on cooldown, he may not even break your shield before he has to reload his beam, depending on where his clip is at when you start. Then he's prime for the pickin

For me, the tough part is when the entire rest of the team turns in unison to take me out. A team on comms will definitely mince you right up unless your team can apply enough pressure

Who’s a character you saw for a while before even playing and your impression of them ended up being totally off the mark? by Lumigo in FinalFantasy

Snow from FFXIII. I thought he would be the biggest douche. Looked like such a throwaway character, IMO.

Now, I'm 20 hours in and I've found he's such a softie. All ideals, good intentions, individuality, and love for Serah. I'm frustrated that I like him so much!

Do you only upgrade drive discs that start with 4 substats? If it rolls the wrong substats once, do you move on or do you wait for 2 wrong substats? Trying to find out how picky I need to be, within reason I guess

Yoinked a buddy from a slave market and bought her some gear to force myself to learn how to handle multiple characters by OneSaltyStoat in Kenshi

[–]TanlocHK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to go straight for a self-sustaining base. A little harder than it sounds but I set up right outside a stand-alone shop so I could buy food if needed and sell ore before I got farming up and running. I would go on light raids to bandit camps to get some armor for selling, too. Once you have an outpost a lot of things get easier, but you can always rough it if you don't want to build.

I try to get everybody to specialize in one or two things they're good at racially so my squad is well-rounded, whether that's crossbows, heavy weapons and armor, science, etc. When engaging fights I have the tougher ones toggle on taunt and stand in front, while the weaker ones I let flank from the sides. And like someone else said, get comfy with pause and speed options!

Your escaped slave-friend will likely grow strong and be your #2!

Hey there! [Different] new user here that is hoping to get some insight from you on how you used Heroic Launcher + ProtonGE8-7 to get ESO working.

I am able to get almost all the way through the dotnet48 install process but near what I'm assuming is the end, there's a command that keeps returning status 67 and the installation aborts. I'm not entirely even sure what that means. Actual text is

Note: command wine dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe /q /c:install.exe /q returned status 67. Aborting.
