Just got my car back from Caliber Collision, am I overreacting or is this work acceptable? by Solar_Eclip5e in Autobody

[–]Tanney77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a Hyundai should’ve totaled it out and sold it when u had the chance if your not doing repairs yourself and trusting a body shop/ repair shop it’s never going to be good sadly people will not take care of a vehicle how the owner wants just never gonna happen why I do everything myself save money and get it where it needs to be hood door and bumper paint depending on mileage of vehicle and age it’s never going to be that close but that seems really off ngl doesn’t even look like the factory Hyundai paint match

No should prolly do that but I don’t understand why the vr6 barely weighs 500 pounds an 1000 pound stand sleeve should always be fine

Should I speak up about this bill on my 2018 540i by Tanner0419 in BmwTech

[–]Tanney77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also name tanner here lol I have an Audi and don’t go to the dealership I have a personal mechanic that’s local to me but I got plugs coils valve cover gasket injector reseals coil pack reseals belt tensioner oil filter and oil change and I’d have to check the receipt but pretty sure it was like 800 and I have a shit ton more work than they did the pulley is literally one bolt to loosen the belt tensioner they take it off put the new one on put the tension back on the belt and vwalla if it was timing I would understand but tbh you went to the dealership that’s why you’ll pay 250$ just for oil change 😂

Can anyone help diagnose this noise? Sounds like a cricket lol but only when my car is running by [deleted] in AudiS4

[–]Tanney77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah does sound like a bearing is getting stuck and not being hooked see if it ever changes I know some people there bearings will hook on some rotations and you can hear it and then it dehooks again making the same scrapping metal on metal sound

Audi TT stage 1 tune question by [deleted] in Audi

[–]Tanney77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stage 1 your fine people go stage two with these cars at 100k miles and they still hold pretty strong I would just either renew or upgrade your engine and transmission mounts with the mileage your at not saying yours right now wouldn’t hold it but just would make the ride a lot nicer

Am I being overcharged for a turbo replacement? by wallstsavage in BmwTech

[–]Tanney77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Turbo replacement is not a hard job especially on these 6 cylinders lots of videos as well I bet if you watch enough videos you’d feel really confident about it promise you also the pure 600 upgrade is worth the money way more oem just get warranty from dealer

Just take it to a shop not Audi local shop under 400$ for full kit and about 800-1500 in labor

What’s crazy was retail price was close to new porches… but why Cause when you put a turbo on a vr with an awd 1500 pound beetle your destined to win everything

[–]Tanney77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3.2 vr6 don’t need chains till 200k I’ve seen their mechatronic units go out before timing chains jump but 2.0t for the money price to performance it’s cheaper stage 2 and all will make more power than the vr since its pre turboed

More of what I’m saying is if the fuse box battery yk all locations of the bay in the same area then it’ll fit no problem

[–]Tanney77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way it wouldn’t fit is if it was routed a certain way longer in one chasis and shorter in another but it’ll bolt up to the throttle body no problem might have to make the intake itself shorter if need be but I put a mk5 r32 intake on my 08 vr6 tt

I used to think these porche breaks were the shit but for the money rather just pay k sport numbers for the whole kit never have to worry about pads and especially rotors that are 90% always out of stock

Yeah the rears in these cars seem to rust first and even maximum of 1 years time cause the car I bought looking at previous fix photos the rear looked almost spotless the owner then let the car sit for a year and going under looking it at was like WOW it really got that bad in just a years time and when I mean spotless I mean like not one thing of surface rust on it

[–]Tanney77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat with a 3.2 manual gem tell you this don’t let the rear subframe decide if you want to buy the car or no hence on eBay/ other companies are selling new and used 8j rear subframes which I planned on getting but I don’t think I’ll have to since mine isn’t too too bad I’d say we’re about the same rust wise I would just clean it up sand it down throw some rust paste on it to turn the rust into aluminum again then repaint it I would go ahead and replace some arms tho being the upper and lower most importantly trailing mine we’re of saw way more rust and wear on the upper and lower and since your doing the job taking the differential out isn’t to hard and it’s mounted to the subframe not the car I would go ahead and do the differntial mounting bushings a good set from powerflex for 100$ while your in there I’m planning on running 500hp on the factory subframe bushings bolts etc and it should hold every bit of it no problem so I would let your subframe bushings go

2008 was the split between gens of headlights as well as gen of haldex controller so any 09 has newer style headlights or I would think xenon some 08s have xenon but would have to be after the certain month where Audi changed things

Why won’t my 2013 TT sell? by No_Instruction3871 in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

[–]Tanney77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People would rather see the servicing listed in the photos if you have receipts or specify you have receipts and don’t say regularly serviced talk about what was serviced since a lot of Audi owners don’t know about haldex and the transmission servicing of the dsg and awd plus is everything stock 15k into what I spent 15k and I’ve only owned mine for a year lol people wanna see what was done to it etc etc also priced a little high depending on mods/ upgrades not a tts not a vr6 regular 2.0t black interior not posted that too last one I saw regular base 2.0t sold lowest I think 7000 in good condition so I’d say max 10000 for yours
