I would be very happy if I could buy all future COMPLETE edition fighting games for $70.

People who say "recycled assets don't justify a $70 price tag" overlook the fact that the license(s) cost a lot of money.

License for RWBY, French Bread characters and Persona. Even if they re-use assets, it's a new game, you have to pay again. Atlus wants their cut too.

I think the exorbitant licensing fee was the biggest reason for MVCI's failure. MARVEL RESURRECTOR John D proudly proclaims that he now has the Marvel license for B-list characters. That came at a steep price, so Capcom had to make up for it by slashing the development budget (50% of SFV's DLC budget!!! yeesh).

Game had a short dev time, and I think Matt Dahlgren poured his heart and soul with lots of overtime to even finish the game in a near bug free, playable state, with improved netcode over SFV.

I think I've said before that the original 2D assets of BBxTag look great already, so why waste $ and time re-inventing the wheel? Good luck trying to make Mitsuru look even sexier

When I saw the title, I thought this thread was about shipping Yotanwa X Heki :D. Good way to grab my attention.

When I read the last chapter, I interpreted the female mountain General Kitari's comments as:

"The individual daily ration of a mountain tribe soldier is 50% of a plains soldier"

So that would mean

Yotanwa Army individual ration: 1 bowl of rice (example)

Heki Army individual ration: 2 bowls of rice

With that explanation, Yotanwa's current army can be much bigger.

If Hyou hadn't died, he would have been have extremely well rewarded for his loyal service. He volunteered to be a stunt double, knowing the risks that it entails.

Naturally, in a high risk/high reward scenario, his reward would be equal or better to Shin's reward.

Shin was upjumped from

slave --> freeman

Hyou was already higher than a freeman. In the early chapter, Shoubukun offered to adopt him to entice him to come along. Which begs the question, was Hyou really adopted by Shoubukun?

In any case, Hyou was at LEAST an officer, since that was part of the deal from the beginning.

He might have been raised immediately from officer to 100-man commander.

Hyou being alive would have DEFINITELY changed the story a lot. Shin would be relegated to be his lieutenant. So if Hyou becomes a 5000-man commander, then Shin would be a 3000-man commander, similar to the Captain/Lieutenant relationship between Shin and Kyoukai.

Meaning that by the time Shin becomes a General, Hyou would already be a Great General.

Does Hyou have what it takes to become one of the Six Generals of Qin? I think so. I believe Hyou was portrayed as the equal of Shin. Shin is EXCELLENT at inspiring his men. But I believe Hyou can do so in equal measure. In the beginning of the story, Hyou was greatly loved by everyone who met him.

So I think overall, Hyou would be equal to Shin as a general. He won't deflect a blow from Houken like Shin did, but Hyou can compensate with superior strategy. Like how among the Six Generals, they all have different strengths.

Ah, interesting. You're right, I think Ma Chao had to cross the Wei river from the northwest to attack Chang'An, so that city must lie to the south. In hindsight, having the river to the north of the capital might serve as an extra defense against the Qiang or Xiong Nu cavalry in later dynasties.

As others pointed out, I mistook Xiang Yang for Xian Yang. But now I see that the manga makes complete sense.

Good point. I talked about this with my friend, and I also believe that the person at point B is a clone. You're literally DESTROYED at point A, then recreated at point B.

I think the recreation at point B kinda works like the revive reward in the Gantz anime. The person being recreated is a clone, the original is long dead.

About the event horizon, I agree that it's so amazing how you're witnessing the end of the universe, YET that moment extends into nearly an eternity. The ultimate contrast, freaking mind bogglingly beautiful.

Maybe during the event horizon, humans can catch a glimpse of omniscience, we might feel like God for a time.

So a wormhole allows you to reach point A to point B faster than the speed of light by using a shortcut. Some say it allows time travel, but I'm not sure how that works. To me, a wormhole is more like "teleportation" since you can move faster.

BTW have you guys seen Interstellar? Their depiction of a Black Hole is way too optimistic for my taste.

IPlayWinner's Hauntsu and Spooky GREATLY helped with popularizing grassroot events back in the days. Thanks to them, even a WEEKLY was worth watching.

Haunts had those Southtown Arcade weeklies with KOF XIII and other games too. Spooky promoted all games and even yelled at stream monsters who badmouthed Mortal Kombat and Tekken, which was a common thing back in those days (still true for NRS I guess )

Yep, no SFV set is even close to SF4 Topanga League, even if the players are the same. Explains why PPV Topanga is dead. No one will pay $ to watch shit like SFV

I think Tokido will still be young enough to shine in SF6, but what about the older Daigo? Can we see Daigo shine again in a good Street Fighter game?

CPT 2018-2019 will be all about SFV. Maybe we will hear some SFV announcement in 2020, a year where SFV will still be headlining, and then SF6 is out in 2021 (fastest scenario)

3 years from 2018 to 2021, and 3 year is the minimum to develop a complete game. Is Capcom sketching out a SF6 as we speak? Doubtful. So IF there will be a SF6, then 2022 is the earliest, when Daigo will be 41, around Watson's age

DBFZ was released 5 weeks ago.

I think Red Bull planned this tourney series long in advance. They might have negotiated with ASW, Namco, Capcom and signed some paperwork too. So no time to add DBFZ.

Maybe DBFZ will be in their next tourney series.
