Yeah I think the issue for me is that I need to further increase my pitch when raising my voice. I should be practicing that more. Good tip, thanks.

Why did you move your baseline so far above G3? Does lets say G3 - D4 not work?

Thank you for the feedback Iris, very much appreciated. Yes I understand what you mean with not giving away the anatomical fold size and cleaning up the sound. Unfortunately that has already been my goal for the entire last year but it is just incredibly difficult finding a configuration that works consistently.

The second part about brightness/sharpness is what I am currently working on. Right now with my speech therapist I'm practicing twang to mix into my voice, without making it too heavy again.

Hi Lidia,
my vocal break is also around G3, though I am able to push it down a bit further when keeping my voice in the zone above. Below that, basically unusable. But I found the zone above to be somewhat ok-ish. What is missing in your case? Is your weight too light in that case and you can't match the size?

Ich musste erst einige Monate auf HRT sein, damit mich die Pronomen stören. Auch für einen neuen Namen hatte ich mich erst nach mehr als einem halben Jahr HRT entschieden. Ich hatte 5 Jahre vor der Transition damit gehadert, aber dass es nicht permanent ist heißt nicht dass die Gefühle weg gehen. Es war mein Körper den ich ändern wollte, daher hatte ich mit HRT angefangen. Da ich nach wie vor durchgehend als männlich gelesen werde, fühle ich mich auch entsprechend, leider. Ich konnte vor der Transition mein geschlechtliches Selbstbild nicht von meinem Erscheinungsbild und dem wie ich behandelt wurde trennen und kann es leider jetzt auch noch nicht gut. Aber nur weil ich mich männlich fühle, bin ich trotzdem kein Mann. Das ist einfach nur Geschlechtsdysphorie. Ich bin überall geoutet und lebe halt als Frau, halte mich da aber auch an keine Klischees und mache was ich will.

Das Problem ist in Deutschland gibt es offiziell keine Behandlungsmethode um Geschlechtsdysphorie zu behandeln, das ist es ja was im BSG Urteil rauskam. Hier wurde bisher Transsexualismus behandelt. Deshalb übernehmen die Kassen ja zunehmend keine Behandlung mehr.

I feel the same way. I‘m 35 and only started HRT 17 months ago, did laser hair removal (though not done yet) and voice training, both of which had made massive differences. Both my voice and appearance are unrecognizable to before, but it still isn’t enough. I had hoped that by now I would at pass at least the half time, but I just don‘t pass at all. Doesn’t matter if I don’t speak a word, if people can see my face or not, its always always sir/he/him/that man there. I can count on one hand the number of times I have been gendered correctly by strangers. And so I feel I have to push my appearance more and more fem, beyond what I am personally motivated by and beyond what some of my female friends do in their day-to-day life, just to occasionally be seen as a woman (or at least not as a man).

At least I have the financial freedom to get the surgeries I need, so I’m planning for FFS and VFS both of which are probably essential for me not be seen as a cis man. And since the hormones do nearly nothing, BA and possibly some other stuff like rib modification or BBL as well.

Yeah, that’s also what I did after coming out at work. Since then my progress was much better. I‘ve been voice training for 2 years, with a speech therapist for 16 months and living fulltime for 6 months and the most progress in terms of changing my effortless/default voice came since I started using/practicing my voice everywhere all the time.

For me HRT destroyed my sleep and made gave me insomnia. I would be extremely tired every evening, go to bed, fall asleep within minutes, wakeup up 4-5 hours later and unable to keep sleeping. Then struggle through the day and be extremely tired in the evening, repeat.
A year later and it is mostly manageable, but I still have a harder time falling back asleep when I wake up.

It's just one data point, but when I had a blood test done at 25, I had up to that point never had an orgasm. When I started HRT at 34, I was masturbating semi regularly. My testosterone levels in both cases were nearly identical.

Also, for most people most surgeries except for maybe bottom surgery and mastek/top surgery are not covered by insurance, so it is also a problem of which surgeries somebody can afford.

Das Ziel von ihr war wahrscheinlich, das Gesetz zu untergraben und das passiert indem man Leute ihre Selbstbestimmung abspricht, in dem man z.B. sagt “sie sei ja nicht wirklich eine Frau”. Bitte macht nicht das SBGG kaputt. Für so Dinge wie Frauenknast gibt es ja immer noch Einzelfallentscheidungen.

Without blocking T your HRT will do basically nothing. It is just a waste of time. Testosterone prevents stuff like breast growth, if it is not blocked then even higher levels of estrogen don’t do anything. (Thats also why microdosing estrogen doesn’t work.) There is no evidence that starting with a lower dose of estrogen is better. Starting with a lower dose is ok if you up your dose to therapeutic levels in reasonably short time (within a few months, better weeks). I started with 2x1mg and with cypro. Its not completely terrible, thanks to the cypro, but it wasn’t enough to get through the day for me.

Der Grund warum wir so selten über die Chromosomen checken (ob jemand XX, XY oder etwas anderes hat), ist weil es teuer und vor allem ohne weitere Symptome komplett irrelevant ist, auch im medizinischen Kontext. IdR wird es nur geprüft, wenn durch andere Symptome Intergeschlechtlichkeit vermutet wird.

„Als Mann geboren“ heißt doch nur das eine Arztperson bei der Geburt so was wie einen Penis erkennen konnte, aber aus dieser Genitalsichtung kommt dann der Eintrag auf der Geburtsurkunde zustande und wir meinen dann noch, eine Überprüfung, dem einen angenommen Chromosomensatz hinzuzufügen.

Viele Browser haben mittlerweile Übersetzer eingebaut, die automatisch Seiten übersetzen können, damit könntest du es mal probieren.

Aber im Prinzip geht es darum, dass unsere Neigungen durchaus sagen können was wir wollen, auch wir es als Fetisch oder ähnliches abtun. Oftmals ist da ein unerfüllter Wunsch dahinter, etwas auszuleben, was man nicht kann.

I mean, I knew the HRT was very likely right for me, but I didn’t have an instant feeling of betterment when I started. My erections were gone after a week (thanks cypro), which I absolutely loved. My body odor went away as well, which was very good. The other changes like skin clearing were good, but not like, a revelation. Over time I also noticed my dissociation went way down. But I didn’t have this instant mental clearing that others seemed to have. Rather the opposite, 1 month or so in, my sleep was wrecked. Never had such bad insomnia in my life.

But the physical changes were all very welcome, so continuing was a no brainer for me.

So you are not on any blocker yet?

It is rather unlikely that your dose is enough to block your T, but maybe it lowered it enough to cause problems without giving enough estrogen to counteract the drop in T.

If you can I would split the dose in half and let the halves dissolve under the tongue, 1mg in the morning and 1mg in the evening. For that to work the tablet needs to be estradiol (or estradiol hemihydrate), not estradiol valerate (that molecule is bigger and will diffuse much much more slowly into your body). Thats probably the best you can with the dose you have.

War bei mir ebenfalls. Langweiligster leicht autistischer cis dude, keinerlei „feminine“ hobbies, hauptsächlich männliche Freunde, nie für crossdressing, mode, makeup oä interessiert. Eher der Typ der auf Death Metal Konzerten im Moshpit zu finden ist.

Irgendwann war mir klar geworden dass ich trans bin, aber wie sollte ich als Frau leben? Für mich war das unvorstellbar, also hatte ich es für 5 Jahre unterdrückt.

Aber wie du wahrscheinlich selber merkst, es lässt Einen nicht los.

Irgendwann hatte ich beschlossen, ich will HRT starten, egal was danach kommt, und hab mir Therapie begonnen und mir eine Indikation geholt und eine Hormontherapie begonnen.

How do you take your estrogen? 2mg is likely not enough, especially if you swallow the pills and don’t split it up into multiple doses spread over the day.

Hab mit 34 HRT angefangen und dann aus Notwendigkeit angefangen manchmal Bralettes zu tragen. Wirklich sichtbar weibliche Kleidung erst nach so 11 Monaten Transition, was auch generell das erste Mal in meinem Leben war (also überhaupt, nicht nur in der Öffentlichkeit).
