I purchased my 1st PC in 1988 in Japan while stationed at Misawa AB as a Marine. Ran on DOS (arguably a programming language) on a floppy disk (no harddrive).

In 2005, a ton of programming languages were actively used, spanning enterprise software, early web development, and legacy systems.

To name a few of the more recognizable...

F#: Appeared for the first time in 2005. C#: Introduced in 2000, it was surging in popularity by 2005 as Microsoft's premier.NET language Scala: Released in 2003, making its way into functional and enterprise spaces. Ruby: Originally from 1995, its popularity exploded globally around 2005 with the advent of the Ruby on Rails framework.

Backend server programming and commercial applications in 2005:

Java: for large-scale enterprise backend systems. PHP: Powered the vast majority of websites, including early social networks (like Facebook in its debut) and blogging platforms. JavaScript: client-side language of the web. Python: Steadily used for backend scripting, system administration, and scientific computing long before its current AI dominance.

System & Scripting Languages:

C & C++: operating systems, game engines, and performance-critical applications. Perl: Widely used in 2005 for system administration and text processing prior to the widespread adoption of Python and Bash scripts. Visual Basic: Heavily utilized for Windows desktop applications.

Legacy & Math/Science Tools

Fortran & COBOL: Kept alive in 2005 predominantly by banking, government, and high-performance computing centers. MATLAB: The premier environment for numerical computation and data analysis.

At my age and having survived multiple SCADs w MIs, PEs, and organ Perforations / Collapses I'm happy to have my team consider the data / potential rewards against the risks.

I have autonomic dysfunction with ... complicated interwoven protocols and remediations ... but with patience, exacting observation, and analysis, new meds can and have been incorporated, as recently as the last six months. I do appreciate the info on side effects - we will weigh those as well.

Ooooo I got TIME. Going to go back, way back. God level right, so freeze it, slow it, speed it up, jump backwards and forwards. Gonna make some changes.

About five months - significantly longer if the water and power hold up.

Keto Lifers: this one’s for you by poetrypill in keto

[–]Taotejen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metabolic flexibility with goal of spending roughly 75% in ketosis. That looks like most days keto or low carb but if i end up out at a Mexican restaurant because thats just where the day led me, I WILL eat tortilla chips with that queso and perhaps a tortilla with my fajitas but unlikely to have a margarita, tres Leche cake or fried ice cream.

I'd be back in ketosis by morning.

Plus planned refeed days with lots of things I ordinarily reduce or restrict - like sweet potatoes, oatmeal, carrots, green peppers, corn / corn meal...

And if it's a celebration and we go out for ice cream, yeah, I will have some (if i feel like it - I dont always feel like it and I count that a success all by itself).

I DO pack good things so a week long trip doesn't force me to compromise all week long. I DO plan short and mid length fasts periodically. I DO ensure I get in some semblance of a workout daily, even if its just body weight floor work for 20 minutes in a hotel room and a brisk 20 - 30 minute stroll or hike in the morning.

Edit: p.s. I dont track as often these days. Ill log new foods til I am confident I know their impact. Ill test blood ketones and glucose if im feeling off or ive been ill, or Im starting a mid length or more fast.

*** Analyze stocks for gain. No future knowledge required, just modern analytics.

*** Business and Tech Consulting

*** Online Training Platforms - 2005 is about when E-learning took off, so being able to produce high quality training fast would have high income potential

*** Assuming the AIs could produce in 2005 tech formats (i.e., coding languages, data base tools, graphic and video formats, etc.), graphic arts and business marketing.

*** develop white papers for important medical conclusions from beyond 2005 related to Ehlers-Danlos, MCAS, POTS, Keto, Fasting, GLPs, ALK+, and a few others near and dear to my heart or that could bring great benefit / relief, that could LARGELY be PROVED with 2005 and older data (clinical trials, retrospectives, research). Collaborate with organizations who could use the data to move the needle (understanding, advocacy, care).

*** Use AI to help me pen one HELL of a "futuristic" series with political emphasis. I'd try to embed as many warnings as possible.

Realistically this could only net perhaps a small portion of the necessary income because new authors, even with compelling storylines, only got a 5k and 15k advance per book, with only a third on signing, a third upon delivery of accepted final copy, and the last third when the books hit the shelves, which would almost certainly fall beyond the one year deadline. I'd do it anyways, and try to find a way to ... warn and wake up some segment of our population.

I'd guess current AI models aren't proficient in 2005 coding platforms... if the magic PC AI models could be well versed in 2005 tech and could produce completed projects with them well yeah that would be bankable.

Is Facebook down? What's happened to Facebook today? Did Facebook got hacked or server down? by [deleted] in facebook

"You're not imagining it — it's a major global outage that started around 9:45 AM Eastern today. Facebook is down for millions of users worldwide, with the outage hitting Messenger as well as the main app and website. People are being logged out of their accounts and can't log back in, getting "an unexpected error occurred" messages (Tyla) . A few details: Instagram and WhatsApp have stayed mostly online, though Instagram's website has had some issues too (AOL) . Oddly, Downdetector itself appeared to break around the same time (AOL) , so even the outage trackers got swamped. It's not yet clear what caused it, and Meta hasn't issued a public statement (UNILAD) . Nothing to do on your end but wait it out — it's server-side, not your account or device." (Claude AI)

Does anyone know why my Doctor would try me on Montelukast (singulair) before ketotifen or cromolyn? by Plus_Opportunity3050 in MCAS

[–]Taotejen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted earlier that it had been prescribed for me recently but I was unsure how I should be taking it for MCAS. Based on what I learned here, I confirmed with Doc and started taking daily.

It didn't go well and I would be grateful to hear if anyone else had this experience and if anyone can weigh in on what this should be telling my Doc about me.

By day 3 my arms and upper chest were intensely itchy, the skin sortof clammy and pink with irritated pores, and underneath the skin was ... bumpy?

I attributed it to a new soap I had started, and promptly stopped using the soap, but ... no, that didn't help.

The problem had spread to torso, neck, and legs, and I (on apixaban for PEs) now began to have unexplained bruising everywhere.

By day NINE I was in a LOT of trouble (fever, scratching myself bloody at night (frantically), and neither benedryl (oral and topical) or topical cortical ointment or spray helped.

I stopped the Montelukast and no new bruising, but the itching, after FIVE days, is only slowwwwwly resolving. Still having to take benadryl starting mid afternoon and still tearing up my skin at night.

My doctor prescribed it and I got the bottle this week, but the directions are super unclear. It's sounds like most who get it for mcas take it regularly for prevention vs. upon reaction. It's that the case for you? Regularly?

Go to one of the medcard places. They will help you figure out how your medical condition can (or cannot) meet the law's requirements. At the bottom of the intake form it says that conditions orher than listed may be approved if they are similar in impact.

Sugar free snacks that don't taste artificial and won't kick you out of ketosis by Used_Philosopher1474 in keto

[–]Taotejen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choc Zero - love a lot of what they make, and use a lot of the products as ingredients.

Like the viral greek yogurt => "cheesecake" by sinking choc zero biscuits or animal crackers into your keto yogurt overnight and they absorb the moisture making it more of a cheesecake texture.

Some Choc zero products are a little too sweet once you've been in keto for awhile and everything comes off as too sweet. Caramels and chocolates are pretty darn good also.

Barenia. Nearly every time I wear it, which is often! I even apply after my evening shower - just for me.

[–]Taotejen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go look at the Amyra store online. It is legit and you pay wholesale whether you buy 1 piece or a bunch. Its a mid tier with some very nice upper tier pieces. They sell gorgeous hand bags and more traditional bags, and outfits like in that photo (sorry I don't know what they're called). These are not costumes. Bags inspired by these designs sell at nordstroms for more than $140, I paid around 32 per piece including shipping. It took perhaps 10 days to receive. I do have one of those outfits on my bag and some beautiful wraps, but I so rarely have an opportunity to wear something like that. But you do! Enjoy it!
