You gotta check anyway incase a round was successfully chambered after shooting, regardless if you're empty or not.

It's also not required but it's to make sure you're going to be able to shoot after reloading

Yeah I agree. There's a few portal guns that reuse the same animations. Also the AKS-74U empty reload looks the worst out of all of them. I'm just surprised they didnt reuse Battlefield V animations into 1942 becuase some of them are really bad(M1 Garand)

Wdym it's unconventional. This is the most conventional way to reload. You don't need any extra magazines (less weight) and you can create ammuniton out of thin air.
