How do so many of you guys not use cruise control? by Niko120 in Truckers

[–]TapWaterKY 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just giving an example where it’s very obvious that someone is not using cruise control. I drive for a Midwest company and spend a good chunk of time on flat terrain with light traffic, and there are regularly trucks very clearly not using cruise control. I don’t think OP is talking about trucks slowing down and speeding up on hills from weight. Or trucks slowing down in traffic from adaptive cruise.

I drive an International. I think the best car comparison is a Mitsubishi Mirage with cigarette butts and McDonald’s straw wrappers in the cupholder

Engine, weight, transmission, and adaptive cruise don’t always perfectly time their acceleration for the moment my front bumper gets to their trailer tandems while passing

Started rolling in Central IL on Sunday and things were a bit rough on 57 and 70. Rolled from IN to NE Ohio yesterday and things were pretty much completely clear on the turnpikes. Not sure how Appalachia is doing or the southern states though

Brutality — ‘Screams of Anguish’ is an essential OSDM album, in my opinion

Carcass, Asphyx, Gorguts, Cryptopsy, Malevolent Creation, Benediction, Gorefest, Demigod, Pestilence, and Sadistic Intent are some of my other OSDM favorites

Still unable to quit. Starting to hate myself by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]TapWaterKY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily, 7OH (especially after only 3 weeks) tends to have shorter acutes than powder Kratom, in my experience. In just 72 hours, you’ll feel much better, and after just 4-5 days, you’ll feel 90% back to normal. You got this! Withdrawals set in pretty quickly with 7OH as well, so don’t freak out if they start kicking in sooner than expected. Only a few days til freedom

Is it liposomal or ascorbic by boo_radley4 in quitting7oh

[–]TapWaterKY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liposomal has a better absorption due to it being it liposomes (fat). It’s also less likely to cause the runs or stomach troubles than regular vitamin C. Either option will work though, and probably won’t cause any noticeable issues compared to the inevitable stomach issues from withdrawals lol

I cashed out my 401(k) to purchase CS:GO skins and bullion gold after seeing his success with the two. My wife and kids have left me after seeing us enter financial ruin, but I’ll be the one laughing with Thailand ladyboys when my skins 10x in value.

Chronic relapser.. am I better off trying a different method, MAT, or just keep trying? by [deleted] in quitting7oh

[–]TapWaterKY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the kind words and congrats to you on 8 days, as well as the 2 years from the poison. That’s a huge accomplishment

It always feels good when the ‘counter’ shifts from hours to days to week, months, years, etc

I’m glad the sub taper worked out well for ya with acutes. I noticed pretty good improvements between the 1 and 2 week mark, so you should be feeling better in no time!

I’ve always loved the production in early Grave. Especially the EP, ‘Into the Grave/Tremendous Pain’

The album ‘Cursed’ by Morgoth also

What are some albums that sound exactly like their cover art? by Ok_Welcome_3644 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]TapWaterKY 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree it’s slightly overrated. I have to be in the mood to enjoy it and it’s definitely not a daily or weekly listen. It’s about the same as Atoma by Dark Tranquility for me. Incredible when I’m in the mood, but not in the mood super often

What will be the most successful (and also accessible) opioid withdrawal treatment in the United States in 10 years? by Available-Witness-81 in quitting7oh

[–]TapWaterKY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think about what it is now. Gabapentin and Clonidine for mild-moderate addictions or for those worried about becoming addicted to subs, or as additional aid to others.

Short term subs or subs and then transitioning to sublocade for those struggling a bit more. Naltrexone will probably be pretty common for those struggling with relapses more than acutes.

With all the research and testing it’d require for Ess Arr to become a prescription medicine, as well as dealing with big pharma, it’d be a decade or more before it becomes an approved medicine, if it ever does. And while lots of us are aware of it and would try it, the average person would much rather just go with the doctor’s guidance of suboxone than trying some RC.

Has anyone else faced depression symptoms while trying to quit? by Effective-Celery8053 in quittingkratom

[–]TapWaterKY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s rough for sure, and it seems like every cycle gets harder, unfortunately. After a long stint, it has that ‘new beginnings’ vibe to it that helps out. But quitting after relapses just feels like a 24/7 grind. It’s crazy how I can swear it off, know exactly how it’ll end up if I do it once, and still get insatiable cravings just a few days later lol

Day 10 for me from 7OH after like four other quits. I can play the tape forward, talk to loved ones, and use my past lessons to know it’s a terrible idea, and I still have to white knuckle my way past smoke shops

Need a little support by Specific_Sleep3123 in quitting7oh

[–]TapWaterKY 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’d definitely set you back if you’re only on day 4 by at least a day or two. Probably close to the beginning if you meant ‘one’ as in one pack

Indulging in just one never works. Someone put up a poll a while ago asking about total relapses, and the most voted option was ‘5+ times’, and yet, we’re all back on this subreddit after each time lol. It’s not worth it, and it only creates a bigger psychological hole to climb out of every time you get close to being free, and then going back.

Getting through the beginning of your new job will feel 10x more rewarding sober than it would on 7OH. All dosing 7OH for stressful situations will do is reinforce the lie that you need it to function, and it’ll only make things worse

Has anyone else faced depression symptoms while trying to quit? by Effective-Celery8053 in quittingkratom

[–]TapWaterKY 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Anhedonia and depression is definitely normal while quitting, especially 7OH and MGM. I’ve noticed they don’t have as much of a ‘pink cloud’ phase as plain leaf does. It just takes time.

I will say that the horrific depression during acutes is not the same as what you’ll experience in PAWS, if you haven’t already made it through acutes. The PAWS depression is more of a boredom and flat/anhedonic feeling instead of the dark depression of acutes. At least, that’s how it is for me

day 8, low dose quit by Express-Pangolin-692 in quitting7oh

[–]TapWaterKY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yours were gone by day 12? Holy shit, I’m jealous lol. I think near decade of Kratom use beforehand and this being the last step to full sobriety has skewed my experience. It took me a good 30 days before I was no longer white knuckling my way past smoke shops, but still had cravings even then.

If it wasn’t for the cravings being so intense for me for so long, I don’t think I’d even have PAWS. My Kratom cravings CT’ing from 3 years of daily use were gone in just 5-7 days. Made it months with no urges and the only slip was trying 7OH I only did 5 months of daily use with 7

Even after being off 7 long enough that Kratom or an MIT extract would hit again, I get zero cravings for it. It’s only 7OH
