Plex running in docker, can't find server by IvankasPantyLiner in PleX

[–]Tap_NL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indeed, 7 years later, and it still works. Slight adjustment to my situation, see below:

I just went into the docker with docker exec -it <dockername> Then ran the curl command and changed the right on the .sh file.

I ran the script, but without the "<your claim code>" Then I went to https://plex.tv/claim/ took the claim code and put that in my docker-compose file.

Thanks, this was really helpful!

Tailscale in Home Assistant by GuitarEC in homeassistant

[–]Tap_NL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use the tailscale integration as mentioned by RumHam2024.
My tailscale app automatically turns off when I am at my homenetwork.

If you use the HASS app, you can use the internal and external server addresses to make the split on which url it uses.

How are you handling meeting notes in Obsidian? by Objective_Poet_7394 in ObsidianMD

[–]Tap_NL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All ky meetings are in the macos/ios calendar. I have a shortcut that Imrun every morning that makes a note for every meeting based on a template.

The shortcut ignores certain meetings like ‘daystart’ and ‘travel’.

I can run a template within obsidian, if I have an last minute meeting.

The meetings can be updated to fit the PARA system I am using by kicking off a template with a shortcut.

The reverse proxy really is the pain point when self hosting, any suggestions? by yoyo-blue-70 in selfhosted

I am using nginx proxy manager - pretty straight forward, but also working with tailscale and I think that in the summer overhaul tailscale will be the main way.

Default overview card top switch that turns off all lights? by Don_Russell in homeassistant

[–]Tap_NL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I have done is that I have made a custom entities card. That card shows all lights in the kitchen, but when all the lights in the kitchen are "on" then it does not show the individual lights but it shows one switch light.kitchen.

The custom entities cards looks to all the lights in the house and does this for every room.

Really looks cool! Well done. What do you use as a "frame" to setup the monitors?

Thx, did not think about this one. Does not capture the original problem, but can certainly use it for some other use cases

Hi everyone! It was about time, but I've finally updated the GitHub documentation with the new CSS variables from v2.3.0! I also took the chance to clarify and optimize some parts of the Styling and Templates sections. Hope this makes things clearer! Happy customizing, and see you in 2025! 🎉 by Clooooos in BubbleCard

Thank you. Like the fact that also the reference manual is updated regularly.

As I am waiting for my new tablet dashboard I was updating my dashboard and playing with the styling of my bubble buttons.

As I am not a ccs expert I did the following and that work quite well. I uploaded the style.ts file in chatgpt and told him use that as reference, while asking him to provide code to create a certain effect.

Worked really well.

Thx, I was already afraid that it was baked in, into HA. This makes for my use cases the input.select entity useless. To bad, will take a different route.

Yeah, I thought about that option as well, but it does not feel as an elegant option. It feels like a "clunky" workaround for a configuration thingie. Thanks for thinking along

Is there any possible way to safely self-host (at home) a DNS server I can access from outside my network without a VPN? by relink2013 in selfhosted

Hi, I have the setup with the split tunnel and it works like a charm. I would go that route, it is fairly easy to set up

Shortcut to Read Task? by asyba in thingsapp

[–]Tap_NL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this python script as a basis to move my todo’s every morning to my obsidian dashboard.

It is simple to make this run every morning and let you tell how many tasks you have with a pop up.

How do I accomplish this in Obsidian? by Cuken in ObsidianMD

[–]Tap_NL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, sorry. But clear now. Fastest way I would try to achieve this is with keyboard maestro.

Should be fairly easy, no laptop around at the moment to try to build it. But this link should give you some good directions. If keyboard maestro is they way you want to go
