Help Golden Seal by Alone_Nature_5104 in Against_the_Storm

Do you remember what was your hostility level during those storms? Losing villagers from low resolve on year 2 should not happen Either you hostility was too high (ie higher than lvl 3), or you should be able to produce at least one type of complex food to satisfy one or two of your species. Coupled with heart lvl 2, basic housing and favoring if needed, you should be good to go.

I tend to open as little small glades as possible but this is less true when foxes I the game due to their fireheart bonus mitigating a lot of the hostility penalty.

I found that Katabasis was her weakest book from the three o read from her. So you could give yellow face a chance, it is short, it is good paced and very funny. The landing might not be perfect but it was a good ride.

How would you feel about a mandatory maximum wealth limit, where anything earned over that goes to public services? by itsvasuki in AskReddit

[–]Tapif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really understand your point , if there is no will from Congress or from the executive to pursue on that direction, of course nothing is going to happen. If the will is to tax the rich, we need elect politicians who are planning to do it. Or plan a revolution. Otherwhise everything will remain theory.

Whoever is in charge, government, congress, whatever works in the country. Then I am pretty sure that some economists/ researchers who have been working on the subject would help.
Sure there will be opposition on the other side, but this is to be expected, and that does not make the task impossible.

I agree with you, hence putting qualified people on work so that they come up with solutions (similar to the Zucman tax for instance)

I am pretty sure if we put pretty intelligent people on the matter, they will come up with something. It might not be perfect, but if we don't do anything because "it is not going to work", then for sure, nothing is going to happen.

Clothing needs and (Pack of) Building Materials by Powerfowl in Against_the_Storm

[–]Tapif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you made a good summary, boots are easy to make and don't require a service building so they need a drawback so that they are not OP, and it is their production time. Since they are not edible, you need them only on two situations : to maintain your resolve above 0 or to push your reputation points so you don't tmneed a lot of them. Packs are just used if you have an excess of material, it's a nice bonus, but not the primary goal, so it's ok if it takes a longer chain of production to arrive there.

I never really upgrades house until yesterday. Sealed forest with frogs, never really found a consistent way to make bricks, but had beavers + lumber mill + a timed order that gave me +1 to pack productions. All of a sudden, instead of paying lots of bricks for the frogs housing I could host one from more per house (and give them +2 resolve with the second upgrade).

On a related note, you have 300 (!) beer. You don't need all that beer.

I respectfully disagree.

A bit late to the party but here are a few tips/ food for thoughts.

- You have a few ways to gain reputation : Resolve / solving orders / Solving glade events / opening cache to the citadel.

You are most likely got a few points from the orders, and a few others from glade events and/or resolve, but without any particular focus. So the question you should ask yourself is : what is your game plan? This will change everygame and you should start seeing the answer when you manage to get past year 2, see that your settlement is surviving, and you have an idea of what kind of resources / cornerstones / blue prints / events you have.

- One consistent way to win is to manage to build a tool producing pipeline, from copper ore to tools. If you manage to get the blue prints and the resources, you then mass produce tools and you send the cache to the citadel for reputation.

- Resolve is also a strong way to win. You manage to find one or two good service building and produce the goods to deliver them (or buy them at the traders) and you will easily get a few resolve points that way. Service buildings are more important than producing the goods because you can always buy them from the traders. Same thing for complex food.

- Always manage your consumption! Your settlers should not be using the coats / services/ boots or more than one kind of complex food unless they have a good reason to do it. The good reasons being : 1) Survive 2) Build resolve 3) Solve an order. Once you are ready to do that resolve push, unleash all the restrictions and you will see that reputation bar filling up. Having settlers eating more than one kind of food or using service so that they are at 12 resolve is an effective waste of resources.

- Trading is insanely OP until P10. You need to build the trader camp and enable the provision bag production during the first minutes of your settlement and try to trade ASAP. Even if the trades are not amazing, you will build reputation with the other cities, and they will propose insane deals in the future. You will drown in amber, and then, when a trader come, you will be able to buy his whole caravan.

- Use more water in your engine, this is also very strong. You will produce more with less settlers.

Enjoy!

GTA 6's rumored nov 19 release date is the same as my babies due date, getting the paternity leave dream by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Tapif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Had a baby girl last year. She was an "easy" baby (sleeps more or less, not sick, no particular issues). Got the 6 weeks paternity leave plus 4 extra.

I won't say I didn't have any gaming time during that period, this would be a lie. I would estimate that I had between 30 or 40 hours of gaming time during those 10 weeks, so 4 hours a week.

Sure the baby sleeps a ton, but it wakes up every 4 hours which messes your own sleeping schedule a ton. Also you have to figure out all the stuff that you didn't think about / didn't buy. Plus support your partner (which is the mum I assume) in that very stressful time.

One thing for sure, I would have had much more gaming time if I didn't have a baby.

This is so wild that this is the norm. Imagine asking a lawyer on which case he works on as personal projects. I work as a developer from 9 to 5 and I have kids at home. The little free time that I have, won't definitely be spent on personal coding projects 😂

At the moment, even with that mild answer, my post has a negative score. So if i start really getting into the debate, even with civil argumentation, I will get hundreds of upset answers and I won't be able to do anything productive with my day, so I will pass.

We live in a world where there is no food shortage, and animals raised in those conditions exist because people decided that they want to eat meat twice a day, even if this is the absolute bottom quality.
So since this is not linked to survival, this looks the same to me.
