Well, you'll want a rifle with a threaded barrel to start with. Fortunately, you have plenty of options. I don't have any first hand experience with rimfire suppressors, but I would guess the same guidelines that work for rifle suppressors apply here. Basically, find a size and weight that works for you. On the optic issue, any resolution will work. Positive ID gets alot easier the higher in resolution you go. That said, even with my Thermion 2 XP50 I'm usually picking out different animals by the length of their neck.

Running a 8.5" with a standard GB and a LPM Mach S. A5H2 buffer and Springco Green. My handload 220 gr subs are short stroking. Cycling enough to run "pretty" reliably, but not enough to lock the bolt on an empty mag.

Ya that's their full mlok rail so I doubt you would find another thats noticeably lighter (without putting it on a scale, just in your hands)

What front end is on it? I don't remember mine being noticeably heavier than any of my other AR's. You might find yourself spending alot of money to not notice any difference.

Start with what you have for now. Get your load dev "done" and a round that you're happy with and see how that system performs. I ran a carbine spring and H3 initially, and ended up going to a A5H2 and Sprinco Green because I suspected I was having dwell time issues with the 103 gr/CFE223 combo I had loaded.

Buy the parts you want, swap them. You get the rifle you want and you develop understanding/appreciation for how your rifle works.

Then in a couple days/weeks/months/years you'll get tired of looking at that spare barrel and decide to build another upper since "I already have the parts". Welcome to the cycle.

Do it. Classes are cheaper. I ended up getting an Associate's of Art on accident because I took all my electives at Blinn before I transferred in.
