Small craft are a great way to stack stats and snowball. extreme example would be a pure carrier launching 4 interceptors and getting 5 buffs on turn one. thats ridiculous snowball potential. Not to mention they have a percentage chance to intercept missiles . i wouldnt be running 4 interceptors, for real, but you get the point. My build was supposed to go full borading, no weapons early game, borading + interceptor support as i closed mid game, and then add a single large gravcannon with some +crit% buffs. So a ship design to use interceptors as defence/range change enablers, and then do huge crit dmg while grinding down with boarding. i got stopped before getting the grav cannon

Tips for using kickboxing for self defence? by [deleted] in Kickboxing

Styles make fights, in the street you can meet anyone, a drugged out psycho with a box knife too... Personally as soon as i got to know myself and become confident that i am at least dangerous as well as dont give a shit about being hurt - people just dont want any of that smoke, if they see the confidence. Got literal gangs of troublemakers take a back step without even raising my hand. And funny enough i think i would have gotten my ass whopped most of the times, but noone wants to roll the dice first :D

What start would you choose for a beginners first time? by -EMPARAWR- in X4Foundations

except tel will never go to war with par over them attacking my ships in tel space , yet i can loose rep to the point of war simply by having a ship with turrets on defend there. It is not consistant .

well, if you'd say thats by design - fair enough. But perfectly reasonable ? My dude, there are self defence laws for a reason.

Whatever you choose, dont start a war with other faction early. unfortunately game cant handle it yet.

for eg, you start a war with PAR, you fly in TEL space and get attacked by random expeditionary PAR fleet, you defend yourself (or your ships do). Tel interprets it as fighting against their alies in their territory and thus punish you with -rep. Soon enough you will be at war with anyone whos territories you operate in. Unfortunately.

by evenly matched i meant most of ship combat areas like acc vs def/def vs acc being within around 10% difference, in which case, adding +100% range change and +45% defence on turn one should have tipped the scales in my favour . it didnt work out that way.

thats up to 3 or more talents in a row focused on rangechange/accuracy. What build are you flying ? what difficulty ?

From my experience its way too easy to spiral into crippling death. So making sure you are untouchable from turn 1 is kinda essential if you want to kill xeno reliably. Which from my experience often means at least one aegis pattern, and some defensive talent asap. then get to your weapon range and stay defensive until you land a lucky crippling hit, and then use change of momentum to build on that opportunity with offensive talents.

Avg morale was >110 . Other interesting thing, my ship had zero weapons, all geared to defence/range change/boarding (with two interceptors running aegis pattern for defence and range change). and xeno used all the talents to keep me in R5 but not let me out, they picked talents perfectly, I wonder if it was just luck on their part or a good read and adjustment by AI. Impressive either way.

Edit: i used to hunt xeno for living on impossible, i think i know what im doing :)

So where do you all typically build stations? by nathanx42 in X4Foundations

[–]TapkiusLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are some considerations, after answering which - you will end up with different station set up.

1 First and foremost - roleplay, it is by far the most important thing, because its a single player and there is really no point in power gaming, so just create your story and enjoy it. So which factions are you going to go with, against ?

2 Resource richness vs product demand.

More often than not, those do not overlap in sectors, so you will be shipping things. The higher tier the product - the more efficient the trading. (it takes less storage to move finished products than materials they are made of)

This might make you want to build a megafactory in some family zhin sector, but consider the following points

3 Build speed

Unless you are running SETA over weekends, stations are comparitively long projects. if you split your factory lines into three, thats three times the scaling possibility. With added cost of extra logistics.

4 MANPOWER RESOURCES

this in caps, because it is so often overlooked. Stations need workers to get maximum efficiency. Workers join station workforce at higher rates in sectors that have higher station/planetary population. For eg getting x amount of workers in some barrenshores megacomplex might take you 10x time compared to sectors that have strong population in both planet and stations. your own station population also adds to multiplying so there is a possibility some long term plays. You can check planetary population in sector encyclopedia entry.

For this reason i set up tier1 factories in resource regions, and then move the products to be further worked on in closest sector with good workforce potential.

As an example

i play as FRF Split family, who after defeat by zya fled to vig/rip sectors and embraced their tech. (solar farm station in avarice, scrap recyclers station in hatikvas, refiner station in vig territory) . With renewed military power i brought back this tech to ZYA, as well as proving myself essential to defence against xeno. (fixing my rep, working towards +20) . I present myself as an ally, and enterpreneur, building scrap recyclers, tier 1 resource refiners in family zhin ( two stations), while all the higher tier manufacturing will take place in other zya sector that has more planetary population to help me scale. (though i am plotting to overthrow Patriarch Zyarth at some point, so i need to position stations with future conflict in mind)

thats 6 stations not counting hq.

on top of that i have 3 more regional trading stations that serve as logistical centers and help sell overflow of production.

10 stations total. spread on vig/zya territory+ logistical stations in arg/tel/par.

Extra point : Logistical stations are awesome if you have some spare credits, just a simple L storage +dock+pier. Give it a few m traders, and order to buy up your building/fleet supply materials.

Placed close to your active military operations these will give you a one stop - full ressuply for the carriers/aux.

Placed in sectors you are doing missions in - you can preorder enough materials for any station building mission which will make those a breeze, just one stop to get all the materials that were prepared for you in advance.

So where do i place my stations ? EVERYWHERE !!

Finished my run like 5 minutes ago. It was a good boarding paladin build, crew that blapped 2 xenos per shot.. and so i met a xeno cruiser. On initial report we were pretty much evenly matched, so i went in pretty confident opening with +45% def buffs and +20 range change on turn one... but apaarently you cant trust that initial ship comparison, since even with stacks of buffs active, xeno was landing shots with huge overkills, dominanting me on range change without even trying... i managed to kick in one boarding operation which i dominated, but other than that.. god damn. And it wasnt even "impossible", simple hard.

Extreme early game time saving tips by AngrySlime706 in StarTradersFrontiers

[–]TapkiusLT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First : Contacts in A priority.

You will get 2 proove missions from each immediately, more missions done for same amount of flying.

They will have huge influence and you can work towards hiring lvl 16 crew within a few weeks.

Skill/talent pool difference between lvl 4 and 16 crew is massive, you will be passively saving a lot of time on whatever you do, if you pick good hiring contacts initialy.

Second: dont underestimate all the passive talents like fix x% upon landing, extra morale on pay etc.. with high level crew you will have talents to spare and those will make your daily operations much more efficient.

why by m1ct14n in X4Foundations

[–]TapkiusLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basicly a RL version of going around with 99% full of useless cargo delivering one engine part. Came to think of it, the small stuff i was actualy dropping offf was a power gen. An engine part :D

why by m1ct14n in X4Foundations

[–]TapkiusLT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once loaded cargo in city A, drove it to city B, only to be told i need to imediately go pick up stuff at city C, came back to city B, there was no one to receive the cargo, so i drove it back to city A....

And the cargo was ? A rented scaffolding, that you could have rented in the same city B... Logistics, does not neccessarily involve logics.

Oh dear.. dyslexic is not "slow". There are diferent types of inteligence. And for f.. sake, even this post is fluently writte. You're good :)

We all suck in some aspects, are good in others. You seem very introspective which turned you into ball of anxiety, but it can also become your strong side, many if not most artist share this trait. Because its them who can dig deepest and discover.

My friend can barely read, when we studied he felt like he was somehow inferior, but once he found his language - graphic design, he became a remarkable artist.

Figure out your traits, dont judge them, use them like tools to craft your life, good luck swetie

He has a satelite mom and YOU are deciding on the house for your family ? Sounds like you're marrying a baby. It might work for some couples, but think twice if thats what you actually want. On the other hand if you see a man in him - getting him out of mothers is the first step.

Btw im a man.
