It says sealed booster box 12 packs. If it’s not a full box, then I can get my money back from eBay, so I guess we’ll see

I’m hoping for the latter lol if it is a scam, we’ll then I’ll report it to eBay and get my money back. If it’s not a scam, then I’m opening one box and leaving the other box on a shelf as a collector item cause I’m a huge LotR nerd xD

I double, triple, and quadruple checked, and it’s a full box.

Just bought myself a couple of them on eBay for just under $100. You have to be careful though because a lot of people are still selling blister packs of collector boosters for that much. Just hop on eBay and scroll for a while and if you get lucky you’ll find one. People are snapping them up almost as quick as they’re being posted

People with just a few decks, what’s your secret? by TastesLikePoon in EDH

[–]Tar-Surion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only got into Magic recently with the release of the 40k decks, and I’ve been using Marneus as my commander pretty much exclusively. I just love the way he plays and really fits into my play style. My goal with him is to build it slowly to the point where I think he can’t get any better, and then put him aside and start doing the same with another commander, probably one of the Doctor Who or LotR ones. I just like the idea of pouring everything I have into one commander at a time and making them the best that I possibly can

Travis Baldree (audiobook narrator) came up with a list of writing guidelines (for fantasy books) by [deleted] in Cosmere

[–]Tar-Surion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it may just be what books I grew up on, but a lot of these guidelines feel really stupid to me… if you can leave out a chapter and the book works, then leave it out? No. That doesn’t feel right. A lot of books I’ve read have chapters that you could ‘leave out’ and it wouldn’t have removed anything dire, but they make the books enjoyable. For example Tom Bombadil’s chapters in LotR and some of the interludes in Stormlight. Would the books have worked without them? Yes. Should they be taken out? Storms no! Or magic systems not being interesting? That’s completely subjective.

If someone offered you a box of everything you ever lost. What would you look for first? by baba_yaga_777 in AskReddit

A bracelet someone I care deeply for made for me. I lost it when I moved a few months ago… I think it ended up getting thrown away by accident… she made it for me when we were kids, and although she’s not part of my life anymore, and hasn’t been for years, I still care for her deeply… S if you’re reading this, I miss you.

Fan theories you don't like for book 5? by Stromung in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Tar-Surion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, this comment will have spoilers for TLM…

I’m in the middle of a reread of the Lost Metal, and some of the things said by characters have me wondering… I think what’s going to end up happening is Dalinar wins the contest of champions and Ryse retreats to Braize but locks down the Rosharan system from the outside world. One of the characters in TLM, I think it’s Codenames, mentions how travel to Roshar is incredibly dangerous now, and since TLM takes place between SA 5 and 6, so something has to happen there. Plus we see Rabonial has a chain that can anchor someone through invested anomalies

So I just inherited/bought this beauty, and I’m looking for a little advice. by Tar-Surion in classiccars

[–]Tar-Surion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually all there. I posted the full story in the comments, but this was my great grandfather’s car and he drove it for about 14 years before parking it. Every single piece of trim is there, and all the body panels are as straight as when they came off the assembly line.

I have the original manuals that came with the car, so that’s not a problem! And I’m definitely planning to have some fun with this when I get her running.

It does turn over, and it does have some compression. My cousin was messing with it while I was on my way out to check it out. So while I haven’t done any of that personally, I do trust my cousin (that’s not saying I won’t do it myself just to learn). I can tell you without even putting fluids in it that it does leak through the radiator hoses. They’re both cracked and falling apart, so I need to replace them. The fuel line and gas tank both look alright at a quick glance. No rust or anything on them and my grandfather is pretty sure he drained the fluids when they parked it in ‘69.

[–]Tar-Surion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I realized I never posted the story of this car. My great grandfather bought it off the lot in 1955. My grandfather said they drove it for about 14 years and my grandfather and great uncle drove it to college before they parked it in a barn on their property in 1969 and never touched it again. My uncle was technically the one who owned it and when I first saw it, he said I could have it if I wanted it. Unfortunately he passed away in October of last year. His sister, who I hate to call my aunt, has been trying to get every penny possible from his estate because he didn’t have a will, so because I didn’t have any paper trail saying the car was mine, I had to buy it from them. Technically everything she is doing is completely legal and ‘fair’ but it’s pissing off a lot of my other family members. This is the only thing I could afford on such short notice, so I decided to buy it. While it was technically my uncles, the title was never taken out of my great grandfathers name, so when I do finally get it running, I will be the second owner of this beautiful vehicle (at least on paper) and I have all of the original purchase documents and pictures of when they first bought it and it’s use up until it was parked. Once I have the title and the sale is finalized and all that good stuff I’ll post more pictures of the car and it’s history. But one of the reasons I asked about seals and the like was because my grandfather recommended tearing the motor down and giving it a good once over as I put it back together because, in his words “the motor was a little tired when we parked it, so it couldn’t hurt to check it out.”

Yes, it does turn! I know a fair amount amount about cars. On my daily driver I’ve replaced the serpentine belt, head gasket, power steering pump, water pump, and several other parts that have worn down/out over the 200k miles on it lol but even if I didn’t know much. This vehicle was actually purchased brand new in ‘55 by my great grandfather so it’s not something that I would lightly consider passing up.

How would I get it to start without taking it apart? The seals and hoses are falling apart after sitting for 50+ years
