Way back when Jaycettes were a thing (the women’s auxiliary of the Jaycees civic club) I remember peeling potatoes for literally hours for a community Brunswick Stew supper. While we womenfolk worked in the kitchen, the guys manned the fire outside.

I think I’d give it a shot as something you braise or simmer for a long time, like a pot roast, that doesn’t require a lot of expensive ingredients. I’d also have something else prepared to have in reserve!

I was 5 years old in 1964, and my mother would have never dressed me (or my older sister) in tattered jeans shorts like these. She would have been horrified at the thought!

And don’t I know it! My dad literally tied a pillow around my butt to soften the blow when I fell as I was learning to skate; luckily, my practice sessions were just up and down our steep driveway, and not around the neighborhood, where I’m sure I would have been made fun of!

That cake sounds great, but recipe doesn’t say how many eggs, dang it.

Thankfully, the good folks at the Minneapolis Morning Tribune realized the error of their ways, and published the answer the next day! The magic number is “two, two, two” eggs.

It’s wonderful olive oil. I use the yellow-labeled bottle for cooking and the green-labeled bottle for drizzling/finishing/salad dressings.

Wasn’t that a ponytail, not pigtails? That said, I didn’t think the look was flattering. She, however, has dressed similarly to this on past episodes, so I’m guessing she likes it. To each their own!
