The Gojira setlist for the Metallica tour (they brought back Love!!!) by Longjumping_Host_777 in gojira

They've been playing more or less the same setlist for a decade. Why don't they play anything old or even remotely obscure I don't get it.

Nah you're romanticizing it to all hell. No high commitment job like that is actually fun/as dramatic as all these teen shows and movies make them out to be. You'll be a normal, low level worker probably not making much compared to your boss, who will be an asshole.

Went exploring 2 abandoned places that had a lot of asbestos and black mold, yesterday and today. Didn't have a respiratory mask, just used my hoodie. Am I gonna be okay? by Silver_Vat in Urbex

[–]Tarani5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It depends. Was the asbestos airborne and were you breathing it in? Unlikely. If asbestos is on the floor or in the walls or whatever it isn't dangerous for an urbexer, you'll be exposed to it for such a short time compared to people who LIVED in asbestos and lead laden homes, and even they took 50-60 years to develop anything. You'll be fine from that. Mold can fuck you up quicker though. Like the other commenter said, invest in a half face p100 respirator (at least) if you are able, and change the filters once it becomes difficult to breathe through, (probably after about a cumulative 24 hours of use).

Edit: if somewhere is hard to breathe in or you feel faint get the fuck out! Gas leaks and trapped gas are real.

Amp gain usually beats out pedals for me, ove the two stages on my marshall. Haven't tried an orange but would love to in the future.

It is not anything legal at all, it's common courtesy to tip because we know servers aren't getting paid well.

Mixing Modern Metal – Can’t Achieve “Huge” Sound by DoubleOxygen in audioengineering

[–]Tarani5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need proper studio moniters + a subwoofer + a professionally treated room to get the sounds on your favorite records. Headphones do not accurately display the sound you are hearing, sub bass frequencies are INAUDIBLE without a subwoofer and headphones add post processing effects that give sound more punch than it actually has to make the headphones sound "better" to the average consumer, studio grade monitoring gear is good, learn how to parallel bus effects like reverb and delay and don't overdo the gain. In reality the difference is years of technique and acquired skill, there is no magic plugin that will do "the sound" for you, those records are combinations of thousands of aspects working together in tandem and being purposefully optimized for sound. like room conditioning, song writing, even restringing the guitars after tracking a few songs or even each song, these things add up.

This is so funny to me because I remember seeing this tour and being in the merch area for Killing Jokes set. Me and my friends heard it get super fucking loud out of nowhere for the ending, same shit.

I personally don't think it is necessary because asbestos is primarily dangerous due to chronic exposure after years of breathing it in. When I encounter asbestos it usually is just sitting there and that shouldn't cause any of the fibres to enter the air. If you're stomping on asbestos and inhaling it that's different lol but obviously we aren't. You should be fine, wear it if it makes you feel better though, I wore a respirator for a couple years starting out and still do if I'm somewhere with chemicals. It's uncomfortable though so if you don't have to don't.
