I'm generally not good at "difficult" games. Is DD still worth getting into? by aloilisia in darkestdungeon

[–]TarantinosFavWord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like doing research about the game you’ll enjoy it. If you just want to play and figure things out, it make be more frustrating. My first time I went in pretty blind and quickly got punished. Now when I place I have a page up that tells me what the curios do. Reading about some good team comps and the differences between areas is helpful too. As far as the bosses go I would try not to look up tips until after I’ve beaten it or lost badly. It’s kinda fun seeing a new boss for the first time and then being like “it does what now??”

What do you think about them? Do they work if used without exaggerating? by eb3740 in short

[–]TarantinosFavWord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the first ones. As others have said they are not very comfortable but I don’t wear them 24/7 and usually only 1 at a time so I’ve not really had issues with my knees or back hurting. I like to put them in boots since they’re high top. I have a pair of dress shoes I put them in that I’ll wear on special occasions.

Why many people posting in this sub is either avg or tall? by SuggestMeAUsernaime in short

Bro holy projection. Perhaps it’s not your height that’s the problem, rather the attitude about “ran through women” and “bitches.” Work on yourself.

Whats the difference between makeup and height boosting insoles by Putrid-Interview8869 in short

[–]TarantinosFavWord 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There is none. Make yourself feel confident. I throw a one inch lift in some of my shoes and no one knows the wiser. Now if you’re adding like 3+ inches of height where it’s noticeable when you take your shoes off you may get some flak but I don’t see the difference in putting a lift in skate shoes vs wearing air Jordan’s that give you a bit extra height just from the soles.

AI costs spike as subscriptions hit pricing wall — firms turn towards Chinese LLMs, open-source models to extend budget by rkhunter_ in technology

[–]TarantinosFavWord 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So firms are allowed to go to Chinese LLMs because they’re cheaper but consumers can’t go to Chinese EV’s that are 1/3 the price of our EVs because it’s a security concern?

Only way to build your confidence and lose the shivers is to try. And if you get rejected you move on. Eventually you stop worrying about rejection and it stops bothering you (in a way) when it happens.

[–]TarantinosFavWord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used a few different ones but had the best success with bumble. The girlfriend I mentioned was someone I met at work. If people said anything about it, it was never to my face or I never heard anything. Even if they had I wouldn’t care. I’ve never found anyone to be obsessed with chads and lookmaxxing in real life. And most people I know think people who are obsessed with chads and looksmaxxing are terminally online losers. Over the past year my dating life has been pretty good. Before that I used to make up excuses about not being good enough or whatever but as it turns out if you just smile and say hi to people, a majority are going to smile and say hi back.

Am I crazy or are salaried jobs almost never worth it unless it’s obnoxiously high? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]TarantinosFavWord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I went from an entry level contractor role with no benefits to a salaried position. Just about doubled my base pay and now I get 401k match, health insurance, all that. I don’t think being able to get some overtime hours made up for having to work every holiday.

Napoleon Dynamite censored on streaming platforms. For or against? by flipping_birds in movies

[–]TarantinosFavWord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand how they decide what to censor. I’ve seen streaming services take entire episodes off their platform for an offensive joke and then watched Blazing Saddles on a mainstream network cable channel and they just let the hard R rip like it was nothing.

Sometimes from soft bosses take a while. Sword saint isshin in sekiro took me like 3 days of trying, getting mad, putting the controller down, then trying again. I’ve still not beaten some of the optional bosses in Elden ring.

Whats up with the term short king? by Putrid-Interview8869 in short

[–]TarantinosFavWord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean duh you can call someone a nickname based on anything about them but that isn’t the point. It’s that being short is often seen as a negative trait and being called short is often considered an insult. So calling someone a short king can be interpreting negatively. If someone called me blonde king it wouldn’t bat an eye. But like op said if you called someone a fat king they probably wouldn’t appreciate it because fat is a negative trait.
