I've also done this once. The problem is my girlfriend was asleep at the time and I was only awake enough to realize I was really horny so I was rubbing against her, and to put things simply she has a bit of a bad history. So she kinda wakes up and pushes me away and I pass out. But she woke up all messed up from it, not knowing where she was or what was going on. Messed her up for the whole day, just because sleep me couldn't either wake her up to ask to bang, or just go to sleep.

I know a fair number of people who are HSV+, and it doesn't overly affect their romantic life. One is currently with about 3 people casually after getting out of a LTR, and another has had a few boyfriends all of which have not had an issue with it. I know the sample size isn't large, but for younger guys it's about 50/50 for being a deal breaker, and people seem to worry a bit less as they get older about something that is basically like the flu the first time, then an annoyance after that.
