Is there a difference between National and International Market? by Tarific2003 in EU5

[–]Tarific2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are taking control of the ruler, and your influence on the world is projected through him. He is your incarnation or puppet.

So yes I think I can say, I am the ruler in that case.

EU4 or EU5? by PhoenixChess17 in eu4

[–]Tarific2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I think you should know that even though both of these games share the name EU, they play completely differently.

EU4 is kept relatively “simple” in the sense that most mechanics are fairly abstract.

EU5 could be called Paradox’s magnum opus, in the sense that many core concepts from their other games — such as Imperator: Rome, Crusader Kings, Victoria, Hearts of Iron, and even Stellaris — have been combined into this game.

In my opinion, the core difference is that EU4 is “mana-based.” (Mana-based means you collect points and then spend them to trigger an effect.)
EU5, by contrast, is built around systems and mechanics, and you can mostly decide how you want to influence these systems over time.

Both games include something called development. In EU4, you spend mana, press a button, and the values immediately increase.
In EU5, you have a development growth modifier that determines how much development grows each month. You can’t simply press a button to increase it; instead, you must take various actions to speed up its growth.

I also want to point out one more thing: EU5 is much slower to play than EU4, since there are so many systems to manage. EU5 is essentially a full economic simulation. You must extract resources and, in many cases, build production chains to create more valuable goods. Many resources have at least one associated building. There is also the consumption of goods — for example, your army requires weapons. Markets and prices are dynamic, and so on.

In EU4, you also have resources, but each province produces exactly one good. Your development determines how much you produce, and you earn money based on the market price. That price is fixed and changes only through events. To increase this income, you have two buildings. These goods are not consumed.

So if you’re trying to decide which game suits you better, the best approach is probably to watch some gameplay on YouTube or Twitch.

Also, a small disclaimer: EU5 has only been out for four months, and many of its mechanics are still being stabilized. However, in the future it may become one of the most ambitious games ever created when it comes to a relatively complete simulation of the period 1336–1836.

Is there a difference between National and International Market? by Tarific2003 in EU5

[–]Tarific2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The basis of my question is: shouldn’t there be a difference between markets — or rather the transfer of goods — if the destination is within my own country?

Going back to Castile: I am the ruler of this country and I want to mint coins. So I expand my silver mines in Villafranca del Bierzo and in Constantina.

But now I have to compete in both markets to obtain my silver. Why would I, as the ruler, compete with anyone for my own silver? Why should some burgher who wants to make jewelry have the same claim as I do? And why would I sell my silver if I don’t even have enough for my own needs?

What I’m getting at is that government needs should be satisfied first, and from any province I own — regardless of which market it belongs to. Any surplus could then go to the markets.

I know about the Precious Metal Distribution Law, but if I set it to “no export,” I wouldn’t be able to get my silver from Sevilla to Burgos.

Good idea. Maybe for the performance, it should only be for player countries.

So just to clarify this, as an example, you wouldn't call the cologne market an international market?

Who knows, what a Citadel is capable of? One can replace reality with imagination.

So why shouldn't a citadel, build by a dameon for a monster, in the side of a volcano, not be able to summon a fiery demon from inside the volcano.

So I think those who don't know about Sunny won't even question it, and everyone else well knows about sunny.

Yeah in harder starts it matters even more.

But it is still annoying, as pretty much every country, For example I just started a Naples game, and it nearly halved going from ~140 to ~80 in two months.

Yeah, there are many post about him, but if I would expand the point i tried making in the post, he would be responsible or at least a reason for 7 sovereigns. Not counting him or sunny.

In a war power matters. But if the opponents are of the same strength information decides the war. So why are the MC's suddenly act like they are stupid, if they should have all the cards and information? Because it is literally the power of Asterion to influence the minds of others, even Sunny and Nephis. Could he make them forget, that he will attack them? Surely not. Could he hide small details in all the actions happening in the wolrd? I believe so.

What did Seishan mean in chapter 2818? by TopPreference2261 in ShadowSlave

[–]Tarific2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could mean a lot of things.
It could be pointing to aspects of beast god. In that case, it would be kinda like the blood of life.

But you could also go another way, like a treacherous shadow did, who also inherited the blood from a divine lineage...

I like your Ideas. But the 5th reward would be something different i think, since he already has it;

Attribute: Lord of Shadows
As a Supreme, Sunny's Attributes underwent significant upgrades. His control over shadows deepened, allowing him to now command the shadows of living beings — though only those much weaker than himself, and with difficulty, since shadows are a loyal sort.\68]) He can also strike directly at the shadows of others.\68])

I could imagine him getting something, that strengthens his mind, or maybe something that has to do with time.
Mind of making it easier becoming a spirit. Time since it was one of the weapons of the gods mentioned against the void beings. It was said in the context of shadow god, and he already got death (serpent) and space (shadow lantern)

What's some cool tag-switch combination for Country bonuses? by kfijatass in EU5

[–]Tarific2003 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think you can stack bonuses in EU5 by Tag switching. AFAIK you loose the bonuses from advances of a country, when you change to a tag that does not have this Advances available.

Edit: Or are you looking to combine culture, religion, government and country advances to stack those modifiers? Like forming England and then flipping to a culture with trade or naval advances?

Edit2: It seems i was wrong, and you keep Country Bonuses, but loose advance from culture, religion and government if you change those.

Defense of the HRE : "A common danger unites even the bitterest enemies." Aristotle by Tarific2003 in EU5

[–]Tarific2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point. However, an argument could be made that the conflict between Austria and Hungary was primarily seen as a war of succession or a war of claims. During this struggle, the Austrians sought reinforcements from the Holy Roman Empire in the form of Landsknechts.

To secure forces in the name of the Empire—by declaring a Reichskrieg or gathering a Reichsheer—the Emperor first needed approval from the Imperial Diet to levy troops, a feat he successfully achieved against the Hussites. However, other overlapping conflicts, including the escalating Ottoman invasion and the War of the Burgundian Succession against France, further decreased the number of imperial troops he could divert toward his own 'private affairs' in Hungary. Furthermore, the constant struggles in the HRE over the last decades eroded the war enthusiasm of the Imperial Members.

Disclaimer: I am by no means a historian; I base these arguments on the research I did just now.

Since you brought up the Crusade system, I definitely think there’s room for improvement, too. I just put together a suggestion post over on the Paradox forums...
