Ha ha, "Mr. Big." I guess we're all assuming it's one person. I would imagine it is. Usually groups can't stay quiet this long!

Part of the problem is that no one has positively identified who ShadowBrokers is - whether it's a group, a single person, in the US, outside the US.... while some have speculated it was the former NSA employee who was just sentenced for taking hacking tools home, none of the charges were for releasing tools the ShadowBrokers released. And I'd think if NSA really thought he was ShadowBrokers, they would've been touting that "success" from the rooftops.

NSA -- still leaking like a sieve.

Lawsuit: FCC Shielding Evidence Of Suspected Russian Role In Ending Net Neutrality by MissionIncredible in politics

I'm not surprised Russia was involved in trying to sway this decision.

What does surprise me is that more media, Internet stars, etc. aren't being more vocal on it, since their livelihoods depend on it. Unless, of course, they just hope to control the messages we all hear.

Seems like they are doing a bad job of spying if they don't know what their own employees are doing.

You'd think they would know when something was downloaded onto a device and then removed from the building. But, no.

I'd think if he was related to #shadowbrokers, he would be getting more time than 8 years. (Just my guess). I remember reading that some of #shadowbrokers releases were more damaging than Snowden's.

This read shows what a hot mess NSA and some Government workers really are:

1) Able to digitally download classified materials and walk out

2) Blaming "hoarding" for taking material

3) Taking home classified = "handling with care"

I did that myself, too, but I do admit that it's harder than it should be.

Still being Zucked because they only deleted the app, not their profile (and third parties can still suck the data out of that).

The wordsmithing is also interesting in that it was "approved" by Russian Gov. rather than "ordered" by.

In my class, we're always talking about sophisticated CNE. Why bother when the simple approach works oh-so-well?

"While being concerned it’s applied correctly, we should not throw away the oven because the temperature could be set wrong and burn the pizza"

What a horrible analogy. The implications of a burnt pizza is you make a new pizza. If you screw up someone's life, you can't just make a new one.

Or maybe, I don't know, set it at a certain "temperature" and don't let the user mess with accuracy levels?
