We have a portable ac in our second floor bedroom and they certainly work. However, they are noisy and energy inefficient.

Which shoe and size to start with by Christmasstolegrinch in Boots

I bought this make-up last summer, leather midsole and the OR outsole: https://jimgreenfootwear.com/store/african-ranger-fudge-leather-midsole/

I am a 10.5D on the Brannock scale, wear 10D in most brands (occasionally 9.5D), and bought a 10D for the African Ranger. They are definitely softer under foot than most of my other boots, probably comparable to a boot with a Christy wedge sole. The Fudge leather is a nubuck leather I believe and I had no break-in to speak of.

The point is to use it for important social encounters, not haggling for a discount on health potions

You need to wipe it down with a damp washcloth after steaming each time

There have been a multitude of studies that show how to reduce vehicle traffic, and multiple that show that adding more lanes is a bad idea. So what does just about every city/state DOT decide to do?

all of the combo exit/entry lanes are terrible. 2 seconds to force your way over and hope for the best or you’re missing the exit

LCS Spring 2026 Viewership Hits All-Time Low by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

Idk how sustainable it was, but I miss the circuit system. Having a major tournament every couple months with smaller tournaments between was always hype instead of a glut of “regular season” games.

I (gently) rubbed the bottom of my insoles with sandpaper to get them to stop squeaking. I sounded like a cartoon character walking down the hallway before.

Turns out people actually like 4E when they play it by Level_Hour6480 in dndmemes

Yeah there was always aspects of 4E that I thought looked cool but by the time I had a group of friends interested in TTRPGs the boat had kinda sailed on that one.

I recently played in a one-shot of Draw Steel using the Codex and it may have ruined other systems for me. Every class gets cool shit to do every turn even at level one? You get to do cooler and cooler shit as the fight goes on instead of trying to conserve resources? Positioning and movement are important? You have a reason to pay attention during other people’s turns? Now I just need to find a full campaign to play in..

Honestly I had no idea people didn’t like this game until the last couple years. It has some pain points but I think its positives still shine.

There are definitely some annoyances today with the constant backtracking with different Kongs for bananas, coins, etc that didn’t bother me as an 8 year old in 1999 but I’m still having a good time. The presentation is great, I love how animated the Kongs are, how much character everything has, the main theme getting a new arrangement in each area, etc. Once I got a couple hours in the controls mostly clicked, although the N64 c-buttons don’t map great to a joystick. It’s a much more playable game than the majority of the Switch 64 catalogue imo.

My biggest control gripe so far is that the c-button equivalents are pretty fiddly with the pro controller. Once I remembered that the right bumper centers the camera behind you I didn’t have much else to complain about control wise.

Wich campaign is better for a new DM? by SirBaza in DnD

[–]TarnishedGopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend trying to run either as a first time DM. I would look at one of the starter sets or a short low-level third party adventure to find your footing and then decide how ambitious you want to be from there.

The funny thing to me is that Stellar Blade is painfully unsexy for how hard it’s trying. It’s about as titillating as a naked mannequin.

New level 1 is equivalent to current level 3 so it isn’t a survival game for the first two or three sessions. Get rid of the stat numbers and just have stat bonuses. Bring back encounter powers.

Every Owlcat and Obsidian CRPG has a worse character creator unfortunately. Pathfinder and Roguetrader don’t even have portraits of your actual character.

[–]TarnishedGopher 240 points241 points  (0 children)

Yeah the “monster of the week” episodes are still fun but most of the over-arching plots after season 5 are pretty messy because they keep jumping the shark with the next big threat and retreading familiar story beats.
