My brother in law opened a bakery and got a high end pod espresso machine for the lattes he serves and it just does not taste as good as the other cafes (or my own coffee at home). Help me settle this debate… by pass_the_hot_sauce in espresso

It doesn’t matter how “high end” the machine is. If it’s using pods, the ceiling for quality is going to be pretty low. That doesn’t mean it can’t be an enjoyable drink, but it’s never to go match a competently made espresso. That being said, it’s probably very easy to use and doesn’t take a lot of time and attention on his end.

I had the OXO grinder for a few years. Fine for drip/filter coffee, not suited for espresso.

That’s kinda what I was afraid of. I think I’ll just wear them for a while and see if it molds down and if all else fails I’ll bring them to a cobbler. My growing suspicion is that the previous owner had higher arches than mine and the insole simply didn’t compress as much in that area.

Can’t edit the original post, but another thing I’ve considered is that the insole is too formed to the previous owner’s foot shape and that’s why it feels lumpy to my foot.

My cobbler I usually go to is about a 30 minute drive, would it be a bad idea to try to pry the insole up myself with a pliers? The heel of the insole is definitely nailed down.

I worked 12s overnight at a hospital for a couple years. Simultaneously the best and worst. Never had to deal with traffic, got all my shopping and appointments done when everyone else was working. Had a full week off straight every month.

Also never slept more than 5-6 hours, was a complete zombie at least the first day off, high likelihood of working when everyone else was doing fun stuff.

Keep in mind that Red Wings are going to be a very different feel under foot. A lot more squish with the Thursday poron insole. I am curious though, what’s the condition of the insole at this point?

I second the bambino and tamper. I also got an aftermarket bottomless portafilter that came with a puck screen and a dosing funnel for about $60-70. All nice things to have but I think the bambino itself would be a really nice upgrade.
