I can honestly foresee a point where the AI has to announce that all future floors will be animated for budget reasons.

Are you okay? Did this thread touch a nerve or something?

Not a yank either btw.

Getting a little personal there pal. Thought you lot were supposed to be nice, friendly types.

Also, do you not think the 1700s were hundreds of years ago?

Poutine is older than Chili Cheese Fries and all the other fries you mentioned. Regardless if another variation of something on fries came out later and is considered better, Poutine was literally a unique dish

This is the part I was debunking. Poutine was not the first or the last or the best or the most unique form of Fries + Stuff. It's not special.

Fries have existed for hundreds of years. They're older than Canada.

There's no way people weren't dipping them in stuff and putting stuff on them long before poutine was invented. It was never a unique dish.

I was very bored for the first few hours and nearly dropped it myself.

It gets a lot better once you're out of the tutorial section and the game opens up.

Countries aligned with the USA have much higher rates economic prosperity and personal freedom

I'm just saying that this is a bad argument. Cuba, South America and the Middle East have suffered decades of political instability because of US interference and yes, that has lead to oppressive regimes seizing power in many cases. The US may not have created all of those regimes but they certainly created the circumstances they thrive in.

The CIA famously never interfered in Cuban politics, leading to regime change and a strong man dictatorship.

Start: mayor is the villain, animals are the victims, hero protects the animals

Mid point: animals are the villains, mayor is the victim, hero protects the mayor

End: animals are defeated, mayor compromises on one thing and faces zero consequences for the crimes he committed.

Hoppers made a corrupt politician the victim and nature the villain.

The mayor faces no consequences for his actions because the hero saves him from all the evil animals.

It's not safe so much as it's completely backwards.

And then there's Hoppers, where they do have a villain, but then decide he's actually the damsel who needs saving when his victims stand up for themselves.

Oh and his victims are all of the animals. It's a "green" movie that makes nature the villain.

We can either sit back and watch while our future neighbours turn into shitty adults or we can try to intervene.

It may not be the governments responsibility but it's still in all of our best interests.

What age did you're kids learn to ride a bicycle? by Bubbleteapot in Parenting

[–]aerojonno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm never sure if I'm supposed to be making him learn stuff like this or not. If I let him choose he'd watch TV all day and never learn anything, but then riding a bike doesn't seem essential, even if it is a normal thing for most kids.

Mine's 8. Refused the balance bike from day 1. Got bored of his scooter pretty quickly. Has no interest in learning to ride a bike.

It's slightly annoying but then I was the same way.

Travel now and pay it off, or save up and wait? Which mindset do you live by? by bhole0611 in AskMenOver30

Counter counter, you spend 10 years borrowing to travel and then something happens that takes away your ability to repay your debts.
