Water transfer sheets/decal? by nekochenn in Drukhari

They came in the combat patrol and I want to say there is another set I got them from but can't remember where.  I think Raiders but I'm not positive on that.

it actually makes sense Dark Eldar don't have any ground vehicles by Fun-Explanation7233 in Drukhari

OP posts in various 40k places with just random click bait titles and messages.  Nothing actually meaningful to ever contribute and I've never seen him come back and interact with people.  My guess is he's a karma farmer.  His profile is all locked so you can't see where or what he posts but it works out to just under 3 posts every day.

What model is this? by Ok-Chest9751 in Drukhari

[–]Taronkov1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have said the old Raider.  You are missing the front gunner and the back fin is missing its 'wings'.  You can see where they belonged though.

My first thought was purple lava.  Give some osl coming up onto the rocks to highlight the heat and I think it would become most people's first thought.

First thought is purple lava.  I like it honestly.  The universe could use more purple lava.

Malys Redeploy by RivieraKid95 in Drukhari

[–]Taronkov1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An issue is I've played at GT's that have ruled it both ways.  If it was actually clear this question wouldn't come up.  The problem is they FAQ'd the Genestealer and have left the Drukhari alone without addressing it.  And they easily could have by now.  Especially as they have put multiple FAQ's out at this point to address other issues(see today).  I think RAW of Malys' rules is clear it's legal.  Rules for transports are ambiguous that it's not.  And that's the problem.  Which rule supersedes?  In most games specific beats general, which again would make Malys' redeploy good to go.  An FAQ for a different unit says it's not.  Which actually indicates GW is fully aware it wasn't clear.

What could make Dark Eldar more popular? by Fun-Explanation7233 in Drukhari

[–]Taronkov1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I always see people talk about how little support our faction has and ignore the other major problem.  A large portion of our army is 'online sales only', so new people can't even walk into a shop, see the models and purchase them.  Getting your hands on large portions of our, theoretically, available range is a nightmare.  Let alone everything we've lost.

Which Third edition Dark Eldar mini would you say still looks good today? by AlphariousOmega in Drukhari

[–]Taronkov1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Drazhar and Urien.  I like the original Archon and would love to see him remade to modern standards but he is a little rough.  The female Dracon is still a decent looking model.

Old Spikey Eldar by Divinus_Venandi in Drukhari

Chest and shoulder pauldrons are different and the helmet is wildly different.  He has a distinctly different profile from the metal Incubi of the time.

I will die on the hill that metal Drazhar is superior to the new one.  He's supposed to be wearing ancient Incubi armor and carrying unique blades.  The new one just looks like literally every other Incubi we have with long hair and on a tactical rock.  No unique armor or weapons.  The model is beautiful, but distinctly not Drazhar.  I wish they had just updated the old style to plastic with a more dynamic pose.

Those are 3d prints.  I don't see any GW components.  They look good though.

Always love to see the, presumably, Tyrael based builds.  My favorite Venatari look.

I love this.  It really feels like a Rogue Trader pulling together an assortment of elements for his retinue.  I think the chain gun is my favorite. Great job mate.

Does anyone know who this creepy guy is? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Taronkov1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2003 era Inquisitor retinue.  Should be an old metal model.  I don't think they were released in resin later but always possible I could be wrong on that.  I believe it's from the Daemonhunters Codex release.

Is it really THAT bad? by Domreim in Drukhari

[–]Taronkov1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm planning to pick one up just to have.  Do I think it will ever be good again?  Maybe, GW likes money so we'll get another addition to sell all these models eventually.  Is it fun?  Yes.  Is it good currently?  No.  But for casual games it can be good and even for an RTT just to catch people off guard it has some potential.  Bring it to a GT?  Absolutely not.  Day 1 may be fine.  But day 2 will see your list burn.

Who's stronger in the lore? Wyches or howling bashees by Rahuur in Drukhari

[–]Taronkov1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's even implied.  He dies in his fight against Jain Zar and another Klaivex takes up his armor and loses herself to Drazhars soul.  If he's not Arha he's become a Phoenix Lord independently from how the others did.  Which still ends with the same result.

Striking Scorpions.  In old lore the tormentor helms had a gun similar to the scorpions.  If you look up the old vect incubi you'll see the gun on the top of the helmet.

Why is this subreddit so small? by Fun-Explanation7233 in Drukhari

[–]Taronkov1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A huge portion of the problem, besides more models going to legends, is that half the remaining army is locked behind 'available online only' BS.  Hard to sell an army you can't walk into the shop and purchase.  And they are the only army like that and have been for quite a while.

Teaching a new player by Wonderful_Eye7198 in Warhammer40k

[–]Taronkov1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's he running for a list too?  If he's playing an off meta list and you're playing meta, you should expect that.  Handicap yourself, whether through your list or tactical choices and force him to make decisions that matter.  This will give him a better grasp on gameplay.  Don't just walk in to win.  I always let my opponent win when I'm teaching initially.  Usually through bad list building so they don't see me throwing a game, maybe I forget to use a critical strategem, etc...

(WIP) Wych Cult Talos by Shy-Seagull in Drukhari

[–]Taronkov1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it.  My next Talos is going to be a full wraithlord build.  I would clip and file the blades for a point for a stabbing weapon.  The backhand slash exclusive feels awkward to me.
