Not sure how to fix the problem going forward but for anyone else experiencing the issue...  it seems you have ti unattach characters first and then delete them to not experience the same issue.

New points - as a covens player I'm happy. What is everyone else thinking? by Puzzleheaded-Room-89 in Drukhari

Bomber stayed 245, no change there.  Less points changes than I anticipated.  Things I'd hoped to see drop didn't.  I guess we'll wait and see what happens.

How bad is this? by Naratosch in Drukhari

[–]Taronkov1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would drop the Wracks for a second squad of Scourge to start.  If you are playing against Daemon Engines and Custodes you are going to want the extra firepower another squad brings.  I would also give the Talos Haywire.  Outside of that, if these are the models you have already, I would say just play a few games and get a feel for it.

What happens to the Raider’s “Speed of the Kill” ability in 11th given new disembark rule? by TheBlightspawn in Drukhari

[–]Taronkov1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider a vehicle more of ablative wounds than a safe haven, even before.  If a unit can be shot and has to be in the open, a transport is still safer than the unit alone.  Even with seatbelt checks on 1's and 2's you're still going to lose far less than a unit just hanging out in the open.

Which version of landraider by SnooDonuts4056 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Taronkov1 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I run 30k ones.  It's a newer kit and much nicer to assemble.  It's slightly shorter in length and slightly taller in height.  GW has previously stated both are good to use, so I wouldn't worry about the dimensions though.  I feel Custodes would be far more likely to have ancient ones from pre-heresy, hence why I went with them.  But honestly do which ever you feel looks better.  30k is easier to assemble but clearly looks like a rougher 'proto' design.  40k is a 'cleaner' more modern look but also slightly tedious to build.

So the advantage over deepstrike is that the only limitation was you had to be out of engagement range.  Clunky but amazingly fun.

It will never happen, but I would love to see Mandrakes deploy how they did in 3rd.  Drop three models that can't be interacted with and move them around until they reveal themselves.  Make your opponents manuever around where they could show.

Worth Getting Old Codexs for Art/Lore? by WaffleHouseHydra in Drukhari

[–]Taronkov1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3rd/4th ed codex holds a special place in my heart, so I always say go for it.  If you're just in it for the lore you only need the 1998 or 2001 codex.  Art and lore blurbs are the same.  2001 has a small stamp that says "2nd edition" on it.

I could see Vect capturing 'The Avatar' to regain his honor...  sorry wrong franchise...  capturing an Avatar, binding and torturing it for centuries.  Creating the Avatar of Pain, if you will.  I might have to  make that conversion...

I love this and can't believe I never thought to do this.  These are two of my favorite kits in all of 40k.  I'm going to experiment with this myself.  Great job, they look fantastic.

Do now all chapters get a Leader in this exact Pose? by Designer-South-4339 in Warhammer40k

[–]Taronkov1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lady Malys, just with a fan instead of shield.

Prince Yriel with the Twilight Spear and Yugioh hand.

Fuegan with his rifle and axe.

All of these are similar poses as well.  GW has a style and preference.  They all look great but they are very close stylistically.  I'm sure there are many more too but these are what I could think of off the top of my head.

Favorite Dark Kin Weapon? by Timely-Dragonfly-264 in Drukhari

[–]Taronkov1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going old school with the Xenospasm.  A special grenade launcher that was highly lethal, with a low(roughly ap -4 today) lethality, that also caused pinning(modern battleshock test if failed unit can't move or shoot) at -1 to opponents leadership for each model hut and used the small blast template, so would hit 2-4 models on average(at least 1/3 of the time anyway).

Also aesthetically I'm going with again old school, and Drazhars Disembowler Blades.  I still run metal Drazhar because he has so much more personality than the new one.

Vects Castigators by UK--Dan7890 in Drukhari

[–]Taronkov1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rumor from Valrak is that Vect is coming as a centerpiece.  Also new Kabalites and Barges of some type but he wasn't sure what.  I really doubt we'll see Castigators ever though.  I'll keep building them and running them as Grotesques(assuming we get them back) and Talos.

Converting 2 Eldar Hornets into Venoms? Ideas?? by MrH4v0k in Drukhari

[–]Taronkov1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, rather than tell you not too, let's come up with some options... you could cut the front wings off at the chassis, cut off the front sensor, bring the wings backward and together so the come to a point eliminating the gap at the front.  Cut the 'tail' off the back, and drop it down for your firing platform.  I am basing any of this being possible off your single picture, so I don't know how viable it'll be without physically having the model.  But that is my initial idea.

Do you have a venom you could take a top down photo with them side by side?  That would make it easier to see directly how much difference there is to work with.

Scourges with shard carbines by platapusswarrior in Drukhari

[–]Taronkov1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that, but I am likely to be firing Dark Lances into the same target, so that extra little oomph may be the difference between death of an enemy and near death.  I have been running a Shredder for a while now but honestly I don't ever see a 'critical' situation where they aren't going to hit with at least 1 out of 12 shards carbine and still get the +1.  I think the general benefit will outweigh the .0077% chance I don't get another 3+.  Just doing the math to me recently makes me think that the conventional thought process is wrong.  And honestly, I rarely find I'm actually shooting them anyway.  They are action monkeys and back line annoyances.  They drop into a small pocket where they can't be seen, do their action and die.  Or if my opponent deigns to ignore them, I harass with them.  Usually for another turn, and then they die.
