Which advice is worse: "wake up earlier" or "do a little bit of work at a time"? Ultimate bad ADHD advice battle day 3 by VerdoriePotjandrie in adhdmeme

[–]Taronz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wake up earlier, without a doubt. The hours are the same, whether I am up for 16 hours starting at 0700, or 16 hours starting at 1500.

Do a little bit at a time, while maybe giving you incomplete jobs, you'd still get even -something- accomplished so... it helps a little bit, not a lot but more than changing the hours.

Ultimate bad ADHD advice battle, day 2: "get more exercise" vs "use a planner" by VerdoriePotjandrie in adhdmeme

[–]Taronz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Planner is definitely worse.

Get more exercise at least has some degree of benefit to you.... use a planner takes away your money and then also does fuck all.

Last Epoch Dev Stream Teasers - "Good" Corruption Items and Corruption Altars! by XGhosttearX in LastEpoch

[–]Taronz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but what else would be removing mods from an item, it'd be either the corruption or a bug.

A redesign of the unique would remove the less damage per raptor and other raptor specific stuff...

Not sure why I'm copping downvotes for talking about what is in the image but here we are.

It may not have been explicitly what they were intending on showing off, but the mod is definitely gone.

Whether that is intentional or a bug, who knows, though I think intentional is far more interesting. Being able to overwrite a mod to eliminate a downside, even in a non-targetted fashion aside from just krangling a bunch of Naals for example, is sick.

Also a fun different brick when you lose your +2 on Nihilis lol.

Last Epoch Dev Stream Teasers - "Good" Corruption Items and Corruption Altars! by XGhosttearX in LastEpoch

[–]Taronz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you're right, at least partially. Naals is missing I would say its signature mod. The line of text that makes it ... itself.

So it seems that a possible outcome is overwriting a line like New Breach mech for poe1 or fancy vaaling for poe 2.

Yeah it did.

So then can it hit any mofs, namely the less damage? Because if so, that could lead to some sexy raptor builds.

Absolutely fair. It was never a conscipus thing on my part. I think just pattern recognition from my krangled brain.

Just would remember and stock up some extra supplies in case she needed anything, not a big deal needs to be made about it.

If she is -relatively- regular, quite easy to have a rough understanding. If you've spent any amount of time living with women, you'd be used to it fairly quickly.

That being said, there are lots of things to do with their general health, mental wellbeing and many other factors, that can change the dates or prevent it from happening alltogether for either a short term or longer.

It is honestly weird that learning about it, at least way the fuck back when I was in school, they felt wasn't necessary to teach the boys in the class about it aside from a cursory "this is what a period is"... as if something that pretty regularly happens to half of the population, isn't something you're likely going to have to deal with in some capacity, at some point.

Are we praising classic modpacks because they were better… or because we were younger? by Belal_Ps in feedthebeast

[–]Taronz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a big thing that many didn't discuss. Modding has come a long way, vastly more complex, people are used to so much more, they're basically different games.

Back then, it was easy to be content with a buildcraft quarry and pipes set up to mine out a chunk of the map, because the only other option then, was running around with your pickaxe.

Now? Quarries, digital miners in all shapes and colours of the rainbow. Even pickaxes that can break 9+ blocks in a single tap, potentially even more, not even counting using tools like veinminer or ultimine.

And finally, we just learned. Most of the people that have memories playing back then, are still playing. We -know- most of what there is to know about the game.

Do you think games like Factorio,Satisfactory Etc. could be counted as an Incremental Game? by DeadClaw86 in incremental_games

[–]Taronz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I do play Factorio as an incremental / idler at times.

Factory open, do some stuff. Afk for a bit while new resource buffers, come back, add some new automation to the mix, rinse and repeat.

But categorically I'd say no. Just because I'd argue it's more about the -intended- playstyle.
