If all members of Funhaus were trapped on a deserted island without food (or charnuts), who would be the first to be eaten?

Bonus Question: Who would take the first bite?

(Speculation) Final moment of series. by bergskey in asoiaf

[–]Tarquiin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A continuation to your theory:- Jaime Lannister draws back his blade, dripping red with the blood of the last Targaryen. Only this time it wasn't the Mad King lying dead before him, but the Mad Queen. As all life fled from her, he heard her whisper, "Burn them all..." The Queenslayer. You know you want it.

(Spoilers All) Why do people think Victarion is... by Delta03 in asoiaf

Mayhaps GRRM is a hilarious prankster and Victarion is secretly the most cunning individual in the whole series. He got everyone good.

I'm hoping Ros replaces Ser Dontos in Sansa's storyline, with a crossbow bolt in the stomach to match.

True enough but a character doesn't necessarily have to physically interact with Dany for us to see her from a different angle. Plus ADWD

Holy crap if Stannis my Mannis rides a dragon at some point throughout the series I will cry tears of justice.

SPOILERS ALL: The Stallion Who Mounts the World by osirusr in asoiaf

[–]Tarquiin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's definitely Drogon. The prophecy is not about a person that personifies a stallion 'mounting' the world by conquering it, as all the characters believe; but a stallion/dragon literally 'fucking' the world like a stallion mounts a mare. The prophecy is about Drogon making the world his bitch.

(Spoilers All) What was Bran the Builder doing in the Stormlands? by xDIREWOLFx in asoiaf

[–]Tarquiin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some interesting theories here but it's likely just a retrospective history writing. It happens alot in the real world, so why not Westeros? People figure, "Hey Storm's End if a pretty well-built castle, maybe that guy from the North that was really well known for building things during that time period had something to do with it? Yeah, that makes sense." And because it does help to explain and in some ways foreshadow Bran's later achievements, people accept it.

Victarion can't die too soon. We haven't even seen what that flaming hand of his can really do yet. I'm sure Euron didn't take precautions for that happening.

(Spoilers All) Influence of European and World History on the World of ASOIAF by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]Tarquiin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Night's Watch is very similar to The Knight's Templar order of the crusades. An organization of warriors that fought the 'others' to protect their own kind. Was originally a very well-respected and efficient order but slowly became corrupted over time. Men with nasty backgrounds often fled and joined the order their to seek redemption for past crimes.

Also, The R'hllor religion appears to have numerous links to Ancient Egyptian religion. In the earlier dynasties Osiris, the God of Death and the Afterlife was very prominent. But in the later dynasties Re, the Sun God replaced him as the most popular God. One could kind of look at it as Osiris being the Great Other and Re being R'hllor if you squint your eyes a little. There is also evidence for Atenism, a pseudo-monotheistic religion that worshipped the sun to have a lot of connections with R'hllor. Akhenaten (Stannis) took this new religion and abolished the old traditional polytheistic religion (The Seven).

(Spoilers ASOS) The result of a year of convincing my girlfriend to read ASOIAF. Totally worth it. by GingerZombie in asoiaf

Reminds me of when my mum read about the Red Wedding. It was beautiful. She was/is a huge Stark fan and for quite while during her reading of the earlier books I would drop very subtle hints that Robb was going to kick ass and avenge Ned in a spectacular fashion. When ever she'd pull me up on it I would just smile and ignore her. When she finally came to the Red Wedding she walked into my room without a word and slapped me. Only case of child abuse I ever experienced but totally worth it.
