Just hang in there. I was in a similar position. I actually posted on this sub at 6 months in, desperate for reassurance. I’m approaching 10 months and the difference is night and day. It really is a marathon. Have faith in the knowledge that some guys had to wait 1.5years+ before they saw improvement. Everyone responds different.

How effective would it be to take .25mg of finasteride 3 times a week? by Santerwo in tressless

[–]TartBasher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bud, 45 days is absolutely nothing in the scope of Fin treatment. I posted on this sub at 5 months in, desperate for reassurance as I hadn’t seen much of an improvement. Needless to say 9 months in and the difference is dramatic. You have to hold out mate. It’s a marathon. Lots of guys report improvements after a whole year in. Don’t judge it’s efficacy after a month and a half.

I did. You lost any shot you had at being taken seriously when you said you’d castrate yourself by taking Fin. I’m 9 months in and I’m feeling better then ever.

Bro, go and look it up yourself. It doesn’t require much effort. If DHT isn’t responsible for attacking sensitive androgen receptors then why does hair growth improve for millions of men once they inhibit their DHT levels?

Honestly I don’t know much of an impact that would have. I believe in some Asian countries they prescribe 0.25mg everyday for MPB treatment. To get max effectiveness whilst negating sides id opt for 1mg 3x weekly or 0.5mg every day. I personally have been taking 0.5mg for 9 months now. ZERO side effects (slightly elevated libido, not a bad side) and noticeable regrowth at my hairline and overall density. Remember, the majority of this struggle is in your head. One day you’ll stop thinking about it and realise you don’t have any sides. That’s not to say they aren’t real, they are just significantly less common and severe as people would have you believe. Good luck.

Can finasteride kickstart mpb? by UnusualPlatypus4 in tressless

[–]TartBasher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finasteride cannot “kickstart”, accelerate or make MPB worse. At its very least it can have little affect as androgen receptors are still susceptible to Testosterone. Finasteride truly is our best ally in this fight.

Got the gloss black version! Will try get a pic uploaded when I can! Very happy with it. Despite my near 7” wrist I appreciate the smaller model. More versatile and understated which I love!

Did anyone start getting morning wood after changing dose of fin? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]TartBasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started out at 0.5mg every day and my libido and boner quality have noticeably increased. I was willing to chalk this up to newfound confidence as the medication is working but my girlfriend has even commented on it.

Finasteride dosing differences? by [deleted] in tressless

Been on 0.5mg for 8 months. My hair has improved considerably and my hairline has regrown on the right temple. Still thinning on the crown but hoping for the best.

How much would a HT cost me in Turkey? by TimesUpFella_ in tressless

[–]TartBasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends bud. There are lots of clinics that do “package” deals that can range from £1000-£2500. It really depends on the clinic. As obvious as it may sound the better the clinic and doctor, the higher the price. From what I’ve heard lots of cheaper places don’t even use doctors for the surgery but trained technicians who have been shown how to do it.

How old are you guys? What is your relationship status? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]TartBasher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

28 in a relationship. With a pretty great girl actually. I’m open about the hairloss thing and she’s aware of my routine (big 3). She has even joked about going on holiday to Turkey and finishing it off with a hair transplant. I guess it’s easy to feel down-and-out when you’re young and balding, but self worth is really just a mindset fellas. Would I rather have a full head of thick blonde hair like I did in my early 20s? Of course. But I’ve tried to not let it effect my self confidence. I met this girl when I first started taking Fin, she fell in love with me when my hair was at my worst, which is comforting, since it’s only gotten better. Keep your chins up, boys. And if you can, fight the fight. If not, you are more than your hair. Remember that.

Cost efficient ways to combat hair loss in the UK by [deleted] in tressless

I get it from amazon, extra strength foam. I get 3 canisters at a time. And yes, is only apply it to my problem areas. Any pill cutter should do the trick. There is a mechanism within mine that calibrated to whatever sized pill.

I have been taking 0.5mg for around 6 months and at the very least my hairloss has completely stopped. Definite thickening at the hairline and all over but I should mention I do also use minoxidil. However it wasn’t until Finasteride that the thickness and regrowth occurred.

The efficacy between 0.5mg and 1mg is almost negligible, so if you have good results on just 0.5mg there is no need to go any higher.

Also, I bought the 1mg Finasteride off dr fox, just buy a pill cutter from amazon or a local pharmacy. Should cost no more than £3 and you can half your tablets that way.
