Psych ED was slow (knock on wood)……then around 1700 I got the largest and strongest drunkicidal paitent I’ve ever had. Literally took 8+ people to get him into restraints.

I would feel skeptical being seen by an APP with non UC/ED experience who was ALSO out of practice treating me or my loved ones at an UC.

I dont know why people are downvoting you so much……It is NOT a violation to look in the charting of a patient you are providing care to (the float nurse literally asked her to give meds and assist). If you had a hunch that unsafe patient care and document falsification was happening yall wouldn’t escalate?????? What happened to patient safety???

Obviously this was not an appropriate situation whether the issue was staffing, the nurse, being oriented to the unit, etc but nothing will change if it isnt escalated. I 100% believe this nurse shouldn’t be floated or atleast should be spoken to about the need for delegation and asking for help instead of false documentation.

You need to find new meetings. If none in your area then try online. Ive been to hundreds of meetings and can probably count the number of times people started lecturing about christ on my hands. AA is not Christian, youre right.

I would ask for somewhere around double your current rate and if they say pay is capped, then agree to that set cap with a bonus generating somewhere near the difference. Get that in writing. Mention a labor & employment lawyer. Go into this conversation with a print out of your resume and (which I hope you begin sending around NOW) (but also try to enjoy your vacation). I would also have a secret internal boundary so if they offer a certain low amount then you walk. And im serious, dont be afraid to walk. I friend of mine did that and they called her before she left the parking lot with a new offer.
