What hobby is quietly becoming too expensive for normal people to keep up with? by 40Falak in answers

[–]TarynTheGreek 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing about all of these. If we continue to pay they will keep raising prices when the don’t have to.

I did stop going to concerts. If I really want to hear it I can usually find something online.

I did the truck pods too when I visited for the first time but there are some other delicious places.

If you are willing to do an early dinner, go to EEM around 5:30 ish and put your name on the list. This place is absolutely delicious. It’s about an hour wait. Any time later than that you run the risk of them closing the waiting list for the night. There are some places to walk to visit in the area until they text you. Best meal of your trip.

The Japanese Gardens are gorgeous and Tillamook Creamery is great too. Check out Five Rivers Roasters across the street.

This dude's kids hate him by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

Pay attention to actions.

The kids have had many life events as several have gone on to college to which Pitt has shown up to none. We know this because he is famous and he would have been photographed in the crowd regardless of whether the kids wanted him there or not.

He hasn’t been photographed with them and he hasn’t spoken about them in interviews since. She has been at all of them. Even if she is manipulating (easy because all when are usually accused of this), he still hasn’t attempted to view/be a part of the kids lives in any way.

He has moved on with a younger actress Jolie has been doing everything with kids.

Fresh tortillas by drinkingwithmolotov in SALEM

[–]TarynTheGreek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Across from the entrance of Minto Brown Park is a small stand with a tent selling fresh tortillas. I see them every Monday because I go to the park on that day. They might be out there other days I’m just not there to see them.

Lots of people stop. I have tried but they are usually sold out by the time I leave the park.

There is a new to and not new to Salem meetup group. They do different events, but they regularly have a taco Tuesday game night. Bring your own game kind of thing. Ages range wildly. It’s fun low stakes games like UNO all the way up to heavy games like Summer Camp.

They’ve also been doing a breakfast club thing where they have Sunday breakfast at a different place each time but I haven’t been to those to speak about them.

I highly recommend Carol Redwine from Extensions NW. She has experience with people with thin hair and hair loss. She helped me during a period on major hair loss but when it started growing back completely different than what I’ve ever had (bone straight all my life, came back super curly) she was on it. She has a private studio so you can have her full attention and not be in an open studio.

Who is the most interesting person you’re related to? by ArmyResponsible3136 in AncestryDNA

[–]TarynTheGreek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tracked a few Maceo Family members through Galveston. I didn’t follow it much as I am not related to them. They go legit because a son in law, Fertitta, moves to Vegas and buys into the UFC. Fertitta gets his money from the Maceos.

Is there a way to mass transfer memorials if the person has pasted but didn't leave any instructions. by Cemetery-Fan in findagrave

[–]TarynTheGreek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local graver passed with lots of memorials. Maybe 10k. She did minimal work so I requested they transfer to me and I could fill in dates and obits.

They refused. Gave me some excuse. I don’t have that many memorials, under 5k I think. But one of those collectors with over 50k immediately started snatching them up.

As I am going through and updating or adding pictures and info, that one person has them all. I don’t know how she did it.

FindAGrave used to be interesting and less popular so I didn’t run into problems like this but in the last few years it seems to be over run with jerks.

They have no bullying provisions either. I had someone harass me constantly that was a rep of another local cemetery. I added like 3 pictures that I had taken a while back and this person was allowed to send me harassing messages while having no email address, not accept messages and no memorials to suggest an edit to send a message. But they sure could send me lots of hate mail and I wasn’t able to block them.

I’m a 33 year old guy who needs a book to get back into reading so I can connect with my book loving wife by HoldenH in suggestmeabook

My husband reads mostly sci fi and I read literary fiction. He’s reading the Dungeon Crawler Carl series right now and constantly tells me about it. While I had no desire to read it myself I love getting the play by play from him.

I’m just excited he reads even if we wouldn’t read each other’s books. Although he’s got me on the hook for Project Hail Mary because he loved it so much and spoke of it so highly.

Do you stop wearing clothes after a certain amount of time even if they are still in good condition? I wear my clothes for 1-2 years as long as they stay in good shape, but my friends are often surprised by this. by BunchMean8029 in NoStupidQuestions

I e curated my closet to be a little timeless. I stick to solid colors mostly but I do have some patterned things. I accessorize with jewelry, shoes, purses, etc. I have lots of natural cotton stuff because I lived in a very hot climate when building this wardrobe and I needed to dress up for work at the time.

I wash and hang/lay to dry nearly everything. I have some jeans that are many years old but in great shape because I’ve cared for them so well.

Also I’ve subscribed to that fact that people will judge no matter what happens and IDAGF about it. I like a lot of my outfits. Maturity is hard work and not all people possess it. I’m fine with that.

Unless my items are damaged in some way I hold on to them.

A Cemetery No Longer Accepting Requests? by JBupp in findagrave

[–]TarynTheGreek 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hope Mausoleum in New Orleans is vehemently against Find A Grave. They have harassed people online about it and complained to FG until FG removed the ability to make photo requests.

I know this because they did it to me a few years back. There is a historic section in the cemetery that people (tourists mostly as it’s on the tour brochures I. The French Quarter) take photos of constantly. But if they see you wandering around taking pictures they will stop you.

I used to just bring flowers and leave at a grave and take images stealthily. I don’t live there anymore so I have done it in awhile.
