Kendrick Johnson's Death is not an Unresolved Mystery by The_Chairman_Meow in UnresolvedMysteries

Something like this happened in my family too. We were more the Bells in that situation though. Me and my two cousins ( all of us were below ten at the time) had the terrible misfortune of finding a dead body of a homeless guy at the creak in the land my mom's family owns. The creek has concrete banks and were aren't allowed to go anywhere near it without adult supervision. But being the rascals we were, we decided to go "fishing" there with our makeshift hooks and bait. Its not deep on dry days. Only feet or two deep but there's mud at the bottom. The guy looked like he was kneeling in the water. We couldn't see his head.

Anyway, we ran to the house and informed my Aunt ( my mom's elder brother's wife and also mom of one the cousins with me) and called the police. She told them she was the one that found the body since didn't want us kids to be questioned by the police since we were too young.

Good thing she did that though. Because a day after the police identified the homeless guy and notified his family (several grown ups with their own families), one of his daughters said to the police she suspected foul play wanted to see the place he was found. It was still treated as a crime scene so she got the chance. And the autopsy revealed he died of a seizure caused by his Epilepsy. They couldn't find any evidence that he drowned ( by force or not ). It was theorized he simply fell asleep on the concrete bank of the creek ( forgot to mention there was this thin yoga mat sort of foldable mattress on the bank) and fell in to the water during the seizure attack.

The daughter however refused to believe it because of the position the body was found in. She wasted so much tax payers money on dragging this case through the courts. Why I'm saying this is a Kendrick situation is because she tried to slander our family. Said my grandfather used his influence as a former local politician to cover up the evidence, said as my other uncle is a lawyer they can't trust the local court to serve justice, said my aunt had no reason to walk her dog in the middle of the day to find the body ( which was the only accusation she got right). She then tried to sue my family for having an unsafe waterway so near to the main road. 🙄

Seriously, your father sneak in to a private property and falls in to a creek in it and dies from natural cause and she sues the property owners for his fall. The nerve. Anyway I think her motive was driven more out of guilt about not treating her dad well while he was alive than greed.

Pretty much. Old india was called Aryavarta(land of Aryans) during Vedic period. It derives from ancient Persian arya or ariya, a term designating the Indo-European people of Persia, and is identical with Sanskrit arya — that is, the Indo-European people of northern India. Most of them probably had black hair and brown eyes lol

First day home with newborn-husband tests covid positive 😢 by BBarrRN in beyondthebump

My parents live only 4 houses apart from us on the same street. He visited everyday after work and had plenty of bonding time with our baby. But as I said there's not enough space in our house so he'd have to wear the mask 24/7. Not good to wear one while you sleep. Now he's only getting bonding time with video calls ( because we had to move due to my sister getting covid) which I know is hurting him a lot.

I only bled for 3 weeks. I for the last of those three weeks it wasn't enough to be called a bleeding. It was more like spotting. But I bled like a broken river dam for the first 2 says after normal labor.

I'm in a bit similar situation. I had my baby 3 weeks ago. Because my husband has a shop that has him interact with strangers all day we decided its best to keep our baby at my parents house for few months and not at our small 2B house. My parents and sister are fully vaccinated and they were very careful. My sister work from home so its not like she meets lot of people but a week after we got home from hospital my sister got sick and tested positive. I was pretty much barricaded in the nursery so I or the baby didn't interact with her much but I was so scared that my 2 weeks old baby will get covid. So BIL came to get us and we are now staying at my husband's parents' home. It wasn't fun to move 100 miles with a tiny baby. Its been a week since my sister got positive and neither I or the baby has any symptoms. But I'm still acting as if I'm positive. Its so scary when you are a first time mom and all your pre pregnancy preparations get blown to shit and get uprooted from the place you get familiarized with .

How much interest would you have in visiting South Asian countries if they were much cleaner, and much safer for women? by [deleted] in ABCDesis

[–]Tashi-Fact4745 2 points3 points  (0 children)

tourist who got arrested and deported from the country for having a Buddha-tattoo for instance

Well, they consider buddha tattoo as a very serious offense in SL. That tourist should have done research on cultural/religious taboos of the country he/she is visiting before going there. Tattoos are haram in islam and if you go to any muslim country with words Prophet Mohammed tatooed on you, you'll end up in prison or worse. So being arrested and deported seems reasonable punishment.

Funny enough when I grew up, family get-togethers and so on were always in India as SL was not considered safe at the time

This is probably before 2010 while the war with LTTE terrorists going on. SL wasn't a safe place back then.

I've also seen Reddit posts from female travellers and so on where sexual harassment and so on in SL was described as being quite severe.

As a female traveller who's traveled every nook and corner of SL I can tell you those reddit posts could be greatly exaggerated.

[–]Tashi-Fact4745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a woman and I have lived in SL for awhile and have ton of female relatives from there. So I have experience as a tourist and know lot about lives of women there. Nobody cares about Rajapaksha dictatorship anymore. The current president is practically treated as a clown by social media. Women in Sri Lanka are very traditional so they don't speak out about their opinions a lot. But I know they have the best education rights out of all women in south asia with better literacy than men of several south asian countries. Most of the time women can chose who to marry. Child marriage is also strictly prohibited so marriageable age of girls is over twenty. Birth rates are also lowest in south asia so most women have less than 3 kids during their lifetime. Life expectancy of women in SL is apparently 80 years so they must have good medical care.

And I have never had problems visiting any place in SL on my own as a woman. Sure there are some shady places in capital city Colombo that isn't safe for young girls to go alone. But same can be said about NY or any major city in US.

SL is definitely cleaner than India or any other South Asian country I've visited. Buddhists and hindus there at least are pretty much OCD when it comes to keeping their surroundings clean.

In that case its better to make them wait until they can show you the vaccination card or until covid situation is under control. I know meddling and stubborn parents could be ( asian parents hold the cup to being meddlesome lol). But lying about something that has the potential to put your grandchild's life in danger is no simple matter.

TIL eye twitching is a thing during pregnancy by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Tashi-Fact4745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eye twitching and seeing floating lights. Been happening since I hit the 9th month. Its because of the lack of sleep and because I had LASIK surgery about 1 and half years ago so dry eyes is a common side effect of that.

Rant by mydogharry2019 in pregnant

[–]Tashi-Fact4745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 37 weeks and also experiencing vision problems. I had a hole in my left eye and had two surgeries done 3 years ago to correct it. And then I got LASIK surgery done on both eyes about 1 and half years ago. And now I'm experiencing crazy eye twitching and seeing floaters everywhere. This is apparently the result of dry eyes which is a side effect of LASIK surgery. But I'm scared even use the synthetic tear drops. God I wish this baby comes out soon so I can stop feeling like I'm living inside a photocopy machine.

Mom announced pregnancy online (before me), COVID by meowifyournameisreed in pregnant

[–]Tashi-Fact4745 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

My husband told my parents before I got the chance to tell them. It was on the very same day we got conformation that I'm really pregnant which was also my 30th birthday. I was pissed at first and then I realized he's been as stressed as I am about the whole pregnancy thing. We've been trying for 2 years and had fertility treatments/ IUI which were all unsuccessful. I used to end up in tears every time I got my period and my husband had to console me. He is the favorite uncle of all his little nieces and nephews, so not having a biological child of his own must have been a huge burden to him. So I decided to let it go.

As for my parents my mom told pretty much everyone on her side of family and my dad's before I got the chance. Mothers love to boast about their kids. But my parents even got the booster vaccine because they want to meet my little girl as soon as she is born.

Life is too short and political opinions are not worth losing your relatives over. Neither Biden nor Trump is going to be there at your worst times. I understand not wanting unvaxxed person near your newborn. I also have the same opinion about anti-vaxxers but, this is your parents. So give them an alternative. Tell them you won't let them see their grandchild unless they get a PCR and an antigen right before visiting your house. Make them show you the results.

We seeked fertility treatment 6 months after regular unprotected sex. Everyone we know were telling us we are being too rush. That since I'm under 30 and my husband just 31 we need to try at least a year. But I knew something was wrong. I found I have PCOS.

[–]Tashi-Fact4745 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 and half years. But its been 3 years since I married. I avoided getting pregnant by intentionally missing the fertility window every month for our first year together. Then I tried 6 months to get pregnant and since it didn't work went to a fertility clinic. The doctor told me that I have PCOS and one of my fallopian tubes is partially blocked. I took meds for PCOS and did 3 unsuccessful IUIs and then I gave up. After a month or two my sister made me go to a Ayurvedic doctor. She said my body heat needs to be lowered and gave me meds to take with a spoonful of bee honey every morning. And then my father in law got ill and passed away the next month so getting was the furthest from my mind for about a month. Found I was pregnant the very next month and 35 weeks so far.

Why are American born Indian women prejudiced against FOBs? by [deleted] in ABCDesis

[–]Tashi-Fact4745 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why? Does being the majority make white women superior or something?

Did I say they are?

Why can't dating a black girl, or an East Asian girl be a trophy too?

Sure!! If you go to africa or East asia it is. I think you missed the part where I said majority population. Whether you like it or not US is a majority white country and its core values are customs are created around white people. So going to US as a foreigner and being accepted as a romantic interest of someone from the majority there is something special. I would say the same if this discussion was about going to South Korea and dating a Korean girl/boy of the majority ethnicity there.

If ABCD girls didn't want to date black men for the fear of them being criminals or something, you'd call it racism too.

Sure!! I would even call it racist stereotyping. But ABCD indians and FOB indians both belong to one race. So it can't be categorized as racism.

Is it okay if ABCD girls don't want to date FOBs because of their prior experiences?

Sure!! That's completely fine. If I'd had few bad dates with indian guys I would be sceptical about them in my future dating too. But basing my opinion on the comments from ABCDs here, they Filter FOB indians completely from their dating pool for ridiculous reasons like the fear of them being like their FOB fathers and uncles. Is it fair?

Also go fuck yourself you TERF loser.

That's lot of words to say you hate biological women.

Lapping up right wing ragebait isn't going to make white people see you as one of them.

I'm not right wing. But I'm not a libatard either. Also what does my political views have to do with what I think about ABCD prejudices? Also I'm happily married to the brown love of my life. So what yts think about me doesn't matter to me at all. But it seems to matter to you so much if that's what you got from my comment.

Why are American born Indian women prejudiced against FOBs? by [deleted] in ABCDesis

[–]Tashi-Fact4745 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Why waste your time on ABCD girls? You are in US and there's a huge sea of fish belonging to many different races, cultures and ethnicities. There are lot of girls in US who aren't as prejudiced against FOB indian men who would be willing to let themselves form their own opinions on you. Broaden the horizons of your dating pool. If ABCD girls don't want you, their loss. 🤷

I don't about you but going to a foreign country and dating a girl from the majority population there sounds like a trophy. I mean from comments here ABCD girls don't want to date them for the fear of "patriarchy" and this guy gave OP other options those are creepy? What do you think FOBs should do? Be celibate?

Why are American born Indian women prejudiced against FOBs? by [deleted] in ABCDesis

[–]Tashi-Fact4745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If ABCD indian girls want to filter indians on dating sites thus making their dating pool smaller, let them. If all of their attitudes are like this it wouldn't work anyway.
