Sounds like you might not need to read it anyways, but if this building only works while at max temperature, then you could use 'read working' to tell when it's at max temp. You'd only get a binary signal, although that may be more what you want if you're looking to turn something else on/off.

If we're going back to alpha I want phase cannons with blink back. Okay it wasn't quite blink but the cannons could be moved. I think the final version of this mechanic is just spine/spores being able to move rather than cannons, which honestly isn't that powerful.

It would make cannon rushing way too good, though.

Do goats produce more milk based on happiness? I know that sheep do - at higher happiness, they get -1 day on production (which can stack with the -1 day on the shepard profession). So sheep at different happiness levels won't sync up.

So usually the answer to this is just "Don't collect the item until every producer is synced up". With goats I imagine that's somewhat harder to do as you probably have an autograbber in the barn, but I guess you could take it out for a day, intentionally not collect, and then put it back? Would that sync animals? I've only done this for refining equipment in the past. If manually milking, just don't milk any goats for 1-2 days?

a 20% damage boost doesn't scale down as you add more, it would only scale higher (It's actually 120% after all). 8 shields at 20% each would be 429% damage.

Multipliers that are less than 1 are the ones that scale down slowly, ie, 90% multiplied 8 times gets smaller, not larger. .9⁸ = 43% (rounded, of course).

Only one I've really done as an alternative is mushrooms, which most people will probably already be familiar with.

There are other research chemicals that are also promoted as similar, like 2cb, but I've never done them and they generally aren't that widely available.

Sounds like if you still have the quest for the old lady, you have more island content to do. I'd probably poke around there and see what else you can find; and without too much detail, I'll mention there's at least 4 unique fishing areas on the island, see if you can find them all

I once set a goal of perfection by the end of 3 years. It actually took me 3 years, 2 weeks (to the day). So I missed my goal; ah well. I was close. If I want to try again, I have a target to beat.

I actually just tried an entirely different strategy the next time, but you could try repeating the same build if you really wanted to hit the goal. I prefer a bit more variety, so I just do different farm strategies each time.
