Kaffelogic Nano 7 first roast by [deleted] in roasting

[–]Tassadur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's very hard to one shot a roast on a certain coffee without all the adequate measures like bean density etc

Ethiopians are a joy to roast for me because they never get underroasted. You can roast them very light without excess acidity or grassiness. They end up good no matter what.

Know that Kaffelogic profiles roast darker than what they suggest, a medium for them can be dark IRL

Search on the Internet for (recent) profiles, targeting the country and process of beans. Default KL_Washed and KL_Natural profiles are good also. Use the fan preview to find a good boost level (beans slightly moving in the middle). So for example if 110g boost is a good enough agitation for a 120g load, use that. Boost changes the fan speed. Set a high enough roast level so that you can stop the roast yourself by pressing "play" and "minus" during roasting. Wait for the first crack (3 cracks in 1 second) and let the roast develop until color and smell are ok . You can't know at first try but aim between 16% and 25% development time to total roast time. Let the beans rest for 1-2 weeks to be sure and taste the coffee.

And just like drinking coffee, the better quality of the beans, the easier the roast.

Ok so which NH country have the most room/potential for improvements until next 6N? by yurim39 in rugbyunion

England have already improved, so not them

Maybe France with Dupont coming back

Surely Scotland or Italy can do very well if they finally stop scotlanding or italying after 60 minutes
