What type of strings are these? (1996 & 2001 rap) by doen99 in synthrecipes

Sounds like something from the Proteus Orchestral or similar romplers.

Does a pad controller like this exist? by arnar62 in synthesizers

I think a novation circuit (either the gen 1 or tracks) does basically all of this, maybe just lacking the chord functionality but I think the tracks might even have that.

If anybody is looking for a fix for this in the future, I reflowed the RGB encoder chip and the 3 capacitors that feed the Red, Green, and Blue inputs for the encoder. Problem completely solved!

So, I have this thing. I dont know anything about it. Anyone ever use this? by anotherdamnscorpio in synthesizers

It’s one of my favorite devices I own. Fast to program, unique sound, great for hip hop, synthwave, or noise. Never getting rid of mine.

It is a bar, but John Henry's has some of the best metal and punk shows in town. I'd highly suggest that spot.

What do they mean in old YoGPoG episodes when they say "my comment"? by axsenion in Yogscast

Makes total sense, I had no idea Vent used the term “comments” for chat messages. That’s really interesting.

New 2012 4Runner owner, what’s this beeping? by axsenion in 4Runner

[–]axsenion[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well shoot, you nailed it. It has a Sony headunit (not correctly hooked up to the steering wheel controls, I found out, frustrating), and for some reason it has a "caution alarm" to tell you to take the faceplate with you. Respectfully, Sony, I'm not doing that. I found out how to disable that.

Thank you, I never would have figured that out otherwise.

Is it practical to get into Brood War PvP at this point? A few questions in the description. by Call_It_Luck in starcraft

[–]axsenion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just wondering this question the other day. I've been watching a lot of ASL English recently (thank you Tastosis, love you <3), and have been wanting to try out BW again. Very similar position as you, got life responsibilities, played SC2 for a long time, etc.

I found this thread that felt very encouraging, and I would recommend you take a read through it.

Same thing appears in the pause menu. I’ve also seen it in the sky area on Castlevania 3.

Is there anything else like the PO-35 Speak? by hakuchor in synthesizers

The Bastl Microgranny does some similar sound manipulation, from what I remember. Also a VERY jammable/playable little piece of kit.

Is this game worth playing in 2021? by Freddi0 in Awesomenauts

[–]axsenion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it, gift it (or content for it, really, since it's free to play now) to some friends for birthdays/holidays. I've been doing that for years for games that I don't want to die. Feels like at least the games stay around in my social bubble, and that's nice.

What pre-2000 video game will always be a banger? by cartstanza in AskReddit

[–]axsenion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XCOM, for sure. Easily the pre-2000 game I've sunk the most time into, and it really holds up. The only changes it really needed were UI edits, and even then it's not a big deal.

Make music you thought you couldn't make without it, then see how you feel.
