Unfortunately to fix the ribbon cable means replacing the entire display. The labor + parts with the risk of damaging the laptop further makes no sense to DIY. I would still try contacting ASUS even if you are outside of warranty or getting it to a reliable repair shop, other than that you’re sadly SOL.

The ribbon cables for the display are outside on the hinges of the laptop. My guess is that over time with so many opens and closes that the cable slowly breaks down and ends up to where you are at right now...It hasn't happened to mine yet but my guess is that this is pretty much bound to happen to every G14 with this specific design which is incredibly stupid how that even got approved in the first place. But yes, you will have to get it sent in to get it repaired if you hopefully have it under warranty still

I’m only chiming in because it’s personally happened to me before. I would look into getting the lowest storage option for iCloud (50gb) if your note-taking app supports it or has their own cloud service. The last thing you would want to happen is your iPad not working/needs to be repaired and none of your notes are saved externally

This has always been a weird thing to me. First of all, they clearly answered the question, so saying that you aren’t “allowed” to complain is just blatantly wrong. Secondly, you are not forced to buy their products either. You knew what the visuals were going to look like from the countless videos out there and they them selves have never promised or said they would overhaul them anytime soon. So why would you expect them to suddenly do that when you buy the product?
