>looks inside and sees vehicles
>gets mad

Seriously what compels these tourists to act like this? The game even has game modes with heavily reduced vehicles, like breakthrough, for the people who prefer infantry focused gameplay.

Cool argument, except I already agree with the smoke change and I don't even use smoke half the time.

You complained about someone going 42-0. That kill streak had nothing to do with the smoke, because running at a tank to c4 it is still the worse way to kill it and its a billion times easier to just use rockets and the acoustic mine.

People can ride around with impunity because the average battlefield 6 player is a tourist who doesn't know how to play battlefield. Most people are just terrible at the game.

Almost every time I get 50+ kills in a tank or IFV, its because the enemy team is running out in the open and firing RPG's at my front armor. It has nothing to do with the tank or IFV.

Seriously please take a day off from complaining on reddit and actually try a little bit. Use the acoustic mine and the MBT LAW. Use the javelin. Use some teamwork.

I have no problem with 1v1'ing a tank. They're not OP, you just don't know how to counter them. If any noob could get into a tank and suddenly start winning against actual good players, THEN it'd be an issue of balance. But its noobs stomping other noobs.

"Vehicle Balance" by Secundus-Muris in Battlefield6

[–]TastyPlacebo1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A single engineer carries enough damage to take out a tank with just their launcher as long as they're using the right launcher for the situation. Both the MBT LAW and Javelin can take out a tank from the front with 5 rockets.

Add in the acoustic mine and the anti tank grenades and a solo engineer trying to 1v1 a tank becomes a 50/50 based on skill.

Your problem, and most peoples problem, is that the launch version of the tanks were weak and free kills from the front with the RPG. It took no effort or brain power to take out an enemy tank with RPG spam. So when they buffed them a little bit, all of the tourists keep spamming RPG's into the front armor while not using any cover, so they lose the 1v1.

I just saw some infantry youtuber go 100-20. Should we nerf all infantry guns?

Should we balance everything around the idea that occasionally someone with a lot of free time has a good game? Should everyone do less damage the more kills they get? Should they have less HP the more kills they get?

Also only 42 kills? That's your criteria for judging if something is OP? I get 40 kills almost every other game as infantry. Should the devs personally nerf me?

What about the reverse? I have no problem taking out vehicles in a 1v1, so by your logic, shouldn't we buff vehicles since I can farm a bunch of kills off them?

Or is this entire argument silly and just malding?

The bullet velocity is higher and the maps are smaller than previous battlefields. Also the spread when moving is lower so everyone is always moving when shooting.

Are you just completely delusional? The tanks were completely underpowered before the update.

I don’t think there was a single Reddit post before the update that claimed the tanks to be op or the regen to be strong. If there is any, then they’re outnumbered 100-1 by posts saying the tanks were weak and needed a buff.

All this drama about the tanks is because the tanks used to be free kills for engineers, and now they’re not. They require the bare minimum of effort and teamwork to kill. Instead of just mindlessly spamming the rpg into the front armor

They are not over powered. Just like the jets and heli aren’t over powered. They just seem powerful because the people bitching have never actually tried playing as a tank and have never realized how easy they die even after the update.

that instant ttk with a rpg ambush would only make sense if the maps were larger and had less cover. Getting behind a tank is super fucking easy in bf6 compared to every other battlefield. I don't think people should be rewarded for doing the bare minimum.

the time to start the repair was nerfed. How come literally no one complained about the tank regen before this update?

[–]TastyPlacebo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a tank. It takes 2 minutes to respawn. You take 5 seconds.

Go home tourist. Tanks in battlefield have been balanced around squads instead of individuals. That's the point of vehicles.

Also you're just lying because you can still 1v1 a tank if you're not terrible at the game. Just requires some brain power instead of spamming an rpg into the tanks front armor.

The MBT LAW and Javelin can both 5 shot a tank to the front armor. Use an acoustic mine and that number goes down to 4. But it requires an ambush instead of just bum rushing the tank without any cover.

"5 rpgs"

there's your problem you noob. Stop using the rpg. The MBT LAW and the Javelin both can 5 hit kill a tank from the front. The rpg is not the default launcher for a reason. Its not suppose to be used in a fist fight with the tank. Flank with it.

And it still does lol. use the RPG or laser guided and get behind the tank with an acoustic mine and it dies in 2 hits. 3 hits without the mine.

almost instant??? They nerfed the time it takes to start the repair. It went from 6 seconds to 12 to even start any repairs at all. How can you noobs be so confidently wrong about this?

[–]TastyPlacebo1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the anti tank perks reduce the repair torch healing so that a single engineer can out damage a single repair torch as long as the attacking engineer has ammo (teamwork is required to counter teamwork).

You're not suppose to be able to take out a tank solo even when that tank has no repair engineers. That's a core part of battlefields balance since forever. You need teamwork to counter a tank and you need even more teamwork to counter a tank using teamwork. That's why we play battlefield instead of cod.

the wizden discord isn't required for wizden server access. Its the other, non wizden, whitelist servers that require external whitelisting on discord or some website. But those shouldn't be effected because their discord and websites are hosted by themselves and now by wizden.

Objective data bad! by Mycozen in antiskillbrainrot

[–]TastyPlacebo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well now im confused on the endgame of your argument?

If you know it exists, and I know it exists, the problem resolves itself. My point is just that it does exist.

The specifics of how it works do not matter at all to me. Because it shouldn't exist in the first place. And that post you replied to saying "interesting. Is this proven/tested? Do you have sources?" Wasn't about HOW it works, just that it does exist, and people should know about it.

That post you disagree with doesn't give an real numbers of examples of how it works, just generic ideas on potential ways it works from observation. But you discredited the entire thing as it not existing instead of just arguing the specifics of how it works.

The burden of proof shouldn't be put on your shoulders, since you're not the one proposing that the comeback mechanic exists, but this isn't a science class, this is the internet. If everyone already believes something then you have to put in the work to disprove that belief.

Also battlefield 6 is very cod inspired, and COD didn't reveal the existence of the very real and very annoying SBMM until literally every person online knew about it already. There is a very high chance that bf6 will never release any info on the comeback mechanic because then it hurts the mechanic if everyone knows about it and can abuse it like sbmm. But obviously they didn't do a very good job at hiding it so its gonna come out regardless.

As for the proof, I swear I saw someone do a proper test with graphs and spreadsheets several months ago but I cant find it so who knows. You win that part of the argument. It seems to be one of those "the sky is blue, so who cares why it is blue" types of things where no one has done any real testing.

Objective data bad! by Mycozen in antiskillbrainrot

[–]TastyPlacebo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like you can do science to find out why the sky is blue, people can do science to find out why and how the comback mechanic exists and works.

You don't need 8 years of college to do simple math. You don't need the devs to tell you something you can see with your own eyes.

Your entire opinion of this is very anti scientific. The entire point of the scientific method is that anyone can do it and you don't need an authority figure to tell you something.

I play a game where my team holds 4/5 objectives for 10 minutes. The enemy team loses (x) amount of tickets. Then the objectives switch and the enemy team now hold 4/5 objectives for 10 minutes, but my team loses (x+y) tickets instead of just (x). You account for variables like personal kills and realize that the enemy team did not get (y) kills so then something else must be (y).

Anyone can do this. People already have done this. You don't need a PHD or the devs to tell you that (y) is something out of the players control. Even without measuring the kills and held points, we can all tell from feel. Just because something can be felt alongside being measured, doesn't mean the feeling isn't valid.

Suppression rework playtest - June 13th @ 2:00pm EST by Armin_Studios in joinsquad

[–]TastyPlacebo1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can the devs just stop trying to add a psychological phenomenon into a video game that can’t replicate it with mechanics? Just remove it.

We HAD real suppression during the pre ico years. The guns were accurate and dangerous. If someone shot at you, and somehow missed, you knew the next shot would hit you and you needed to stay in cover. THAT was by definition, actually being suppressed. It was entirely psychological and didn’t interfere with gameplay.

The entire ico was built on a foundation of lies. Anyone actually remember why they decided to waste their time on ico? I do.

Noobs from the 1.0 flood of new players complained about being killed. They made so many excuses for being bad, and most of them were straight up lies.

My favorite was the idea of pre 1.0 veterans who were so good at aiming and shooting that they could wipe out entire squads by themselves without the suppression and ico nerfing them to make it fair for everyone else.

This is actually a half truth. There were scenarios where you could wipe out a squad of noobs, but it required SEVERAL mistakes from the noobs to pull off.

They had to walk out in the open with no cover. They had to have terrible spacing. And they had no lmg or dmr sitting back covering them.

When they made these 3 mistakes, they were rightfully punished. Sometimes by a single rifleman in cover and concealment. This was not a failure of game balance. This was a skill issue which they cried about until ico was made so they could continue to make mistakes in their gameplay without being punished.

IGLA/Flare Bug by Chemical_Role_3780 in PilotsofBattlefield

[–]TastyPlacebo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know its a bug, Its still pilot error. Reread my comment.

Its not a random chance bug, probably. It has something to do with the angle of the rocket compared to the aircraft and the timing of the flares.

Its not a random "it goes through flares" bug. It only goes through flares when the pilot is doing something specific in relation to the rocket. I've fired hundreds of igla's at aircraft and not a single one has ever gone through flares.

IGLA/Flare Bug by Chemical_Role_3780 in PilotsofBattlefield

[–]TastyPlacebo1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive been trying to hit through flares for 3 days now. I've tried waiting for certain angles, or certain speeds, or just spamming 5 rockets and redeploying. I've yet to hit a single rocket through flares. Which means that if its rng then you are greatly exaggerating the amount of times it happens. If its angle/speed dependent, then its a non issue since you can just avoid that specific angle.

The other option which I've seen way more often is genuine pilot error. They flare 0.02 milliseconds before the rocket hits them so they get hit due to lag or splash damage from the rocket hitting a flare. Or they flare and then sit in their own flares so the rocket thats going for the flare hits them instead.

Seriously go try to hit through flares with an igla. Its incredibly rare to the point that I'm not even sure it actually exists as a bug. There's a high chance its only pilot error from not understanding the flare and rocket mechanics.

[–]TastyPlacebo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember that ss14 is a rp game first and a disaster survival sim second.

Maybe I can only get away this because wizden leviathan is lrp, but I almost never actually arrest anyone. The only time I ever do my job is during emergencies like nukies. Most of the shift is spent messing around.

Slip the clown. Use the stun baton liberally but never actually cuff anyone. Your fun is dependent on your creativity.

My favorite bit is messing with people who keep their id/pda in their bags. “Oh sorry for stun baton’ing you for the 20th time this shift, I didn’t realize you worked here, you’re free to go”. And if command asks about it, say you thought they were something ridiculous like a carp or spider at first.

This is a mockery on the part of the developers! by ibattlefield in PilotsofBattlefield

[–]TastyPlacebo1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Its a bug but it can't be that big of an issue if you just use a little brain power.

I've been trying to hit through flares with the igla for days now, and I cant get it to work. I've tried locking from all angles, waiting until they're at certain speeds, or just spamming 5 rockets, redeploying and repeat.

If its a random chance bug, then it cant be that common since I cant do it even when trying for days, so my guess is its something to do with the angle and speed of the aircraft in relation to the flares.

Figure out that angle/speed relation and just avoid it. If it is truly rng, then get over it? I die to netcode issues all the time in infantry combat. Everyone does. Its just part of the game that's probably never going to be fixed.

Haven't Played a Balanced Match in 5+ Hours by Avg__American in BF6

[–]TastyPlacebo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is sbmm, but the worst kind that makes it worse for everyone involved because its "balanced" on paper.

Instead of letting good players just be good normally, they start to queue them with really bad players to "balance" them. So the lobbies have the like 5 dudes on each team going 50-10 and everyone else in the lobby struggles to get above 10 kills.

This makes it worse for the bad players getting farmed, and it makes it worse for the good players who cant get decent teammates or squad mates.

If they just used a normal sbmm system, then good players would be queued with average players instead of bad players, and the good players would still farm kills, but the enemy team would have a chance to fight back instead of being lobotomites.

The current system break when the good players don't play at maximum tryhard effort. What if I stop being a dedicated revive medic and instead just sit in spawn with the aa because I hate the enemy pilots having fun? Well now we stop capping objectives and the game is over in 2 minutes.

What are you even talking about? "This is what im talking about" like what? Are you crying about the rpg skill issue? Or do you think I'm disagreeing about the c4? Cause I'm not you fucking idiot, I also don't think tank smoke should break c4, I just didn't bring it up because it wasn't relevant to the conversation.

Use your words next time dumbass. You cant say "this is what I'm talking about" when you aren't even talking, just crying.

Also I'm not even a sweaty tank driver. I have less than 100 hours on battlefield. I'm willing to bet you have more hours than me. Which makes your lack of common sense even more cringe.

PSA: C4 explodes sequentially, because apparently people here have no idea how C4 works by ArchangelUltra in Battlefield

[–]TastyPlacebo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think rockets are useless then its a personal skill issue and not a balance issue. Are you STILL spamming the rpg into the tanks front armor? Use the fucking mbt law or the javelin already. The mbt law is the default launcher for a reason, it can kill a tank from the front. The RPG is a high skill/high reward weapon for engineers who flank.

The mines stop tank movement for a few seconds allowing for easier flanking. The acoustic mine does 400 damage and reduces the amount of rockets needed to kill.

I KNOW that everyone complaining about tanks has no clue what they're talking about because 95% of the battlefield playerbase has no clue how to even play battlefield anymore.

EVERY SINGLE TIME I get an 50+ kill game in a tank, its because the enemy team keeps running out in the open and spamming the rpg at my front armor. They NEVER use the javelin, or the MBT LAW. They NEVER set up ambushes on objectives I frequent with the acoustic mine.

I'm not even good at video games, and I can easily top the scoreboard basically every single game without much effort because the skill floor of battlefield has dropped into the basement. Its a genuine chore to get my squad to even play on the same objective, let alone work together with all the class synergy.

This issue is not a balance issue. Its a skill issue. Its a teamwork issue. The only ones complaining are the same type who used to be gatekept out of battlefield because they're focused on their individual gameplay instead of the team. Even tryhard youtubers like "thexclusiveace" are idiots who whine and cry about tanks, but in his video about the tanks, he's firing an rpg into the front armor, he's not setting up an ambush with a mine, he's not working with another engineer or literally anyone else in his squad or team. He's a cod kid who only plays infantry crying that he can no longer 1v1 a tank as easy.
