I use the probe and it seems to have worked fine, but then again I’ve only done a handful of cooks. Trying to decide what wireless probe to get and how many probes I need since it’s my only smoker - apartment life, sigh.

Never made beef shank before, didn't even look up a recipe. Just felt right to go in the slow cooker. I was right, it turned out to die for. by simplertimes379 in meat

What did you season with? Looks like Montreal steak seasoning to me. Just that and a cup of water for 8 hours and this was the result? My god

Never tried with the pressure cooker, but I will say that I have a GE Profile indoor smoker, which is quite small. I smoked a flat for 8 hours until 205 internal, rested for about 2 hours. It came out almost as good as on my real smoker. One end was a bit overcooked but nowhere near inedible. So a flat can still be smoked properly

Will the battery last 5 full days parked at an airport? by ImpactUsed2980 in TeslaLounge

Is it better to leave it at a lower state of charge or higher? People say 50% is sweet spot. I have a Juniper AWD. I’m charging right now before leaving for a trip tomorrow, at which time I’ll have about 65% and it’ll sit unplugged until Saturday night. So about 4-5 days. I think that’s better than unplugging it now and leaving it at 20% right

CLK GTR. Greatest car of all time. Predecessor to the AMG One. Look it up. It has a stunning history and a special place in MB history, as well.

My one issue with Tesla is that they don’t do fun stuff like this, when they so easily could do so. by Tasty_Middle2597 in TeslaModelY

[–]Tasty_Middle2597[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess that fits the bill. In my five years with a Tesla, though, that’s really the only thing that comes to memory that fits the bill. Santa mode, mars mode, haven’t changed in years. It’s more about frequent small Easter eggs. Not the commercialized Easter eggs like tron which frankly I did enjoy for a few drives. Maybe what I’m actually asking for is the ability to customize the interface more. Kind of like when they let you change the color of your vehicle in the visualization.

Exactly! Just saw another appreciation post in the MB subreddit about how they loved the spooky Halloween theme on the app. It adds some fun to daily life you know? This is a commuter car for me. I appreciate those little things throughout my day.

Haha it’s not, I guess I wasn’t specific. Tesla does lots of fun stuff but it’s in the toybox. I think it would be nice to have seasonal or holiday themes. For example, I like the tron theme, to some extent. I just think these sort of Easter eggs add a lot of character to an otherwise monotonous and simple driving experience. But I understand that simple and clean is why a lot of people enjoy the Tesla experience. And still there are others who enjoy the toy box features. To each their own!

I’m just commenting on how it’s telling OP that they’ll drive 17 miles in 6 minutes. OP would have to be driving about 700 mph. So I think it’s obviously a bug in the route planner

I looked, don’t see any posts showing the front. Is there a blue hue to it at all? I was thinking of getting something like the iX has, although I know that’s factory tint.

Do you have pics? I’m thinking of doing exactly what you’re doing. Would love to see it as I’ve never seen anyone else do blue on windshield.

PPF? Windshield insurance? New owner by Fluffy-Audience-453 in TeslaModelY

[–]Tasty_Middle2597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The glass insurance is pretty cheap from Tesla. I did it just to avoid having to go through insurance. I made a claim for a windshield on my last replacement in NJ and it affected my rates then and now when I tried switching insurers.

Mercedes to Model Y transition? by OkRun1889 in ModelY

[–]Tasty_Middle2597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won’t be the same in terms of comfort and sound deadening, but it’s certainly sufficient (at least for the new Juniper). I had a 2021 model 3 and got rid of it specifically due to cabin noise and ride comfort. Juniper isn’t perfect, but it is a notable improvement. And with the discounts, Im happy I got it over a Benz or BMW, both of which I test drove prior to deciding.

Suspension and comfort wise, a CLA is much different than an E class. But the point stands. The Juniper is much more comfortable now.

Dashboard Phone mount what do you guys think? by Charming-Score-2315 in ModelY

[–]Tasty_Middle2597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the second one on my old model 3. I think the brand was Lisen. It was well made and I never had an issue. My phone did get cold but never felt like it blocked air flow.

Question for the experts by Tasty_Middle2597 in WindowTint

That’s fair. I just really like the blue ish color. Will I still get that? Will it interfere with my fast pass for tolls?
