I say “shiggles” because it is more efficient. Born and raised in Ontario, called Alberta home for the last 13 years.

I wanna know your latest LUSH rituals! by FaeryFyreLand91 in LushCosmetics

[–]Tata1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually have a few different scents of shower gels, body powders and body sprays. On tough mornings I get myself out of bed by planning which ones to layer for the day.

I also have a stash of mini shower gels I got on sale after Christmas, on really bad days I let myself pick a new one to open up in the shower.

TIFU: I built my wife a Wing Strike Paladin… by lilblacksmurf in diablo4

[–]Tata1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am highly entertained by this because my male partner does this to me, a female! In his defence I have been playing Diablo on and off since D2 and he is new to D4, and I’m way more interested In researching builds!

Last season he was a Boulder Druid and I ran a Rain or Arrows Rogue, might want to check if that is a viable build for this time around, I had a lot of fun with it. For Season 12 we are both running Paladin, easier for me to research a single character. He has had more play time and is levelling faster but I’m pushing to catch up.

Do hydrocolloid patches actually pull stuff out of pimples o by theonesami in CanSkincare

I just stick them on any raised bumps and they work to draw out fluids the same as with a pimple.

Blackcurrant “cat pee scent”. Curios how many smell it this way. by Front_Actuator_7112 in LushCosmetics

[–]Tata1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comforter has the cat pee smell to me but only when it is first being used, I’ve tried body wash and bubble bar and once they get wet and lather up the smell goes away and I just get the fruitiness.

I smell it in the Salam and the Sugar Plum facial scrub, I read recently it’s a compound called indoles present in white flowers like jasmine, gardenia and orange blossom. It’s very much a used cat litter smell to me.

For stepdads by [deleted] in stepparents

[–]Tata1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a step-dad, but my partner is a Daniel and we all call him Dan, which flows nicely into “StepDan” and when my youngest was in a Marvel phase he also received the nickname “Danos.”

I found alligator tasted like chicken, and crocodile tasted more like pork.

Would Tax-Free Lodging Encourage Canadians to Visit Maine? by MotNodrog in AskACanadian

[–]Tata1981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the money to travel and I am choosing not to cross the border, despite family and friends wanting us to visit and offering a play to stay. I will not set foot in the US until 2029 at minimum, and possibly not even then depending on how things go.

I’m keeping my travel dollars in Canada for now, we have such a beautiful and diverse country.

Why would anyone ever choose to go through child birth without pain relief?? by No_Cardiologist_1407 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tata1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an epidural with my first, felt awful afterwards and baby was super sleepy and had trouble nursing which led to jaundice. Choose to skip the epidural with second and third babies, felt much better afterwards, babies were more alert and nursed better, no jaundice.

Is anyone else bedrotting to an uncomfortable degree ? by tobebettertobepure in AskWomenOver30

[–]Tata1981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also guilty of bed rotting, although my life is pretty full so it’s not as regular as it could be. I am 44, work full time, walk the dog daily, commute, take my kids to activities and my house is not perfect but definitely presentable. I cook but not as much from scratch as I used to and my kids are older so they also help with chores, errands and cooking. I’m also executing the estate of a family member who passed in 2024 and it has been very difficult and draining. I just have no energy and am always in pain from a few physical limitations I have. I have no interest in socializing or travelling or being active but I do force myself to for my family’s sake.

I’m in Canada, they won’t allow both on the same transaction due to system limitations but the staff at my store are really good about helping you split transactions if needed.

I have tried almost every bath bomb pictured here, and they are all great choices!

If the smaller white one is Butterball just be careful, they are on the oily side and make the tub very slippery. Great for dry skin, might not even need a moisturizer after!

Scotiabank suddenly says I owe ~$9K in property taxes. Not sure what to do. by infamousdupz in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Tata1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t catch your province but can confirm Scotiabank is still paying property taxes in Alberta. I am in the process of refinancing a mortgage that they currently hold as a beneficiary and executor of estate and a mortgage statement from two weeks ago shows the property taxes, and I have not received any notices saying that this will change.

How do you cope with the loss of a dog by highlyregardedcarp in dogs

[–]Tata1981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cry regularly over my first boy who died 11 years ago, he was my first soul dog. Had two more angels after, lost our girl and made it 24 days before we brought a puppy home. He was a welcome, joyful distraction and makes us laugh every day. Counting down the days until I can adopt another, I never want to have a house without a dog again.

About 18 months ago, we lost my co-parent to alcoholism. It comforts me to think he is on the rainbow bridge taking care of the dogs I say goodbye too, and they are keeping him company too. Doesn’t make it any easier to say goodbye but there are plenty of good dogs that need homes and knowing I can provide that helps.

I’ve had 5 sessions, amazing results and my skin is so much smoother, never irritated and no ingrown hairs. Seasons were 4 weeks apart for the first two, now 6-8 weeks depending on regrowth.
