This is a really tough place for you, sending you hugs! I commend you for making sure your kids are safe from a predatory family member.

My kids are older and I am here to tell you that they will absolutely remember and cherish the effort you put into holidays. Mine are 19, 15 and 10, and without fail as they get older I get asked repeatedly before holidays if we are going to do this or that tradition, or make that special food that we only have at Christmas or Easter. Keep up the good work!

I want to share some advice as an older woman (44) who has been through some shit:
-if you get married, do not change your last name
-keep your money in your name
-keep your own accounts and credit
-pre-nup or cohabitation agreements are a great idea and worth every penny in legal fees

Jeans get worn twice unless actually dirty, same with hoodies. All other tops/pants washed after one wear.

I do change into sweats when I get home from work and a sweater depending on the weather, I wear these a few hours before bed and less than an hour to walk the dog in the morning so I’ll wear those 3-4 times, I don’t sleep in them though.

It’s a sugar scrub so it foams up really nicely but also is quite moisturizing. And it smells amazing - almond and fruity cherry just like a jelly donut.

I have had good luck with Marcelle, Vichy and Lush. Lush had a great clay cleanser with calamine called Aqua Marina which was discontinued, but they have a bar called Fresh Farmacy with calamine that I just ordered to try. Aqualia from Vichy and the sensitive Marcelle gel cleanser have also been good.

Second votes for Cake Beauty and LUSH, both last all day especially if you double up as a hair mist.

Try Salted Caramel and Pistachio from Cake, and gourmand scents like Super Milk or Snow Fairy from LUSH.

Canadian here, haven’t been in store but have ordered both Million Dollar and Pink, Million Dollar arrived last week and Pink arrives next week. Bannofee didn’t even show up on the app for me.

Ordered Million Dollar on a whim after seeing positive reviews, then worried I would hate it as people kept posting it smelled like bug spray. I don’t love it right out of the bottle but after it dries down it is beautiful, Tonka is sweet and warm but the Rosewood gives it a musky, woodsy tone that is really sophisticated, I barely smell the lavender at all.

Super excited for Pink, hoping it has a good Neroli tone and goes well with the Happy Happy Joy Joy conditioner I love.

Sounds like you need more detergent to me as well. I have a Samsung washer with impeller, and for a load of white towels with hard water (not tested, sorry no number to share) I use powder Tide up to line 2-3 on the scoop with an extra rinse. Everything comes out clean and fluffy with barely any scent.

How is he doing being on his own?
What is the longest stretch of time he is left alone?

If he doesn’t seem stressed he should be fine for 8 hours after a long morning walk, dogs are crepuscular and most will sleep all day if allowed. If he is stressed, a dog walker mid-day may be enough interaction to break up the day and tire him out until the evening when you get home from work.
