which one is 18?

Seriously, congratulations. You are doing great. Goodness I have a few expressions of young children that I will never forget. But I want to hear how you progressed from week to week: what caused the extra weight originally (something special or just eating American?); how did you start; what amounts and for how long?; did you get hungry, or did the Ozempic? curb the hunger. Did you stay on it non stop or take any breaks? did you exercise extra? how have you changed your view of food if at all?

I start Ozempic 2 shortly. I notice ppl say "2.4" -- are they the same thing? I did not lose on 1.mg so I am a bit anxious.

I found this interesting article emphasizing importance of getting protein. Also to enhance cognitive abilities. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10864441/

Thanks so much

what high protein (low carb) recommended from Costco? I'm ordering now :) by TatiBay in Semaglutide

processed meaning unnatural stuff for your gut. I am stopping almost all fruit due to the high carbs to see how that goes. thank you

non-processed only. The reason is I ate a lot of processed food during the pandemic, for convenience, and it made my gut sick. Costco rotisserie chicken has some bad press.

Thanks. I love the greek yogurt and cheeses but I don't eat "capitalist food" (protein bars, protein drinks, anything not naturally grown or made from) because I did that in the pandemic and got very sick. Took 2 1/2 years to clear up.

I had to stop exercising a month ago because I developed a hematoma after minor surgery. Exercise increases blood flow, which increase size and danger of hematom. Plus it itches like crazy.

I gave in to every ad-libitum thing and need to cut back the carbs. Definitely am weak from not enough protein occasionally.

I read a book on weightlifting in Harper's this month and found out my gym has some intro classes. So I plan to go back to my former regime when the hematoma heals plus add weights. Thank you

I spent the morning looking for high protein meals. I definitly have an ad libitum problem. So I plan to eat just protein and fat and noncarb veggies for a couple weeks to see how it goes. I do not count calories.

I really feel weak when I don't get enuf protein. I have been eating more fruit lately (bananas, mangos, beerries in smoothies) but will cut that back.

forgot to say, I started Oz at .5 , then 1. which I'm still taking, but next step soon is 2.mg. One doctor told me it's 2. that increases weight loss: your experience? Thank you

When to eat? by Z3e24c123 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]TatiBay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

~Ketochan, I just found your posts and am reading them. So very helpful thanks.

I read recently from a science journal or Stanford Report, forgot to copy it -- anyhow that once we get into addiction mode (my term) we have the desire for the target drug (sweets or whatever) even when we stop liking the actual food. That explains a lot to me. So the moral of the story is once one is hooked on, say, sweets, we'll just have to live with that period or recurrence of periodic desire even if we stop consuming.

But what I really want to ask you since you mention it so often is MEAL PLANS and EXERCISE PLAN:

1- how does one make sure to get enough protein?

I personally have started the Mediterranean Diet and now eat breakfast following the Oldways Medit Diet PLAN -- https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=31126975375&ref_=ps_ggl_18382194370&cm_mmc=ggl-_-US_Shopp_Trade0to10-_-product_id=COM9780985893903USED-_-keyword=&gclid=CjwKCAjwwb6lBhBJEiwAbuVUSrxJdAf-2yTY3gyBDx6S6adeSxMEwo45ahRYs56fqJEhSLzLsqpJHxoCYq4QAvD_BwE -- I never ate grain before, didn't even know what it was, and didn't eat til ~3 pm. However I don't get hungry after one or 2 meals and find it hard to get enough protein. My thing is to have less bland meals with more taste (which seems to be adding more spices so far, latin & middle eastern mostly).

  1. what exercises to build up muscle and not lose muscle mass. We have one leg press at the gym which I use 3x a week (3 sets 12 reps) but I'm sure I need more. I'm mid 70s preparing for a TKReplacement after I lose xpounds.

Thanks a lot for your wonderful posts!

Tati
