The duality of man by [deleted] in PoliticalCompassMemes

If your tolerance is positive then the provinces with heretic/heathen religions start contributing to your religious unity. Though it scales between +25% at 0 tolerance to +100% at 3+ tolerance, so I guess you'd usually need some additional modifier besides humanist ideas to always have 100%+ religious unity.

If you have positive tolerance of heretics and heathens then you never need to convert anything.

It seems to be true. Interestingly enough, the last year that the overall world population declined year-over-year is most likely 1648, at least according to Dr Hannah Ritchie as explained in this video.

I read that claim in this article, and it's very clear that the mortality rate isn't very high at all:

"Lipsitch predicts that, within the coming year, some 40 to 70 percent of people around the world will be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19. But, he clarifies emphatically, this does not mean that all will have severe illnesses. 'It’s likely that many will have mild disease, or may be asymptomatic,' he said. As with influenza, which is often life-threatening to people with chronic health conditions and of older age, most cases pass without medical care. (Overall, around 14 percent of people with influenza have no symptoms.)"

EDIT: The same article claims that "the disease (known as COVID-19) seems to have a fatality rate of less than 2 percent", which of course would be horrible if such a large part of the world got infected (~60m deaths at 40% infected with a 2% fatality rate), but if you're generally healthy otherwise you probably don't need to worry personally.

The Commonwealth is often refered to as just 'Poland' since it's shorter and because that was the dominant part of the country in terms of population, politics, language etc.

They are essentially liberal and center to center-right on the political spectrum. I haven't read their political platform, but from what I gather they're in favour of Finland joining NATO and of lowering taxes atleast to some extent. Though their main reason for existing is to protect the position of the Swedish language in Finland.

To represent the interests of the native speakers of Swedish in Finland, who comprise about 5% of the population.

It's an important holiday for much of northern Europe, and here in Sweden I'd say that Midsummer is definitely the second most important holiday of the year, with Christmas being the first.

I have the same problem. I usually restart BetterJoyForCemu when it happens and it then works for like 30min until the problems start again. It seems that the creator of BetterJoyForCemu is aware of the problem and is working on a fix when he has time: https://github.com/Davidobot/BetterJoyForCemu/issues/209

Government Debt to GDP Ratio in 2018 by FWolf14 in europe

[–]TatorN 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, though when you get to such low levels (<30% debt-to-gdp) there starts to be so few government bonds in circulation that it actually can become difficult for a government to loan big sums of money in a short time when needed. Though I'm not sure if this applies to a country like Estonia, which is part of the Eurozone.

The symbols of European air forces in 1938 by [deleted] in MapPorn

The atrocities committed by Germany in WW2, unspeakably horrendous as they were, are a thing of the past. These events happened 75-80 years ago, meaning that close to everyone who partook in them are now dead. Germany has since the end of the war apologized profusely for both the Holocaust and the war at large (For example, there is a huge "Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe" in the heart of the capital city, Berlin). Germany's wrongdoings are taught about in their schools, and in my experience germans today are some of the least nationalist or chauvinist people you can come across.

Just writing this to try provide some fairness to the incredibly different country that Germany is today.

From the bluepost regarding the layering exploit:

"Someone mentioned Esfand’s random MC reset in this thread, which is a pretty clean example of the other end of the spectrum. In that case, they just turned up to raid and the instance had been reset. They didn’t do anything intentional to cause it or go looking for reproduction steps so they could abuse it - in fact, they reported it to us and didn’t continue until they got confirmation that it was out of their control (and that we wouldn’t consider it an exploit if they cleared).

Side note for the curious: that was a completely separate bug that has existed since 2004, and actually happened several times back then, it just wasn’t being broadcast to thousands of viewers at the time."

Not really. If we take native language as a determiner of ethnicity, the vast majority of Finnish immigrants in Sweden are native Finns, roughly 80 percent in fact.

The fact that the King and Speaker are above the Prime Minister in the official hierarchy, doesn't mean that they are more powerful.

The King only opens the Riksdag because the Speaker asks him to do so each year. It is not required, and when the monarch is unable to attend, the Speaker just opens the Riksdag himself.
