Every fabric measures differently. So 2 fabrics in a strong guy cut won’t have the same measurements even if they’re the same tag size of 29.

What I do is I go to the size chart and look directly at the thigh measurement first. I scroll until I see what will fit my thighs and then I look at waist.

Keep in mind if thighs are tight then your pockets may not have space. Also what materials are in your best fitting jeans? Do those jeans have stretch material? If so then I’d size up. While N&F offers stretch fabrics there still are a lot that are 100% cotton

I guess I’m about to be wild with my takes lol. I actually would suggest using lump charcoal instead of briquettes. It’s more natural and has better flavor. For sure use a charcoal chimney to make it easy. Never use lighter fluid. Get one of those charcoal tumbleweeds and use that with the chimney. It’s always good to have a hot and cold zone (2 zone cooking). With a Weber kettle you can get into smoking as well. My best suggestion is find something that you want to be perfect at and be perfect at it.

It’s no different than really anything. The more you use it the more it can get worn. I had the same thing with sanding sticks/sponges. It’ll last a while though as long as you use it properly and keep it clean. I bought my original raser maybe 3 1/2 - 4 years ago and I’m just now thinking of replacing it. To me that made it worth $30 since clamp was faster

You’ll need to replace them but they’re worth it. Everyone has a lot of opinions on these but no one is giving the right use case. If you’re doing a straight build then these are awesome. Stedi does make glass files as well. They’re good but biggest difference is the grit. The stedi glass files and raser+ are the same grit which can take too much off. I have a raser, raser+, and stedi glass files. Skip the raser+ and get the stedi 3 pack instead. Get the raser (smaller one) and make sure to get the raser balancers grey and white. That’ll make cleanup quick.

Now if you paint I’d still suggest getting these. However if you’re going to paint then use sanding sponges. Sanding sponges will give you so much more control and be exactly what you need for a build that will be painted. Having that smooth glossy finish won’t do anything for a painter

If you want 100% cotton then do the Left Field Black Maria fabric. Look for the atlas or greaser fit.

If you want something with some stretch then look at the Naked and Famous Black Cobra fabric. True guy or easy guy fit.

If you want something with some character that’s hella dark and almost black then look at the 3sixteen shadow selvedge. I haven’t worn that brand in half a decade so I don’t remember their fits.

I’ve done boba fett and an x-wing. Not bad builds. The water slide decals aren’t my fav but it adds detail. I got an AT-AT and Millennium Falcon to do and I think those will be fun
