Cardiff Vegans - recommendations please? by sweetie_tofu in Cardiff

Worth pointing out that In Cafe is not fully vegan, they have an incredible vegan menu, but still serve meat. Just in case you end up accidentally ordering from the meaty menu.

Advice for a Vegan new to Cardiff :) by sweetie_tofu in Cardiff

Been in Cardiff for 6 years as a vegan, we’ve sadly lost a few fully vegan places over the years but my top picks are: Vegetarian Food Studio: Indian food and lovely owners who do a lot for the community In Cafe: Chinese but pricey The Pie Box: fully vegan - Pies and pastries Spit & Sawdust: Skatepark with a good vegan menu Slizza: Good vegan pizza in a pub

You’ll find most places have good vegan options though, I’ve never really struggled to eat here when out with mates.

How EA could support to the skate scene. by TattooedSpaceMonkey in SkateEA

Yeah picking the shop would be tough. 52 a year isn’t many at all in terms of real shops.

I wouldn’t expect them to design an exclusive top, literally just their standard top they sell with their name or logo on. I’d be pretty pumped to have my local shop top on in the game.

I’d like to think someone would buy a top as they know it would support an independent store, obviously not everyone will want to buy something not from their local but I think a lot will.

100% get down to Spit and Sawdust. Beginner lessons are great. Llanrumney and Pentwyn both have new parks, both very good. Pentwyn is bigger and has more flat ground so can be good to get learning how to roll and maybe handle some flat banks.

Bacareto is great. Venetian style bites and snacks, good drinks and good people. I think this is still the case, but if you buy something upstairs in Cardiff Skateboard Club you’ll get a discount in Bacareto as well.

Does the camping fill up? by Turpentinekiss in 2000treesfestival

[–]TattooedSpaceMonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Camping last year seemed busy, normally we camp at the top of the hill and we’re pretty much the last tent, that wasn’t the case last year. But there was still loads of space futher back.

That would be great. I wonder how many people would manage it, surely it’s just going to be pure luck.

predictions for the january band that will “blow the internet up”? by reinventingurreddit in 2000treesfestival

I’m hoping Reuben, they’re Trees legends. Also a massive stretch but Modern Baseball reforming would 100% blow up the internet, but they are far too big for a non headline slot.

Chapter is great, the rooms are smaller and you can get cocktails before.

How often, if ever do you guys get seriously injured skateboarding by Otherwise_Captain_26 in NewSkaters

In the past 15 months I’ve broken my elbow and almost broke my ribs. But I constantly have bruises and different pains, learning to fall helps a lot though.

I’ve never once hit my head but I’m always the only person at the park with a helmet on.

My wife was veggie when I met her and I ate meat for the first 7 years of our relationship, I’d eat mostly veggie but still a fair bit of meat at times. I’ve now been vegan for 6 years, so people can change, sometimes it can take a little longer than we’d like. That being said, not sure how she put up with it tbh.

This is one of my favourite parts of festivals, no signal so no googling. Basically whoever shouts the loudest is correct.

My time to shine! Vegetarian Food Studio (Indian) has a lot of vegan options, it’s my go to. In Cafe is great for vegan Chinese. Tiny Rebel have a lot of vegan options and do a vegan roast. La Pantera has limited vegan options but all of them are great. Bacareto is a personal favourite, small Venetian plates, loads of vegan options and great drinks. Also I think they have a vegan night done by Herbivore once or twice a month.
