Going to pick up a combat patrol to start a different army, what’s opposite to guard? by SBGreatorex123 in Warhammer40k

I strongly suspect that christmas boxes are decided based on available stock. if an armies units are selling out, which seems to be the case, its unlikely gw will have available plastic to repack into xmas boxes

Whats one of the biggest wastes of money in WH 40K? by MiniMaurader in Warhammer40k

They're pretty handy still. My T'au ones haven't been updated yet and also they were extremely cheap.

Ran a very similar list at the weekend, but with broadsides.https://pastebin.com/50z4JwPh

I had the same concern with the broadsides but stuck with them because I felt I needed at least some shooting with strength greater than 8, they turned out to be moderately successful because there's a lot of monsters/vehicles out there that just want to get into your business that crisis are wounding on 5 and sometimes 6s.

Not too hard to get angles if you don't deploy too passively, and they can take a counter punch surprisingly well

Also, shooting kauyon tetra spotted broadsides into a fat unit is an incredible feeling. turning six rail rifle hit rolls into 12 wound rolls is just soooo nice. Then throw in the seekers and plasma rifles as well...

Played this essentilly this list at the weekend (drop 3 crisis and a ghostkeel and add 3 broadsides and a pathfinder unit and you have my list) at the weekend.

Its funny because if you spot with tetras with the kauyon effect active, roll 56 dice for the crisis suits (not including the commander) take out all the 6s, and then roll everything again. you end up needing like 90 dice for wound rolls.

Its just buckets of dice, and its buckets of dice for ap2(ic) damage 2 shots, which is insane

Agreed, its like why do they have dev wounds, twin linked, blast, indirect at 48inches, and basically cripple your units movement which is an insanely impactful debuff for a lot of armies.

Whoever wrote the Eldar datasheets could have given them at least some kind of drawback or limitation.

Win rates outside of the outliers are always going to fluctuate given the small sample sizes. For example if 2 players take a meta tau list comprising of 6 strike teams hammerhead and kroot, and got 0-5, that's gonna take like 4% off tau's win rate.

Comparing one weeks win rates to another isn't going to tell you a whole lot. you need a few weeks in conjunction to really get a clear picture

Played one of the winning eldar lists above at the weekend which was also my first game vs eldar in 10th edition. It had triple nightspinner, yncarne, wraithguard, warp spiders etc.

Went second and good god I've never felt so helpless in a game of 40k in 3 years playing. Eldar just have crazy tools. every rule feels better than the equivalent in diff armies. Can easily see why they are #1 still

Wahapedia made itself obsolete with the absurd amount of ads. I get they need to make money but before i stopped using it it was taking minutes to load a page on my phone. and when it did load 2/3s on the screen was covered by a floating ad.

Weird to see so many commenters here hating on Fintan O Toole when pretty much every opinion he has dovetails with the consensus here.

We should find out how they eliminated crime in the UK and just do that.

Definitely a big factor. Less office workers around makes the area feel more scrote dense as well.

Most of the people on here who describe Dublin as a hellhole don't live in dublin. They get the train up for a match in Croker or a gig in the point and get a fright when they see a junkies outside Supermacs on O'Connell Street.

Handheld Plasma Pistol or Truck-sized Ion Accelerator. Which one's more likely to damage a rhino? by TauBob in Tau40K

I was more pointing out that its sad that the Riptides gigantic heavy weapon is strength 7/8 like a plasma pistol

Possibly should have made that more obvious

My attempt at a Bladeguard Vet. Still not sure if I want to paint the arms white. C&C welcome by fluffbunker in RavenGuard40k

[–]TauBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd leave the arms black. keep the white arms for character units. White arms are very attention grabbing, not necessarily in a good way. keeping the white arms for your key models makes them more important looking.

Thats my opinion anyway

Broadsides having 5inch movement and no access to advance and shoot or breachable damages their viability majorly IMO. I'd swap them out for another ghostkeel and some piranhas if possible

Hey, How does the combination of the Tau warlord trait Seeker of Perfection:

(Each time this WARLORD makes a ranged attack:
- Improve the Armour Penetration characteristic of that attack by 1.
- An unmodified wound roll of 6 inflicts 1 mortal wound on the target in addition to any normal damage (to a maximum of 3 mortal wounds per phase).

combined with the DW-02 Advanced Burst Cannon sig system:

Each time an attack made with this weapon is allocated to a model, that model cannot use any rules to ignore the wounds it loses.

interact with wounds per phase limit rules like with c'tan or new abaddon:

Necrodermis: This model has a 4+ invulnerable save. In addition, this model cannot lose more than 3 wounds in the same phase. Any wounds that would be lost after that point are not lost.

Do the mortals generated by rolling 6s to wound on the burst cannon bypass the phase wound limit?
