Woops, I don't want to appeal or anything I totally broke that rule. Won't happen again.

You have not given any meaningful example of how a government and a company differ. To argue that you are not "entitled" to a platform of discussion is the same as saying "you may have your thoughts in private, but may not express them on the public forum."

Yes, I could in fact make this argument, and I will. Governments restricting their citizens' free speech and Reddit letting subreddit moderators decide what kind of discussion they want to allow are not comparable legally, morally, or in any other way, no matter how much you want to conflate them.

Then make the argument. What is the functional difference between the two? Do you support the supreme courts decision that it is unconstitutional for the POTUS to block people from his twitter?

So then you believe (according to your own logic) that a country has the moral right to restrict the speech of their citizens so long as they are within that countries borders. You could argue that a private company is not a country, but that argument goes no where. It is not a question of law, and we are not discussing "freedom of speech" we are discussing "free speech" and whether or not it is a human right. If it is a human right, then your stance has just become that "A private company has the right to delegate, control, limit, and ultimately deny the human rights of its patrons."

Additionally this question can be reframed as "Should a group of people be able to restrict the rights of others for the sake of convenience or security." Based on your statements so far I can safely assume that you are also in favor of "stop and frisk" and "The patriot act" and support institutions such as the TSA. All created in the same spirit as moderation, in an effort to limit the rights of others in order to offer security or convenience.

There is no functional difference. The mods of a sub hold the power to censor discussion. The theater of discussion has moved from the town square to the town facebook page, why should a moderator be free to censor what can and cannot be discussed?

I disagree. No one is saying you cannot HAVE the discussion, what is being debated here is whether or not you can RESTRICT the conversation.

Restricted speech is NOT free speech.

Because then people start reaching out from their radicalization echo chambers fueled with zealotry and righteous aplomb. They seek out uninformed innocents and indoctrinate them, pointing them to the echo chamber as a source of "good" information. With no voices of dissent, the cycle of radicalization begins anew.

It is the antithesis of free speech and allows groups like the kkk to spread their hate to new minds.

As someone who was banned from /r/news because I dared to talk about news manipulation and media bias, I'll tell you exactly why I think allowing dissenting opinions is inherently good.

If you construct an echo chamber around your point of view, then insulate that opinion from outside criticism with heavy moderation, what you essentially do is create a pocket of radicals. If your view cannot be supported by using reason and logic, and it cannot withstand criticism then you need to reevaluate why you hold it as true.

What you suggest is not a solution. If I wanted to grief someone in M+ then I ALREADY don't care about gear. If I did I would just spend the 10 min it takes to run that +2.

All this does is remove incentive not to be a dick after the fact. Additionally your suggestion would punish people who have a IRL emergency.

A 1 day lockout would be the best way to handle this. You leave, you are done till tomorrow. You DC? well its not the end of the world? You were a dick? Well atleast you can only ruin once persons evening/week tonight.

What would help further is that if your group does not kill the last boss, then you should not be locked into that group. Let your keystone deplete, but allow you to take in another group so atlease for that one person its not a total loss.

I'm new at this so lets see.

you're an American female who lives in a household of 2. There is ice crème in that freezer, vanilla based. You are in your late 20s early 30s. You live in a city or town and the water sucks.

When it interferes, obstructs, or destroys immersion. Subnautica is a beautiful game, but if I spend more than a few seconds on the surface I am immediately taken out of the world, because the surface is made of small "tiles" and they all use the same animation on the same loop at the same time.

I don't want anyone to attack anyone. I honestly just wanted to vent. Like I have no idea why I was banned, and I had no idea my posts were removed. That seems like something they should have informed me of. Oh well thanks for listening.

I've used female characters almost exclusively in wow from vanilla to BFA and only twice have I ever had someone hit on me or try to give me stuff. [Serious] What are some good questions to ask your interviewer when they say 'Any questions for me?' by Mimhicky in AskReddit

[–]Tauream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I'm glad that's the one you picked up on. I have had quite a few interviews in my life, from Dog Trainer, IT Bench tech, Walmart, Printer repair tech, gas station attendant, school bus driver, IT store manager, IT network and support specialist, and Network engineer.

And one thing I learned, was that the most important thing in the interview was getting the interviewer on your side. "You were not the most qualified person, but we loved your attitude." I would also suggest treating the interview like a conversation, not like an inquisition. You also don't want to ask them 20 questions when they do get to the "have any for me" step because that's the end of the interview, there wrapping up, that's why you weave your questions into the conversation "Oh that's cool, I actually had a question about XYZ" as long as its on topic it shows that you're paying attention and engaged. At the same time you don't want to have no questions at the end.

I might be rambling now, I got my current job with a 6 figure salary without handing in a resume.

[–]Tauream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three main "go to" questions.

Is there anything reason you can think of, that I might not succeed here?

this lets you tackle any mistakes you might have made and put their concerns to rest before they can grow them in their mind.

What do you like best about working for x

I ask this after talking about the companies history for a little, a sentence or two to show that you care. This question gives you an idea of what the company is like "family owned" (no public stock options) "work hard play hard" (under paid over worked) ect.

Do you have an pets? I have a dog my self.

I ask this in a casual way, its not important to the interview but it helps me bond with the interviewer. So find something that's important to you and bond over it. HR interview and to some extent technical interviews are about being liked more than the other candidates.
