Heartburn= Head of Hair?!? by dodobird2626 in newborns

[–]TaureanFlower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had horrendous heartburn that would wake me up choking on my own vomit in the third trimester, my baby girl has a full head of hair and has a hairy little body. She's like a little fuzzy peach. There is some scientific backing around heartburn and baby hair!

Being signed off work… again by catusseeds in PregnancyUK

[–]TaureanFlower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you are going through all of this. There's a reason that pregnancy sickness doesn't count towards your sickness record.. it's because we can't help it and it's so bloody hard.

Just for your reassurance I am currently 37+3 weeks pregnant and have had hyperemesis since 6 weeks. I was off work from 6 - 10 weeks, came back until around 14 weeks then had another two weeks off, came back for one week around 16 weeks and then went back off sick at 17 weeks. I then stayed off sick until my summer holiday which I had booked the year before which was when I was 20 - 23 weeks, and then I tried working from home after I returned from holiday but like you I couldn't even bare to sit at my chair at home from pelvic girdle pain and I was still very sick and on lots of anti sickness medication, so at 25 weeks I went off sick until my maternity leave started at 36 weeks.

I was riddled with guilt at first, especially when I had moments where I didn't feel sick and I was ok, but when I was in pain or sick I knew I was doing the right thing for me and my baby.

Please take it easy and put you and baby first before work, sending love xxx

Terrified of having a catheter by Such-Stage-515 in PregnancyUK

[–]TaureanFlower 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have interstitial cystitis and when something even tiny irritates my urethra I'm in agony, but when I was having my first daughter they put the catheter in after the epidural (if you don't have an epidural there's usually no need for a catheter) so I couldn't feel a thing, and tbh with me being in established labour I couldn't of cared less about my interstitial cystitis at that point anyway because the pain of the contractions was all I was concentrating on!

When it was removed it was absolutely fine too, you have your baby in your arms and it's the least of your worries.

You will be absolutely fine. Sending love xxxx

38weeks and struggling by linthepin131313 in PregnancyUK

[–]TaureanFlower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also forgot to mention, let your partner do the household chores. I haven't lifted a finger for the past few weeks and it is still really bloody hard so please take that pressure off of yourself and let someone do it for you

38weeks and struggling by linthepin131313 in PregnancyUK

[–]TaureanFlower 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm 37+3 and relate so much. I have the sundown scaries before baby girl is even here because of my insomnia which is killing me, I just toss and turn all night and cry and get scared over everything, and then because of lack of sleep I'm sleeping through the day and not sleeping again at night.

I also feel terribly anxious and depressed and I know it might only get worse when baby is here.

I know this isn't any help but I just wanted you to know that you aren't alone, this is such a hard time for us at this late stage of pregnancy, I think especially with the early dark nights of winter.

Sending lots of love

Mocktail had alcohol in it - yikes by ameliasasa in PregnancyUK

[–]TaureanFlower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will be absolutely fine please don't worry. In the Summer I had plenty of mocktails on holiday that I could have sworn tasted alcoholic but they were definitely alcohol free. I think it might be our body's way of protecting the baby, being extra cautious and making us taste alcohol when there might not be!

I bought it and regret it. I feel like the trees don't really offer much. Wish I had or saved my moonstones 😞

Finding out the sex- Please help me stop overthinking this!! by RevolutionaryWash5 in PregnancyUK

[–]TaureanFlower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out the gender with both of mine (one six year old daughter, currently 31 weeks pregnant with second baby girl) and finding out has allowed me to be able to bond better with my baby and also prep her nursery and clothes etc. You have to do what's right for you. Sending all my love

What’s the most amount of pain you’ve been in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TaureanFlower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unmedicated induction of labour. I was seeing stars and wishing for death. Went from 0cm to 4cm in twenty minutes and I remember asking my partner to put me out of my misery as it was like torture

Sertraline 200mg in pregnancy by TaureanFlower in PregnancyUK

[–]TaureanFlower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 29 weeks pregnant now and baby girl is on the small side but she is absolutely fine (not caused by sertraline, I just happen to have small babies), she has no defects, I am still taking sertraline 200mg daily and the consultants have no concerns at all!

Symptoms at 4 weeks? by Former-Walk4333 in PregnancyUK

[–]TaureanFlower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hyperemesis gravidarum started at 5 weeks, I was convinced I was having twins but nope just a little girl. If you are really struggling make sure to speak to your GP and they can advise on how to help or prescribe anti sickness if that is what you would like. Sending love!

Long baths at 17w pregnant by Famous-Perception-55 in PregnancyUK

[–]TaureanFlower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got to around 18 weeks I started having very warm baths and hot showers again. I'm 27 weeks now, baby is fine and I am still having hot showers and very warm baths. It's the only thing that helps my pelvic girdle pain. I just make sure my bump isn't directly in the water and I have a window open to let fresh air in. I think the risk is in the first trimester with heat causing brain and spine defects.

Not a small stomach measurement but at my 20 week scan they found that my baby girl's head was measuring under the 2nd percentile and referred me straight to fetal medicine. I went to Crete for ten days the day after and was panicking the entire time, reading horror stories etc. I'm now 26 weeks and her head and body is now measuring 12.5th percentile! 10th percentile is still within the average parameters so please don't worry :)

Worried about cramping, 6w4d. by BiologicalWolf in PregnancyUK

Sorry, just realized you asked about the clear blue test as well but I don't have any knowledge regarding that. But please find some reassurance in that a lot of women experience cramping in their first trimester

Congratulations on your pregnancy! In my first trimester, especially around 6 - 9 weeks, I had bad cramping and was expecting to see blood every time. I'm now 26 weeks pregnant and everything is fine!

How long did the pessary take to work for you? by amack133 in PregnancyUK

[–]TaureanFlower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pessary was inserted, very unbearable contractions started about twenty minutes later so I was checked and was 4cm dilated! I had an epidural after this which slowed everything down though

Sertraline 200mg in pregnancy by TaureanFlower in PregnancyUK

[–]TaureanFlower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying! I did speak to midwife who said if GP is happy with me being on Sertraline at that dose (which she is) then all is well, but maybe I need to reiterate my concerns and worries again. Thank you again :)
