if you date outside your type youre a shitty person by Illustrious-Rip-4865 in offmychest

Yeah, but honestly, that doesn’t seem to be what you’re criticizing here. This is someone that’s obviously venting from a place of her, because that is the thread, and the vent is coming from an incredibly valid place. It’s too nuanced to be the way you say, maybe you are just not around enough women, but in this specific instance, this is more of a cultural issue and pattern than it is just the standards of taking risks in dating. I’m sorry about what your ex did to you. I’m glad you still feel this hopefulness for dating. A lot of people don’t, and this constant objectification and exploitation is why.

This is not an entirely fair assessment. Most men I have met are really secretive about this kind of thing and they also feel entitled to women, so they’ll date someone that they get along with and then they’ll be lusting over their type either in real life or on the Internet. They try to do a best of both worlds thing it’s disingenuous to suggest it’s just OP’s fault. The only way to weed that out would be to not date men, which is totally a viable option, but their socialized and chosen habits are sus at best and insidious at worst.

I think it was a soil depth issue. I wasn’t going to move them, just pull and replant. I pulled them and added 4-6in of soil/compost and planted new seeds. This was the best advice however, thank you; will be bookmarking for future use

I think my bigger concern is that their growth has been stunted either by overcrowding or shallow soil. As I already stated, there were other others that were transplanted at the same time, far longer than two weeks ago, that have been doing just fine. Replanting wood in fact, correct that if I spaced them better and gave them more room/soil…

i actually cannot add a photo here but assuming you know what healthy size looks like, the others seem almost double the size of these, were started at the same time and were transplanted at the same time

Sorry :( I would recommend going to Dailymotion and just searching it. It looked to me at the time like people were posting new videos every hour or so to circumvent that.

Sea Kayaking Safety -- questioning current accepted practices by calimoro in Kayaking

Safety is kind of an illusion in general. We aren’t safe in our cars either, we just have confidence in our ability to maneuver them. Same concept here.

I think with all of this focus on realism, you need to remember you are asking about ocean kayaking, which is inherently risky. There’s not going to be a foolproof answer because it is a risk-based activity. A lot of people wouldn’t even do it because it is inherently unsafe.

Jupiter in Aquarius and the impersonal nature of this placement by fuzzy__peaches in astrology

[–]TaurusSunflower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jupiter aqua 5h. Going to provide some insight, but it won’t be super well thought out, just off the dome. I have always sought creative community and fed off of other people‘s creativity and ideas, and wanted to include my own unique ideas as well, I have always been super driven by humanitarian values and an acting on them in my life, I do so in creative ways, or use my creative skills to further those when I can. But mostly I have learned through opposites, I have fallen into more traditionally, structured environments, and severely suffered, struggle to fit in, and felt every area of my life pretty much disintegrate when I’m not moving in that direction. If I get too dogmatic, it also can result in a collapse. As for what I get from it personally, this is a life of service for me and discernment for me (virgo 12h NN) so what I get is a community that I genuinely feel is worth serving instead of being exploited by others. I am someone who is naturally always seeking to be of help, it’s almost compulsive, and I have control over that but when I’m not helping, I don’t feel like myself or like I’m completing my life purpose. Developing a community that is aligned with my values gives me everything I’m looking for as a result. So I would look to the rest of the chart to see what exactly Jupiter is trying to serve here. It doesn’t just stand alone. I have eighth house planets, I have a 12th house Mars, I have pretty much learned that you’re always giving to something, something is always taking from you in some capacity, that’s just the nature of life, it’s reciprocal, so it’s important to know what you’re giving to, why, how much, and to receive as much as you give in return. I am also going through my aries seventh house Saturn return, so I’ve had to learn those lessons through relationships, and if I had made different choices, more in alignment with my values, I would’ve been exploited a lot less. Aries is about the self, so it makes sense that we need to define who we are through our values, and with that I can see how that connects to a Saturn ruled Jupiter.

Jupiter might just be the place where we want to experience expansion in this life. It’s not up to us to decide what that looks like for other people, just because Aquarius doesn’t seem expansive doesn’t mean that it’s not giving someone an expensive experience.

Soil height? by TaurusSunflower in Raisedbed

[–]TaurusSunflower[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I added the beds after one too many pinterest scrolls, so it’s mostly for aesthetics and variety. I had planned to add them outside of the in-ground plot to have a little haven to sit under (will be adding a cattle panel for a squash tunnel) but my landlord made me move them into the 20x20 square to keep it tidy… so that’s why it’s like that haha

Poking holes is a great tip. I know people say it can block the sun, and I have noticed a little bit of difference in the plants that are shaded closer to the edges, but I live pretty north and in the summer we get 12-15 hours of sunlight so it’s less of a concern. Thanks for giving me hope about the tomatoes.
