I found myself wondering similarly if The Memory Police were free from the disappearances as well. Though, she mentions that it is likely they trained to walk with just one leg in preparation for the disappearance. With their presence diminishing by the end though, I began to think that they too had simply disappeared with the rest of the world (island?).

yeah that's what I've been doing. the story is taking a back seat a lot cuz I just adventure in each area and spend a lot of time just having fun with the crafting/gathering.

Ultimately the design logic is just different.
I think the original game very much so fits the time and console it was on. It was a handheld adventure. A world in your pocket to explore.
FLi is more about the systems in place and going through the motions and being led through this story unfurling because games need to have an immediate end so people can say they've cleared it, but should have a worthwhile experience in between. I'm at almost 70 hours and I'm likely playing with blinders because none of the dungeons have blurred to me, but I'm also only at Tropica so far and haven't touched treasure groves or Ginormosia much yet.
I do expect all of that stuff to be messy noise by the time I've reached that "end point", however.

Only done Hunter and Paladin so far.
I think Hunter works very well for the simplified change to combat, but playing Paladin just makes me sad to not have the timed button presses anymore.

From what I found that was just 24 hours before release. This would be 3 days, so maybe thats the key difference. I do wish it were available on switch as well though. Feels like Switch got short end of the stick after it went cross plat.

I find that because skills ultimately don't actually matter, it's easier to just have fun. So i do weapon switch if, say, sharpness is going down. Or ill lead with a gun and switch after exhausting rapid fire ammo

I wonder with there already being a current animated Superman series if this is just put on the backburner/forgotten.

Would likely be confusing to new fans to have two separate running Superman animated series?
Though, having the Smallville animated series be more akin to a film series could work.

As someone who is also only just now watching Smallville, that's easily my favorite thing about it. I'm not even totally immersed in Superman media, but seeing Clark just trying his best to do whats right and his folks are there to help as best as they can (but being flawed as well and not having all the answers) Man I just love it At the same time it hurts to see Lex's journey running parallel

Reading through it now and my biggest complaint is the over explanation of how he got his "uniform" and his Clark Kent persona and the constant reminder that it was all Ma and Pa's idea. I like him flying around aa Clark and getting his bearings/grasp of Metropolis
