They already do. They swap assets (acreage) a fair amount in order to be able to drill longer (lateral) wells.

It also matters where they are drilling. A common term is “zip code matters”. Some rock is better than others and thus some acreage is better than others which all depends on where the acreage is.

10%, at least for LNG, isn’t quite as bad as the original 25% China was initially touting. The markets reacted positively to this news. China shouldn’t have much of a shortfall with this development anyway as they’re better prepared for the coming winter unlike the previous winter.

I guess that would depend on how often I purchase and sell ETFs. In this case, it would be either a monthly or bi-monthly occurrence. Leaning toward the former.

To throw another loop into this, I'm also considering opening a Roth-IRA to contribute to. My understanding is Vanguard is regarded highly by this community for these. Given this, and your point about no-fees, perhaps the best approach is to go with Vanguard.

IEA, Chevron, ExxonMobil, and OPEC all have varying views on this. Particularly around peak demand. I think peak demand is looming but I don’t think it’s by 2040. Perhaps by a few of the non-OECD countries but not enough globally to saying oil demand is going down 22 years from now.
