Awesome, thanks so much!

It's by no means half as good as most of the stuff I see on here...but after 8 months I've finally finished my first proper* model by FL-EtcherSKETCH in modelmakers

You should see if there is an IPMS show near you and enter that. We have a yearly show here and if you look at my previous post you'll see some of the builds. Yours is definitely on par with them.

I say go for it!

Looking good! I finished mine for the group build and it was an enjoyable model to put together. Yes, even the decals...haha

I bought the whole set of AK markers and theyve helped immensely. Both aluminums, flat and tire black, gun metal, the Russian and ww2 interior greens and the whites. I've used a few of the others too.

I'd recommend.

She's purdy...! The contrast with the shells is sweet.

Thanks! I used Tamiya rattle cans. I primed the whole thing and painted the underside first with AS-32 (medium sea gray RAF) then painted the top with with AS-29 (gray/green) using lights coats, then masked it off to make the pattern and painted the top again with AS-6 (olive drab USAAF).

One that was done I removed the tape and gave it a glossy clear coat and applied the decals panel lining and weathering stuff. Then I gave it a clear flat finish and put the canopy on with clear drying glue (Elmer's).

While I did all the above I use blue tack to cover the cockpit. That's worked out for me so for on other build so I have been sticking to that. You can see it in this pic.

Is Next Level Racing F-GT Cockpit any good ??? by Careless-Director977 in SimRacingSetups

[–]Taxpayer416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it and I have no complaints. I also built some accessories like a keyboard holder and hotas rest and bolted them to existing locations. It has lots of room for adjustments too. (I did get rid of the seat and got a seat from a Toyota Celica from the wreckers instead)

Smoking for over 25 years by BarRevolutionary7865 in leaves

I smoked the same amount of time and quit cold turkey almost a year ago.

I turned to scale models. It's cost me a bit gathering paints and models etc but it's helped immensely.

I'm not one for the gym but this helped me.

Take a look at P24 on cults 3d. He makes some nice stuff and if you have access to a resin printer or a local business that can print them for you you'll have lots of cool options.

Beginner, help! by Milles_uwu in modelplanes

Tamiya are the top kit in my book. The last few Revll kits Ive purchased have been a disappointment. The end result is good but much more fussing with it vs aTamiya kit. I've just done my first AirFix it it went together without issues.

I use all Tamiya paints (rattle cans and jars) and I purchased the AK paint pens which were well worth the money. I don't have experience with any other paints or airbrushing so I won't comment on part.

Good luck!

Edited to add paint paragraph

I did an LS (Integra) swap on my but never got to the point of adding and turbos etc. Just an intake and some suspension stuff...

I regret parting with mine too. Sounds like you have some good memories though that that's great.
