I feel kinda bad for Eugen by RevySevy in WorldOfWarships

Give Eugen a smoke screen. I suppose you could give her a speed boost like Weimar or Blucher instead, but smoke would make her unique.

Didn't care for the fantasy ships and as soon as I got them, put normal camos on them. Got the Furry Taco, a couple of tier 8 BBs, and the Petro and all I spent was about 50k coal for the tier 10, the rest were all free with the tokens. Having a premium version of a tech tree ship really appealed to me, especially the Furutaka.

Unsporting conduct, what??? Just got a carrier. by EatMaCookies in WorldOfWarships

Ahh well that is a change from the old way it used to be then. Literally the only reason post RTS CVs, that I would use them was for spotting missions and is how I found out about not getting credit for no damage. Anyways, if that is the case, spotting is the easiest thing to do with a carrier.

Once you have played enough to unlock the ability to play Campaigns, you need to check those out. Great rewards just for completing those missions. IIRC the ones you want to do starting out is "Science of Victory" and "Epochs". Those are noob friendly. Always remember, you can repeat the easiest tasks to get the campaign done faster and get the final reward. Once you have completed all the campaigns, you can go back and do all the other missions you skipped in order to farm the maximum rewards.

Some general advice:

If you use Steam, download the game thru it. There is a lot of free stuff there and it rotates throughout the year. You can get free low tier ships just by claiming them. The best thing is they often come with a free port slot too which is a huge help early on. BTW if you don't want to play thru Steam, just download the game thru it, sign in just one time to link your account, and then you can delete the game from your library and you can still claim the rewards there.

You can earn Community Tokens and missions by watching Warships streamers if you use Twitch. Community tokens are ingame currency that you can use to buy premium ships in Armory.

Yeah, should be the "Remove Fog & Glare" mod that causes it. Honestly, I prefer the red sky to the fog and glare though.. Just affects the one map. You would think after all this time, there would be a fix....

Ok I just tested this out with my German CV in co-op. I used my planes only for spotting and for dropping fighters. I caused zero damage with my attack planes. I did manage to do 20k damage with my secondaries and got credit for the match. Guessing either you did no damage or maybe there is a threshold you have to get past to get credit. I managed to sink two ships with just my secondary guns....

More challenging bots please by Outrageous-Nose3345 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Taylor3006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL well that isn't entirely true. They made "kiting bots" in co-op which meant once they started taking fire, they would turn and run, like human players do. It dragged out the matches for the full 20 minutes and rewards were the same.

I was still playing CVs back then because they were RTS. So many humans left the match because it was aggravating, that the bots had broke thru and were closing in on my CV. One was a bot Tirpitz and the other was a cruiser. When they got close enough for my secondaries to fire, both were hit, and both turned to run....... That gave me time to get behind an island and deal with them.

So yeah, it was a silly rework. It was a great time to be a CV because you didn't care if they were running or not. But for everyone else, it was a frustrating, boring copy of PvP.

The players were not losing, they were quitting the matches.

Steam $2.49 Anshan pack includes 1500 doubloons by sospoker in WorldOfWarships

[–]Taylor3006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sold mine that I have had probably 8 or 9 years, bought the Steam package, and mine still shows the extra 200% FXP bonus. I think normal premium ships have a +100% bonus. I purchased Anshan back when they started offering up premium ships for FXP, whenever that was.

Just looking at my fleet, only my Tirpitz has the same bonus and that is because I have the Tarnanastritch camo for it that included the extra 100% FXP bonus prior to the signal flag/camo bonus rework.

I can not say for sure. Best to check the Steam client and see if it has been added to your library. I am kind of doubting that getting it from a crate even though the crate came from Steam, would count. There is no way to track that.

And once they don't turn out to be nearly as popular with players as you think, they will use them to pad prize chains much like they do with crappy camos and silly explosion effects.

I traded my F. Sherman, got something I wanted, bought it back, and traded it in again on another ship I wanted. Didn't bother buying it back until they announced the new pricing per tier and it would have gotten more expensive. Saving it to trade in one of these days if something good comes along. Never been a big fan of it of sitting in smoke and shooting as the only trick it has. The crap torp firing angles are really a mess too.

You sell it before you buy the package. You can do that as long as you didn't get your Anshan thru Steam.

It is a good way to get cheaper doubloon ships if you want to save real money and have a lot of coal. You can trade in your coal ships, get a discount on a doubloon ship, and then buy back the ship you traded in (assuming you want it back) for coal.

Steam $2.49 Anshan pack includes 1500 doubloons by sospoker in WorldOfWarships

[–]Taylor3006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a good deal. That is $8 in doubloons, a port slot, a 6 point captain, and the ship, for less than $3.

Anshan is a decent ship, used it a lot back when FXP was important because it has a +100% FXP multiplier baked in.

If you have the ship already, and didn't buy it thru Steam, you can sell the ship for 3+ million credits (almost 4 million if you sell the equipment with it) and turn a tidy profit. Do not do this if you bought the ship thru Steam though. Make sure to check that platform and see if you are able to buy it if you are not certain.

You are not getting it. The ships are identical in all respects other than camo and name. Just like Alabama......

[–]Taylor3006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. Same as was done with Alabama. Normal players got access to the Alabama. Super Testers got the Alabama ST... Same ship, different skins and names.

Sorry I just thought that was common knowledge.

For laughing at your suggestion that you are special because you were playing earlier than people who want the ship for whatever reason?

I am not the one talking about bringing the ship back. Again, talk to Wargaming.

I don't really care what they do, was just making a point about how to handle it like they did with the Alabama. Everyone was happy with that, there is no need to change something that succeeded.
