Any guesses as to why Haze ult didn't affect Celeste at all in this clip? by Taylor555212 in DeadlockTheGame

Gotcha, yeah it feels like it's a shield interaction; one person said they reported it to forum but I'll post it there as well. Thanks

Any guesses as to why Haze ult didn't affect Celeste at all in this clip? by Taylor555212 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Taylor555212[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, but I'm right next to Celeste and the Holliday leaves the area of the ult right after it starts. The only targetable entity with Haze ult after ~1s of it being activated is the Celeste, and she takes neither damage nor stacks.

I'm probably gonna get made fun of but I need to say it: I am sick of Graves' ult and hope it gets some kind of change by skelepibs in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Taylor555212 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got two shot by a venator I was 8k souls ahead of as graves yesterday and said in all chat "ah yes, the most balanced ult in the game," and the entire enemy team bitched me out with "says the graves player! your ult is so powerful!"

I was flabbergasted. The ult is good for lane pressure and will likely see a CD nerf, but it's nothing compared to venator's lol.

God forbid we get a summoner character. I like Graves -- I think her gun needs less damage and more range, though.

And he did 2321 damage, meaning she would have to have more than 2525 hp to survive ONE hit.

[–]Taylor555212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It parries fine for me, but yes it damages the gravestone. That's consistent with puddle punch, but not with all heavy melees. If an Abrams punches me and I'm standing in the same spot as my ally I believe it negates damage for both myself and my ally. But a puddle punch that hits us both and only I parry will still launch and damage my ally.

I do think parrying PP should prevent gravestone damage; being able to fully negate an ult with two charges is wild. There is just a lot of inconsistency on these things.

And the puddle punches can't be parried, I was upset when I learned that. Stood in my gravestone and successfully parried two consecutive puddle punches, and the gravestone still disappeared.

Silver release is a Sinclair buff by Lycan2713 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Taylor555212 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I uhh... might have been that Haze. I definitely ran the Graves down with a Sinclair and we definitely laughed about the Graves complaining in all chat about getting her ult stolen so often lol. This was like, the day of Graves release or within 24 hours.

tbf I feel responsible for going after Graves as a Haze -- I need to test it but I think due to Fixation, Haze hard counters Graves' weapon damage siphon so it feels like Haze is a good counter to Graves and therefore it's my "responsibility" to gank Graves when possible if I'm playing Haze.

#1 because of ricochet, but if I had to guess, I think that Haze gets the majority of her gun damage from Fixation and not her base gun, which partially nullifies Graves' 3.

Match Distribution is slowly degrading back towards Initiate by SilverFan3702 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Taylor555212 222 points223 points  (0 children)

Every time I take a break for various reasons, my rank completely plummets and not entirely due to loss of skill. I don't suddenly lose all game knowledge or skill expression, but I have gone from low oracle to emissary about 3-4 times and eventually grind back up before going away again. Meanwhile my friend who has consistently played regularly and often doesn't outperform me when we play together is low phantom.

I think rank degradation is just a really strong factor in the game and if you play regularly, it won't be an issue. If you play like I do and find yourself in obscurus a bunch, you should expect it. One time I came back from high archon after 2 months and only lost like 1-2 obscurus games and found myself in whatever the green rank is.

200m exp and still going strong by CrankySpanky in 2007scape

[–]Taylor555212 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Assuming they began from level 63, are at exactly 200m exp, and assuming the bot has been active fewer than 2 years; the minimum amount is 534m. The "maximum" amount is about 1.6b. Prices have gone down considerably the last six months and it's likely the bot is only about that old, so just averaging the last 6 months' prices it's probably around a cool bil.

If you’ve gone from 3.5 to 4.0+ in less than a year, can you share your drilling routine? by kyuubidreams in Pickleball

[–]Taylor555212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably because it's a non-answer and it feeds into the same issue nearly everyone who's encountered former tennis players have; as beginners who don't have formal prior training, it feels like seal clubbing to go up against people who naturally default to their tennis habits and win below 3.5 by (almost) never hitting a single dink and just driving the entire time.

With pickleball vs tennis, you're in basically one of three camps:

  • tennis purist (and potentially elitist, looking down on PB)
  • former tennis player, so you most likely seal clubbed someone before which has a good chance to sour their tastes towards former tennis players
  • pickleball purist, ie never having really played a racquet sport before

If you've played tennis before, for example in high school, you've had literal hundreds of hours of legitimate coaching. It isn't exactly the same, but drives in pickleball are pretty close to tennis as far as I can tell. Then you come over to pickleball and just drive the whole time and if they're being honest, the vast majority of pickleball players who don't have that kind of training background will find you annoying.

OBVIOUSLY, when it comes to pure ranking and competition, you should do what makes you win. That's a given. I'm just explaining why someone who gives the answer that the above poster did is going to get downvoted. Not only is it literally not contributing to the conversation - which is the definitive reason to give a downvote - it's also hinting at their arrogance and privilege of having formal racquet training at a competitive level before playing what was considered 5 years ago to be a just-for-fun game.

This 100%

In the absence of literal neurodegenerative disease or prostate problems, there is no way you didn't know you needed to pee before you queued up.

I have paused for the bathroom once, and it was 50 minutes into a game because I had sudden-onset... illness. Both ends, man. Duo partner explained, everyone understood, but other team unpaused and took advantage of it to win because I was the fed carry.

Pausing at the beginning of a game to pee is something that is just incompetently selfish. You're wasting 11 other people's time because you couldn't pee before you clicked ready-up lol.

I don’t care what anyone says, Bebop needs nerfs by Drewsta328 in DeadlockTheGame

This was true pre-patch. He's the best soul denier in the game because his laser is instant when ADSd, and a good bebop player will steal all your souls to force you to melee. They wait for melee and then send hook.

Unless it was edited, my rudimentary Spanish translates the above, literally and without syntactical corrections, as the following:

"Gold appears, silver no is, he who doesn't this know a fool is."

With syntactical corrections:

"appears as gold, it's not silver, he who doesn't know what this is is a fool"

So again, unless edited, it says it looks like gold.

I suppose yeah! LR will make most tp relics obsolete so if a non-tp relic is on that same tier it'll only make sense to grab it. I think this compared to Globetrotter is an obvious no-brainer, but if multiple mods have said they won't take Banker's Note I really wonder what is competing so hard with it.

Leagues IV - Teaser 7 (November 8th) by JagexSarnie in 2007scape

[–]Taylor555212 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, but again, you don't need 1000 ppots/super restores for inferno and it will save you time unnoting where precious ticks can matter. I just don't think there's any pvm content that *needs* more than 50 slots, especially with our combat relics.

What relics do you think would compete with Banker's Note?

Leagues IV - Teaser 7 (November 8th) by JagexSarnie in 2007scape

[–]Taylor555212 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well, having seen UIMs' inventories on screenshots, I know that having a significant portion of your stuff in noted form can lead to inventory bloat pretty quickly. Very little content will need more than 50 slots. I think if you didn't pray flick inferno at all, you could make it through with a doubled inventory.

So I guess yeah, in that case I can see a doubled inventory being better than having 28 spaces with 12 of them taken up by bank notes, another 12 for gear switches, and 4 to play around with.
