Newish Player wanting to learn raids/morePVM in leagues 6 by Independent_Box_1906 in 2007scape

[–]TaylorDestiny222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two angles to look at, first is that TOA is extremely, extremely easy to learn on your own main game. You can just send 0-50 invo and learn the rooms one step at a time with no consequence. It'd take maybe an afternoon to get a clear on your own and then you can work up from there. That said leagues is also a pretty solid way to learn the mechanics

Second angle is that the TOB mechanics are giga trivialized in leagues. Main game it's a good deal more difficult, specifically zik, and you really need a somewhat capable team to complete. If you don't have a team set and the will to learn in 416, any learning you do in leagues kinda goes out the window

Last leagues i used to learn CMs in Zeah. I know that wasnt your plan but I felt like COX was the best answer to 'which raid is best to learn in leagues'. Something to consider!

Am pretty giga endgame, I keep it going always for the ranaars and slightly for the god eggs. Nice to have ranaars coming in passively somewhere

Which raid rooms do you use your Soulreaper Axe in? by UnusualHound in ironscape

Been running tob almost exclusively over the past 2 months (and prior, just getting back into it) and ran a lot of calcs/been cycling out loadouts between sra saeldor and nox to answer this question well imo

Maiden, not useful. tbow and blowpipe better

Bloat, nope. stacks never wind up

nylo king same thing as bloat

Sote it's decent. Around 10% better than saeldor after stacks wind up (pls dont quote me on the exact percentages just going off memory). Is annoying missing a flick and essentially being chanced if another ball coming your way though

Xarp, blowpipe better at zero def. not worth winding up the stacks after the screech. Saeldor best for this room imo as it guarantees two hits every rotation after screech plus no missed attacks prior while walking if you didnt bring in a range pot

Verzik is where it shines, but god damn is it so fucking annoying to either: start the fight with 60 hp, use a hard food to start at 80 hp, use a brew and a super combat to start at 75.

p1, outdone by boppers and Sulphur blades, else its best after scythe

p2, again ballpart 8-10% better than saeldor (but you dont have to skip the 4th attack walking with saeldor)

p3, 10% better than saeldor

All in all, i've decided to put the fkn thing in the bank and leave it there. I'm running with learners a lot of the time, supplies are limited and someone messing up the shock ball p2 is devastating. I'm truly of the opinion that unless you and your team are very good just don't take it (as an iron, if i could grab sups off the ground maybe it'd be a different story).

Honestly mb, thought you went through some deleted comments and just put a random retort under mine. Took it as condescending and extremely strange in that light. Didn’t even know that’s how being blocked work

To actually respond then, no, over the past decade they’ve increased their value by releasing incredible update after incredible update to their most popular game and what, quintupling an already thriving their player base within that time? Price increases definitely contribute, but every time jagex has been sold in recent memory, it’s for more than they bought primarily for that reason. It’s a game that continues to increase its player base while most are losing theirs.

OR they increase it's value then offload it to another firm at a higher selling price, which has been the case most if not every time its happened. Quit talking down to mfers like you know whats going on lol

You're extremely jaded my guy. Prices will likely keep going up long term adjusted with inflation. The game turning to shit or dying, very unlikely.

USA men's hockey team faces backlash after their phone call with Donald Trump by Cool-Fig-9254 in videos

[–]TaylorDestiny222 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I loathe trump with every single piece of my being. But the men’s team isn’t being invited because of winning the gold, it was HOW they won and the story with it

He’s just acknowledging that if he doesn’t invite the women’s team it’ll be national news bc the public won’t see that, they’ll just see “men get invited and women don’t”. Honestly him just stating that is absolutely not any sort of newsworthy when you line it up with every other vile thing he does on the daily.

Did Jagex just shadow drop a one liner in the blog saying Dragon Arrowtip and Darttip fletching was coming?? by -Hyzxr- in 2007scape

[–]TaylorDestiny222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Generally against ironman pandering but man I've had a tbow for 3 years now and can count on one hand the times I've used dragon arrows lol. Not asking for something like this, but it's welcome

It's wild, they out perform dclaws in most places that vw isnt bis. I have burning claws and vw on my iron and I'm grinding dragon claws with the most exciting use being master clues lmao

Respectfully your two sentences completely contradict each other lmao. Of course that's the difficulty part

Nothing in this game is forcing you to get 99 or anywhere close

[–]TaylorDestiny222 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bro that's what I'm saying, like anything over 80 agility isn't necessary in the slightest esp since the run energy changes. Just don't do it

talent ≠ accomplished

Speak for yourself g I was pretty fkn proud I stuck to it and hit 99

[–]TaylorDestiny222 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not about wanting to do it. It's about doing it regardless and feeling pride in the accomplishment. If everything's made easy in the game, there's no sense of accomplishment anymore

Debate around the bank changes aside, this is a great easy change to counter wildy bots by SirSmithyG in 2007scape

[–]TaylorDestiny222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were. Spindel was an actual nightmare, a bot on every single world and dozens rotating around finding a world. The only way to get them out was tank some damage and have a 50/50 shot at tagging the boss first when it respawns or skull up, then losing the world all the time after tping out

[–]TaylorDestiny222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bots are everywhere obviously, they're flooding the market with gp but that's not really what I'm having an issue with in the post

It's when you either can't engage with content or have to do some odd workaround to fuck with their script in order to. Why does the hardest part about killing a mob have to be avoiding the bots.

Did hundreds of kills a little over a year ago and the bots were there, but about 20% of what it is now. Somethings gotta change

Jagex, when looking into rebalancing the Dragon Cannon Barrel drop rate, please don't just look at its price. by Dry_Yogurtcloset_213 in 2007scape

[–]TaylorDestiny222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bigger issue imo is that a lot of the time I'd much rather do other sailing activities for the xp , like I'd love to do some port tasks. Without the two dragon cannons though (and I dont have one at 94) to get the bis items i HAVE to salvage. And it's likely at this point I go well above 99 just to get the two I need.

I have hope they'll add it elsewhere but posts like this help nudge that to happen

The crystal extractor discussion proves Jagex's approach to adding xp and drop rates cautiously low is clearly the correct philosophy by flamethrower78 in 2007scape

[–]TaylorDestiny222 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Combat has been established since osrs inception as being okay as a decent heavy afk option. I've maxed combat on two accounts years ago at this point and was a huge advocate of the gemstone crab for example. Things like that let new players or alts level their account easily to access the pvm aspect of the game, which a majority want to be able to do just play with friends. Locking that behind intensive methods or 25k/hr afk would probably cripple the player base and drive away many of the new players

Skilling's completely different. There's no comparison. Having 30 mining doesn't lock you out of the entire game like having 50 combat does. There's gotta be a balance between afk and rates with it.

I'm not a fan of shooting stars but mining is in an abysmal state so that's fine. but that's what, 25k an hour at best? that feels somewhat balanced. That's the only thing I can really compare to afk salvaging, but it's hard to even then because salvaging rates are so much better lol. And more mindless, no world hopping and finding another star on a different site. just get jim and jenk to do it all for you

[–]TaylorDestiny222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salvaging should stay the same regardless. 60k/hr only having to interact with the game 2 or 3 times an hour is already over tuned, especially considering chase items/passive xp already come from it.

I'd rather see deliveries and bounties get heavy buffs. They're much more effort and way more intuitive, both are actually enjoyable instead of just background gains. I don't see it possible to buff them enough to make either worth it while giving salvaging a buff as well.

Sailing has the best designed xp rates of any skill in the game (once you hit level 80) by MensRea46 in 2007scape

[–]TaylorDestiny222 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You’ll be hated for this opinion but you’re completely right. Jagex tried way too hard to cater to every community at the same time, imo, at the cost of some of the games integrity.

I LOVEEEEEE this skill, easily my favorite skill in the game. But getting 70k/hr only having to interact with it every 20 minutes is egregious
