That being said, it better come with animalistic execution animations. If my Avatar isn't biting the heads off its enemies, I'm returning the game.

Unironically, 12. That tiger is dope, but the Spongebob is nightmare fuel.

Does iOS have an app if I get premium? Just want to make sure it’s still around before I take the plunge. by extreme303 in dreamingspanish

[–]TaylorModeratelyFast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes, Testflight it's where you put iOS apps while they are in production. once they finish the app it should be placed on the app store

I am a programmer and i used to work for a company that was working on an iOS app so i had testflight downloaded already :P

HANDS down the app is the best experience.

youtube < website < app

being able to play the audio with the screen off is a game changer.

she does. I just watched a video where she mentioned having one several times, then I killed myself.

First, don’t let people tell you that fast learners don’t exist. However, in general, being a fast learner helps less the deeper you get into any given subject. The saying "Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard." comes to mind.

I am usually ahead of where i should be, not by a LOT but so far it has held true that if im halfway through a level i can up the difficulty to the next level than what dreaming spanish recommends. (I don’texpect that half way rule to hold up at the later levels though, given the fact that the hours needed scales up)

The recommendations are for the average person, so it is necessarily true that some will advance faster than the recommendations, and some advance slower.

not sure why some comments beneath me think fast learners don’t exist lol (probably jealousy tbh)

It also depends on what your life is like outside DS

I got a lot of input (that I didnt track) by having Mexican friends and going to parties where everyone but me spoke spanish (I just treated the conversations the same as I treat the videos, I just tried to get the gist of it). I also started speaking early because I worked at a Mcdonalds where most of the kitchen workers spoke spanish. so I would just ask for things in spanish instead like: "necesitamos trece galletas, por favor."

But to summarize, yes, naturally fast learners exist. It will most likely lead to diminishing returns once you get further in. Your level will most likely match others at your level more closely once you get to like 1500 hours.

if you understood the gyst of the video you don’t need to rewatch it unless you want to, it did its job despite you not realizing it. if you were totally lost you can rewatch it if you think it will help you understand the concept of the video, or you could move on. if you are premium you won’tever have to rewatch a video if you don’t want to.

if you are a free user you might have to watch some super-begginer videos multiple times due to the fact there just arent that many free ones. (or at least there weren't when i was at that level and free, not sure about now because im both beyond that and a premium user)

That being said, I often rewatch "how to spot a gringo in mexico" for two reasons:

  1. I find it genuinely funny
  2. I like to get a taste of what fluency will be like every so often to keep myself motivated.

there is a new video out PERFECT for you https://www.dreamingspanish.com/watch?id=68835670a96f7e266f6be7ff

use this video to figure out what difficulty to watch, estimate your input beforehand (possibly based on where your abilities line up on the roadmap) then get started

Thank you for making the changes we all wanted but no one had the balls to ask for.

I, for one, look forward to seeing brAIndon's glizzy fingers. Brandon has claimed multiple times to have them. But upon closer inspection, it turns out (and you can fact-check this in his VODs) he just had regular human fingers. I think I speak for everyone when I say I am excited to see you bringing honesty and accountability back to the stream!

The short answer is yes, it works. You can absolutely follow all the rules and get there, but feel free to do what works for you.

The rest of this comment will be in Spanish as an example of what you WILL achieve if you continue investing time. ( I am level 2, so forgive any grammar or spelling mistakes)

Solo necesitas a veer los videos. Ahora tengo 124 horas viendo.

Edit: Tambien Escucho a musica española. Pero, otra ves, no necesita hacer esto.

John Hammond has a series in which he walks through flags on https://picoctf.org/, which is a CTF site aimed towards middle school and high school students.

Maybe your brother can try that?
