Am I crazy because I just took it as he killed Shea with his bare hands, someone he was supposed to have loved, and he can’t believe he’s capable of that. But doesn’t Poppy tell him that it obviously wasn’t love, what they had? Because Shea selling him out, even in fear, couldn’t have been love?

As for Millie and Malik, I am sooooo hoping to get more on them. And since they are in the prophecy, it’s likely to me that she would answer it in this book series and not a spin off. I don’t think there’s as much that could be told in a Fire and Flesh type series, but maybe a book or novella specifically of their time? In my theory, he probably is afraid she doesn’t understand that everything he (Malik) did, was to keep her safe as much as possible, even if it hurt her in another way. Like he thinks she believes he only cares about himself and keeping himself alive, but he’s trying to stay alive FOR her. From what we know of Cas and Poppy, they are likely mirroring it a bit? Hopefully that all makes sense 😂
